Jakarta

Report one. Arrived Jakarta on the 18th about 9:00 PM. Very tired after the eight hour flight from Narita, Japan. At airport grabbed a Silver Bird and rode to some hotel near Blok M. Now, had no reservations, and no illusions that this is the highest of the high season, so finding a place may be tough. First went to Losarai (sp?) which was the place I stayed at last time. It was OK, but what stands out in my memory was I had them do my laundry, and they charged OUTRAGEOUS prices for it, and I got super pissed off when the guy nonchalantly asked if I needed any more laundry done. Anyway, they were full, which was fine. Price if they had room was as I recall about 470K. Then went across the street and up a block to Winner and some hotel next to it. Both full. Went to Melawie 1, and they wanted 530K. Checked out Melawie 2, which was 590K, and apparently there is now a Melawie 3 around the corner from Melawie 2. Looked like anything but a hotel, and they wanted 310K. Place looked bit dodgy.

Reluctantly stayed at Melawie 1. Place still an overpriced shithole, with that old musty carpet smell. Found my way to Blok M. On the way to there found this other hotel called something like Blue Pacific Something-or-other. Was grateful I found it, and decided then would leave Melawie ASAP. Arrived Blok M and went Top Gun. Exhausted after the long flight, had headache, hungry, and wanted some gal and sleep. Ordered a chicken pizza which was pretty good and a few gals quickly found me. I was way tired to converse with any of them, so one just chose me, and off we went. We agreed to 500 LT and that she'd give me her ass. Got hotel, and after a round she wanted to leave with the 500K (oh, and no ass play). I gave her 300K and the boot out of my room. Had to sleep.

The Melawie "free breakfast" was usual mass produced garbage, something I refer to as fish food. I asked for an egg, and they made me one. As they served it, demanded another, and they argued with me about it. Gee, spend 530, 000 for a musty hotel room, and they cannot even afford to cook up a second egg. Can these people be any cheaper? Anyway, the egg was salted to death anyway. Left to second hotel, Blue Pacific Something-or-other. Cost 430K. Place was shottily built. To open the door to leave your room, you needed the key. Yea, no deadbolt lock. Also there was this light which I could not figure out how to turn off. Where is the damn light switch? Went down stairs and told them to turn off the light. So, maintenance guy came up to room, and to turn off the light, he by hand unscrewed the bulb. Yea. No switch to turn light on / off. Just amazing. That said, location really good, it right around the corner from Blok M, and solid Internet WiFi. Their free breakfast too pretty good, and they served me four eggs each morning and I left a nice tip.

Next evening had another gal who I found at Ds Place and we agreed to 400K including her ass. She complied and was a pleasure in the sack. Gave me three solid rounds, and I gave her a 100K tip. Quite pretty also (sorry no picts).

Only other bit of news I can think of about Jakarta is that I got my teeth cleaned at the shopping mall which across the street from Losarai hotel. Charge was 20K. Dentist did a mediocre job I thought, and prob worth $25 but not much more. Also there is Gold's Gym in Jakarta. If you're a Gold's Gym member you can use the facilities for free. Take the bus about seven stops from Blok M. Think the shopping center called City Walk, and a decent gym.

Decided early on to head to Bali over the break. Left Jakarta and arrived yesterday. Price for RT tickets was 2. 050K, which I feel expensive, but this is the busiest of season. Only ticket avail is Lion Air. Will return back to Jakarta on the 7th and prob stay Jalan Jaksa or Kota. Will report more later.

Am now in Bali and will continue posts on that forum.

Any ideas where to stay in Jakarta (with WiFi Internet) that isn't heavily inflated like most are? Rp. 10,000,000 for a single guy is a bit too much I think. Few months ago used to stay somewhere good in Tanah Abang but they raised the prices 50% like most "serviced apartments" have recently. Compared to Thailand it seems it is not too easy finding somewhere to stay for a reasonable price.

Price on apartment and hotel have gone up alot the last 5 yr, I was looking last yr for a apartment in Kota all over 3. 2 MIL for one week studio with kitchen, you might able to get a nice apartment south of block m for under 2 MIL, cost on hotel is double from back in just 10 yr like Popper said even Melewai hotel is getting 530k for that dump I stay there back in 2000 is 280k back then was a dump.

Location: No13 Jln Gajah Mada, Jakarta Utara.

Type: Spa, Gclub, KTV, Restaurant, Hotel (yes you can actually stay here)

Spa Price: 150K entrance fee. 350K for normal Indos. 800K for model Indos. 1.5mill for special Indo dancers. 1.6-2. 3mill for foreign girls (lower end of viets / thais, higher end for russians / latinas. Food here is pretty good and reasonably priced but drinks are overpriced and watered down alot. LTs are available too like Alexis and use the 3x 1 after 11pm or 5x 1 before 11pm.

Spa MO: Spa facilities is on the ground floor, hot pool / cold pool / sauna / steam room / back rub rooms. Once you are done with the spa head to level 2 to either the massage rooms for a proper massages or to the restaurant to choose girls.

Spa Girls: normal indos 5-5. 5/10s, indo models 5-6. 5/10s (more Indo hotties than Alexis) , indo dancers 5-7/10, Viets 5-6/10s (bad compared to Alexis) , Thais 5-6/10s (only saw one cute one but overall quite bad selection) , PRCs 4-6/10s (Nearly 30% of girls here were PRC, saw 2 absolute stunners 7/10s the rest were very average) , Eastern Europeans 5-8/10s (some really gorgeous Russian girls) , Latinas 7-8/10 (Definitely the best of the bunch, very playful. Cheap thrills, but its only 50K.

They are alot more girls now in the restaurant area after they renovated since last year. The new wing is to house all the Indo girls and the foreign girls stay in the area closer to the stage. The mamasan here are alot more pushy than in Alexis and only allow you 5mins to get to know you're selection before forcing you to commit or sending the girl back. If its PRCs or white girls you are after then I would recommend coming to Malio over Alexis, the price is also 200K cheaper but you don't get 30mins in the pool with your girl like in Alexis (alternatively come during the spa girly shows and just buy a few flowers and play with those girls before heading up, adds up to the same amount anyway). By the way at certain intervals the Indo dancers will perform on the stage in the restaurant area on the 2nd floor and do a strip tease down to their gstrings, so you can check out the merchandise before you make your selection.

Club: The Malio Club entrance is behind the Spa and hotel entrance. Strip shows at night and alot of the spa girls will be hanging around later at night after the spa closes and still be available for sessions. LD price in the club for dancers are 50K a pop and 5x LDs buys you some time with your selected dancer upstairs in the more private sofa areas with curtains so you can do anything you want stopping just short of sex. Sex with the dancers is possible and will cost about 1. 5mill, just ask the waiters which girls are more open to it than others.

Overall: 7. 5/10. Environment is more meat markety and can get abit noisy with those PRCs shouting over tables. (so pretty. Until they open their mouths.) Still satisfying, and a must visit for PRC or white girl lovers. Alot more time strict compared to Alexis, but alot more PRC and Indo girls compared to Alexis (not necessarily hotter just more quantity). I would still put it on my Jakarta must visit list.

I think every place I mentioned here is for your advanced-level Jakarta visitors. It's safe if you use your standard urban spider-sense. That is, don't be too flashy and keep yourself to yourself. It is pretty much Indonesian-language only. While I am by no means an advanced member of the demimonde as are the more distinguished vistors to this board, such as Menteng and JakartaAfterDark, dll, I am comfortable off-the-grid in Batavia. So please keep that in mind.

In the afternoon. Strolled over from the Pullman for a second look. An easy walk after Pomodoro. Wouldn't exactly call it a ghetto, more like typical Asian waterfront residential and food stalls on the street kind of a place. Can see the Medika signage neon reddish as you exit Ciputra mall, facing the canal. Very close. The place is definitely local, but foreigner friendly and not low end. If you're in the mood for drinking beer, hanging out and seeing what turns up, you may find something. Prices definitely right. And, there are a couple other smaller hole in the walls that are low-end on this street.

After went through a lot of RTFR here, I do believe that web site indeed the Classic hotel and the Terminal classic is inside the building. I try in last several days to inquire the Infos regarding rates and others. However, it seems they don't want to answer my e-mail. I like to make a first visit to Jakarta next time for holiday / vacations. I have been traveled to Bangkok many times and maybe it is due to see the Jakarta mongering scenes, massages parlors and club activity. The Classic hotel themes are one stop shopping entertainments like other hotels in Jakarta and may work well for me to have a room in there. I consider to stay in Classic hotel or Malioboro hotel.
