Cyclo Hotel more or less the same. But in that price range you won't have so many options in that area. Whenever I am in Phnom Penh, I stay away from that area and reside on River side. Slightly more expensive but some nice hotels around sleazy bars fir a night of fun once in a while.

Wondering if anyone has advice on the best time / season to go to PP. I have never been, was thinking it may make sense to wait until the cooler season like around November, when the weather would be more tolerable. It seems quite hot right now, though if one stays indoors in an air conditioned hotel during the day, the evening temperatures seem fairly tolerable.
I'm wondering if perhaps the "hot" season, now, might actually be a good time to go, with tourism low and smaller crowds to compete with, perhaps the gentleman to lady ratio is more favorable now? Or does it not make much difference, hot season versus "cool" season?

If you go in the summer month it is so hot and rainy there are a lot of dirt road here and it turn to mud after a heavy rain, I been to PP in Jan there are still a lot of girl avalible.

If you are going for girls air con is everywhere. Never there is a short supply of willing girls.
If you are going for sightseeing do it early morning hours when it tends to be cooler all year around. Afternoons can be hell.
Mid to late June starts the rainy season in Cambodia. The roads in PP and the surrounding areas can flood at times. I would wait until November if it was me.

Having great time at PP. Checked in yesterday 5th 10 am and after had nice shower hit candy.
Spent two hours with bar girls and picked up one cute 21.
Spent 90 min and Had two pop up and gave 40 USD. Slept after couple of beers.
Went to foot massage at 7. 30 pm and cuty agreed to do body massage at my room. Waited for her and when she arrived it was 9 pm. Having good conversation she was ready to do full service with lot of shy.
Had good time with her and sent off, had couple of more beer and slept like pig.

The last report on Solun's Place was almost exactly two years ago (see below).
During 2009 - 2011 I stopped by Sokun's Place every time I traveled to Phnom Penh. After a long dry spell, I went there again last week and learned the following:
* The salon / massage parlour has been renamed Srey, and Sokun is no longer part of the business.
* Sokun's girlfriend, Srey, took over the business and renamed it, but I do not know the details of their split (seems not friendly!
* There were 8 girls on duty for regular salon duty, and massage. They were not nearly as cute as the ones before, and I get the sense Srey has downplayed the massage activities for the salon services.
* I have now visited Srey's Place (nee Sokun's Place) a total of three times. The quality of girls did not vary but Srey's skills at shaving, etc. Are great and worth the visit. NB: At NO TIME was there another customer present.
* I did not partake of a massage.
How does my recent experiences with Srey's Place compare to other customers?

Sokun's Place A massage parlor and saloon near Street 108 (just before the Night Market) on riverside. Staffed by a dozen Khmer girls, most of whom are around 20 years old, pretty, petite and light skinned. Get the oil massage for $7 (I think). Head upstairs. Negotiate directly with the girl for a hand finish. You have to be quiet and they will sometimes look around like they're afraid to do it, but it's a standard option. Most report giving a $10 tip, and that works, but you may have to negotiate. Some will try to start out as high as $30! Their tops don't come off. Open 11 am 11 pm. Higher score just because most of the staff is attractive. (3. 5/5).

We were there every night, 3 days in a row. My wingman had 3 girls one night. I had the same girl every night, but she picked another girl for 3-some.
