World's most patient shill
I can tell for sure that Exec Talent isn't Hakan Olsson.
I'll second that.
That would be something though, to wait 8 years and add 1100 posts to finally sneak in 1 plug for an armored car service!
Don Juan. Don't waste your time
I was on the walkway in front of L'uomo the other day and came across an attractive mulata just hanging out. I asked her the obvious question about whether she worked inside and she said no that she worked in Don Juan on Duvier (a block or so from Balcony). We exchange some pleasantries and numbers and I asked her to tell me more about Don Juan. She said there were 4 cabines and that the price was R$50 for a cabine and R$100 for her. I was intrigued and decided to visit. What a dump. The cabine is upstairs and consists of a mattress in an open area surrounded by what looks like an attic project gone awry.
While at Don Juan I saw an attractive girl who later was at Balcony. Speaking of Balcony there were a couple of 10s working this Saturday otherwise it again looked like the bar scene from Star Wars. All of the tables were filled but mostly with guys sitting alone nursing an empty glass or bottle. The good news is the Trannies seemed to have moved elsewhere.
My suggestion to those coming to Rio and wanting to stay in Copa is to bring some decent clothes and make the rounds outside the various clubs in the Lido area. Previously, when Rio was not the safest desitination, I would dress seriously down. Now, that it is safer I dress a little better which seems to agree with the working girls who take the time to put on nicer clothes. Rather than trying to gouge me, they are offering extended visits for R$100. R150.
The strong real / weak dollar theory
It is the other way round, it is great when the dollar is strong, Brazil exports commodities which have costs in reais, so a weak dollar gives less return. U. S, under these circumstances is not omporting inflation, the contrary, raw commodities are cheaper.
The strong real / weak dollar hurts Brazil, because Brazil and most emerging markets make contracts in dollars and not their currency. The real is no good outside of Brazil; the Dominican peso is no good outside of DR; any currency that is weaker than the dollar, euro; canadian dollar, and etc. Is no good outside of their country.
Dress code for the cheap extended term

For our information, can you please elaborate on what is meant by "dress a little better"? I see the gamut from shorts to jeans to hipster clubwear to biz casual to suits, depending where I am mongering. For Centro its jeans+t-shirt or biz casual, dockers etc. In Copa I see everything from tank-tops to zoot suits. In VM, mostly jeans and t-shirts but I've seen real suits. Of all places.
Since ET mentions safety..For the people out there who've never been and are wondering. My 2 centavos.: In Copa daytime, like ET insinuated, you can wear whatever nice clothes you want. Same goes for Centro, daytime. Same at night in Copa, if you're willing to take cabs door-to-door. In Centro/Zona Norte I would not advise that at all after dark. I monger a lot at night in Centro and VM, covering a lot of territory on foot and onibus. My personal strategy there is to dress down and stay in the alleyways.
Counting the days till I'm in Rio...11. I just hope I can do better than my last trip reported in late June/July. I felt like I hit my Rio peak there in those ~10 reports. The criticism of my last Rio field reports was harsh, citing safety and common decency violations, but I plan to post anyway. My itinerary has shifted a little, I scored 21 on the last trip and most the those were CBJ and so forth. Now i'll be trolling Bar 22, Rio Branco 22xx's, 502. When I find GFE BBFS or all-out-safda, like last time at 22 and Florida, I'm locking that down for TLN instread of playing the butterfly. I'm maturing in my career to the point where it might not be all about score, maybe, hopefully.
