I had good luck near the Phrom Phong BTS stop in front of Emporium. On Soi 22 on Sukhumvit Road, there's an alley filled with massage places. When I was there a couple of years ago, it was 2500 baht for MSOG for the hour. DATY, FS, DFK, etc. I did see a Filipina named Cristina from Massage Republic for 4 k. She had natural DDs. There are also some massage places on the other side of Sukhumvit Road near Emporium, though their names escape me. You should be able to have a good time for no more than 4 k baht per hour.

Trip was a last minute 3-day add-on to a week in Hanoi. Stayed at the NH Sukhumvit. Nice hotel. Girl friendly, but they keep the ID of the girl while she's in the room.
I hired tour guides for cultural and food tourism. FYI it's not possible to get the smell of curry crab off your fingers with anything less caustic than sulfuric acid. Lemon juice kinda works. All of the Thai street food and market food was fantastic and very inexpensive. I was expecting to pay more due to it being high season, but food cost was reasonable. The Ramen near Snow White massage was mediocre. Also, muy Thai fights are a lot of fun. Put that on your dance card.

I think what's happening, at least in some cases, is that there are some scumbags that advertises photos of some decent looking women (nothing spectacular, just an average 7 or at best a weak 8), and then sends some random hag off to meet you at the agreed on place (your hotel / condo). At that time, depending on how sex-starved you are, you might, I assume, bang her anyway, or if you reject her, she will demand a hefty sum to leave. In my case, I had offered my usual 1500, which was accepted immediately or almost so (I'm not going to spend time more than 2-3 the messages to discuss the price. If they don't like my offer, better just move to the next one), and she demanded 1000 to leave.
I imagine the idea is that many guys will pay her the 1000 to leave rather than risk some spectacle, and then the scumbags organizing this will send her off to the next sucker.
In my one experience where I met her I would not say she was a complete leper, but rather than the expected 7, it was something I'd rate as 3. These problems with Line occurred with multiple girls (about 10) and when the girl gave me a QR code, there was no problem. I have not tried asking for line numbers.
I am not alone with this type of problem, but the fix is to remove Line from my cell phone, come up with a new LineID name and reinstall the app. By doing that, I would lose all of my contacts that are currently in Line. That seems to be my only option to fix the problem. It is a shame the Thai girls haven't learned about WhatsApp, as that app is much more intuitive and reliable.
My response to Ksalter123's experience being price gouged is that he made very typical newbie mistakes. He is not just new to Bangkok, but new to mongering. Yes, he should have read the forum more carefully, but I remember some of the dumb shit I did when I was a newbie, including leaving $1000 USD out on a table when I left my Airbnb in Sto Domingo to go work out at a nearby gym. She was so GFE in bed, that I forgot that she wasn't actually my girlfriend. "Hans", manager (and maybe a part owner) of Tilac when it was a DEA agent hangout. Every night, Hans would be sitting at the end of the bar along with "patrons" enjoying their customary seats that had their names fixed with small brass / bronze plates that noted that those four seats were "reserved".
Cactus John. The papasan / manager of Cactus Bar; an affable and interesting dude who, in my opinion, had the worst taste in music imaginable (LOL). He was a righteously degenerate and fun-loving guy who might've had the biggest drink tab every night if he didn't enjoy his position. 20-baht table dances were probably introduced by John, that featured bottomless dancers moving table-to-table and offering up "tacos" for those who were hungry. LOL (Even if you didn't eat them, you were able to inspect them from inches away from your nose.).
