I walked up to some brights lights set a way back from the road, close to the Pattaya Nua bus station. 3 big clubs, Supergirls (also in Russian), one with a Thai name, and X Club. About 50 massive tour buses in front of them. Lots of Asian tourists milling around, the one club had a long excited queue 4 or 5 abreast in front of a closed door. A door girl came up to me, I asked what's up here? She said "boom boom show, but no can walk in customer, only tour, you want see show? 1200 baht, expensive." I passed. Interesting corner.

quick news. got a new cell phone. in brief, my older cell was a sony-ericsson v-800 which was made in 2004 and got at big-c in 2007 for 1200 baht . great as a phone, but camera at 1.3 million pixels was lacking. this one is a used 2007 sony-ericsson k810 and has a 3.2 million pixel camera for 2000 baht. not at big-c or tuc-com but found by accident at some small place at soi bekow. huge sony-ericsson fan: interface is exactly the same. am convinced that sony-ericsson finest phone out there. quality. outstanding camera -- since sony themself makes cameras. most importantly is bar girls will not steal it cause it's not a nokia. :)


my visa was to expire this morning so went to jomtien to extend. went to immigration. thing is that immigration people need fail many iq tests to become an immigration officer. this is everywhere, and in my experience, us is the worst. anyway, went in. they told me to go next door and get some photocopies of pages from passport and pictures. did exactly as told. took it to them, and guy was upset with me since the wrong pages were photocopied. also got too many photographs of myself. well, smiled, paid my 1900 baht, and eventually got the seven day extension.

As you noted, just up from the Bus station, large empty lot and if you go to the back there are several clubs, the Thai club which I'm familar but all three do get all their busy from tour groups since who the hell would ever find this place especially at night on Pattaya Nua? But the Thai club you can get in with the following ( for whatever reason ) you got to have your Passport ( no copies )to get in and it's 1,000 baht.

Inside this show you see a bunch of naked guys come out with big hard on and a drum around their neck banging on the drums. Good to see the MiB making a great effort to raise charitable donations for the above fund. Just a friendly wave from the few MiB standing outside the new Hilton site on Beach Road to the passing scooter riders, and they all pulled over and happily made a sizeable donation.

I say 'all', I really mean just farangs. It seems that it is only farangs who commit driving transgressions in Pattaya, and the locals are remarkably good and safe drivers.

Kumbu has written elsewhere about the emotional trajectory one passes through on arriving in Pattaya. With me there is a clear day or two of excitement, then ennui sets in and I start to feel 'what's the point?' It usually takes meeting someone special to jerk me out of that (and I use the term loosely), so today after wondering whether I could be bothered to wander down to Soi 6 for a little post-lunch relief, or whether I should save myself for Miss Y (who will almost certainly not turn up tonight), I chose the former.

Needing to avoid the 3 Angels Bar, I sloped down Soi 6/1 as far as the first alley way, and crossed into Soi 6 proper. Just there I met a sweet young thing who was just emptying the remains of her lunch into a bin before heading back to work (romance can be found in the strangest places...) I had a quick chat and discovered the vital statistics (name, age and where she works), before heading on down the Soi. I was very tempted, but I couldn't realistically choose the first girl I saw in Soi 6 when I wasn't even in Soi 6 yet.

I want to lay it into this guy and give him more than a few cents of common sense but what good is it going to do? Yes! a American and nothing wrong with that since I'm one but this type of dementia and behavior isn't just confine to one race or country?

Personally depending on when you were in America, it isn't the standard rate for all American women, since I've gotten one for less than $10.00 in the past but that was when I was young and stupid. It is a great hotel at a good price if booked at FLB Bar's website, 1450 Bt. It is not really near anything though. You will have to take the Bt bus to get anywhere. It is a 10 to 15 min walk to walking st and forever to Jomtien.

I have only been pulled over and seen them pull people over from the left lane which is closest to the police station because they stand on that side. They never pull people over who are riding in the lane closest to the beach. Even if they tried to pull you over from that right lane you should be looking nonchalantly away from them and going fast enough to miss them trying to pull you over.
