Just a short update, as my time is very limited right now
My first remark: There is simply no way to describe the situation of tourism and the related industries in Hungary with just one word or sentence. The yawning gap between domestic and inbound tourism (and therefore, among other consequences, between the situation in Budapest and the countryside, especially the Lake Balaton area) has been dominant throughout the whole summer season, and has even widened rather than narrowed. Just to mention a few numbers: in July 2019 there were about 2,3 million guest nights in Hungary, about evenly split between Hungarians and foreigners. In July 2020 the total number was 1,4 million, with 1,2 million Hungarians (a bit even more than last year) and only 0,2 million foreigners (huge tumble). And from among the 1,2 million Hungarians only 31 (thirty-one) thousand visited Budapest (while 504 k of them visited Lake Balaton). Furthermore, to add insult to injury in terms of the situation in Budapest, the capital is completely left out from the public money spending poured into the tourism sector (mostly state subsidies not to be refunded), and therefore the situation in Budapest is very far from "business as usual", actually most of the businesses in tourism are fighting for their lives. I do not have the time now to analyse the situation more deeply, but here is an article in Hungarian, whose google translation seems more or less understandable: https://24.hu/belfold/2020/08/19/budapesti-turizmus-magyar-turisztikai-ugynokseg/.
Anyway, as you can see, the core problem is the lack of foreign tourists. And if we focus more specifically on the sex market, obviously its segments are also affected differently by the crisis. Escorts who had specialized in foreign clients should be touched the most directly (conference tourism, for example, virtually ceased), while those who meet only Hungarians may have had close to normal business in the past two months (after the first wave of fear and restrictions were over). Actually my feeling is that the total turnover of the "domestic segment" has also shrinked a bit, as clients are more cautious in both the health and the financial aspect of the word, but the offer of working girls has shrinked at about the same pace, so that offer and demand may have remained in balance in the past months.
And now the most important part of my post: beware that whatever the situation is right now, it will probably change soon again. PM Orban warned Hungarian citizens last week that they should not "plan vacations abroad, especially not in Southern Europe" from early September, because the situation on the borders will be "not as tight as in a vise, but close". And while it was aimed at Hungarian citizens, those measures are supposed to be reciprocal, so you should be careful and monitor the situation if you're planning a visit to Hungary from September (Hopefully I'll have more time the next week, and provide some fresh info about it, along with a few other aspects of the Budapest sex market in these turbulent times).
Thanks for the update from a local.

That would suck to have planned an expensive trip and then be stranded when I needed to be back to work or somewhere else. Please keep us posted as conditions warrant.
Trust the real Hungarian for the reliable info
From Semptember 1 foreigners will not be alowed to enter Hungary. I am not glad about this decision as many foreign guys have sent me private messages asking me to help them in Budapest. However, at least cheap individuals who are praising fake locals / fake Hungarians will stay out of Hungary. One thing is sure, Hungraian working girls will not be missing guys like that. There will be plenty of Hungarian clients for them. It will be still possible for guys from America & other countries to met porn stars / Hungarian elite girls in Belgrade.
