I think it's time to mention that regarding the policia of Juarez, things are getting worse. The change of police chief in the city is clearly proving that, as the damn cops are back to their old ways.
Last Wednesday I had been visiting my favorite provider and we took a taxi to the Domino's Pizza on Juarez Avenue. I was planning on walking up the bridge to return to EP, and she wanted to get a pizza to take home. My provider got out of the taxi first and entered the Dominos. I then got out of the cab and was immediately stopped by the cops. When my provider saw what was happening, she came outside and we were both accused of being "tomados," I. E, having been drinking too much. The cops said they were going to haul us of to the police station to see a judge, and the judge would decide if we should be put in jail for a few hours, or be set free. My provider told the bastard cops,"Go right ahead, take us to the judge."
I explained to the cops that yes, she and I had had a couple of beers, but that I was not drunk. Bottom line, a "gratificaccion," gratification (that's the word to use) , of 200 pesos got each of us off the hook.
About six weeks or so ago I was stopped by cops, when, with a different provider. They told us that prostitution is not legal in Juarez. Then they asked for a little "cash" to buy burritos. In this case, a gratification of 100 pesos did the trick.
My 2 cents guys. STOP giving them money! It is NOT ILLEGAL to "be a little drunk" or "tomados", you weren't driving, that's why you were in a cab. Prostitution may be illegal but if they did not catch you in the act they cannot accuse you of prostitution or soliciting, therefore they cannot "take you to any judge".
Cops will try to get easy money from you, and they keep doing it because they succeed fairly easily. If they see you will not give them money after 5 minutes of trying to shake you down, they will move on to the next target and leave you alone. I GUARANTEE they will NOT take you to any judge because that takes them 2 or 3 hours of their time, and they would rather spend it trying to rob other guys than actually doing their job.
Use your judgement, if what you are doing is not a crime, illegal or they cannot prove you were soliciting or having sex in exchange for money, stand your ground HARD. Cops are playing a big bluff, and they will keep doing so if you cave in. Don't act all nervous when you see LE. Unless you are walking down the street with a beer (or your tool) in your hand, you have NOTHING to be afraid of, and they will NOT take you anywhere.
Last I saw her was at felinas
Thank you buddy. But when was the last time you saw her? I went last year to Felinas but the Madame told me that Coral was no longer works there. (Is it true?)
To those who frequently use the taxis, I wanted to know how much should the taxi ride from Puente Santa Fe / Lerdo be to the Motel Bugambilias? I feel like based on how I look the taxi drivers might try to rip me off thinking I am an easy target so I want to have a good idea of who is being legit and who is trying to scam me.
unless you are walking down the street with a beer (or your tool) in your hand, you have nothing to be afraid of, and they will not take you anywhere.
don't mean to argue with you here, papushko, but my co-worker who lives in juarez was picked up in juarez, and taken out in the middle of nowhere, robbed of his money and cell phone, and left there. cops can play hard ball too.
on caveat here guys. i don't live in juarez, and i'm no expert on juarez, or how to deal with crooked cops in juarez, by a long shot. papushko lives in juarez, and knows a heck of a lot more than i do, about juarez, and about dealing with crooked cops. i'm still a rookie to juarez, and have no idea how to deal with crooked cops in juarez.
i just carry a little bit of money in my wallet, and if hassled by the cops, will try to convince them that's all i have. if they want it, they can have it. i don't trust the judges in juarez, or anybody that has law enforcement authority in juarez. i'd rather lose a little bit of money, than spend possible weeks in a juarez jail. cops can claim they saw you breaking into a car, pissing in the street, trying to buy drugs, trying to get with **** girls, etc. cops can claim anything they want. now you get to convince a judge they're lying. good luck with that.
the people in authority in juarez know this crap goes on, and yet i don't see them doing anything to try to stop it.
in nuevo laredo, cops saw me walking down the sidewalk, whipped over in their car, and ordered me to get in it. they drove me out in the middle of nowhere. no witnesses. they told me to give them $50 bucks, or they would take me straight to jail, and that i would have a lot of problems. i gave them $50, and they drove me back to where they picked me up, and dropped me off. had i refused to give them $50, things could have gotten very ugly. there were two of them, and one of me. they could have beat the fuck out of me, if i refused to give them $50. they were ready to do battle with me, if i wanted to do battle.
when i got back to laredo, i told 2 laredo cops what had happened. they told me, "you're lucky they didn't beat the shit out of you." so be careful in dealing with juarez cops. they can take you out somewhere, no witnesses, and beat the fuck out of you.
I just want to add to my previous post, the following. I asked an employee at Laredo city hall what to do about crooked cops in Nuevo Laredo, and she told me,"Don't argue with them, just give them your money." She told me,"The whole system over there is corrupt." I asked her if they (Laredo City Hall) heard about this sort of thing very often, (cops robbing gringos) and she told me,"All the time."

i drive into juarez, being careful to be at speed limit, go to a mp, finish the session & get back to the bridge.
off-topic: if you land at mumbai airport, india, than while exiting airport, you or your driver must pay 20 rs (about 30 cents) to the cop, thru the car window at very min speed. as soon as the cop has the money in his hand you are free and can zoom away. however, if you don't pay than there's another unit on standby on the road just outside airport & you are guranteed to have nightmare.
when renting taxi for motel bugambilias, if you don't want to be ripped than i would suggest that you act as if you been there before, ask the fare 1st and negotiate down.
i used to do this in early mongering days in juarez to mp's.
soraiya the owner of luxor informed me that whenever arriving with taxi inform the driver that i m repeat guest here and send him away. don't let him go in te mp with you.
that will save you in fare + $20-30 in mp session.
most mps charge $60 with taxi commission. without commission some prices are $40-luxor, $30-most other such as genesis, venus etc.
Thank you buddy. But when was the last time you saw her? I went last year to Felinas but the Madame told me that Coral was no longer works there. (Is it true?)
It's been a while since I saw her there, maybe a year also, so that may be true. Sad to know she does not work there anymore, she was great, cute enough and very enthusiastic, one of the best BJ's I ever had. But I bet she works on another MP, because she's been doing it for years and I doubt she's now working on another line of work. I first met her on Genesis, maybe she went back?
i just want to add to my previous post, the following. i asked an employee at laredo city hall what to do about crooked cops in nuevo laredo, and she told me,"don't argue with them, just give them your money." she told me,"the whole system over there is corrupt." i asked her if they (laredo city hall) heard about this sort of thing very often, (cops robbing gringos) and she told me,"all the time."
that is a primary reason the policia here in nuevo laredo were relieved of their duties. they are still not back, although the transit cops are, and still up to their old ways too. rumor has dates when the policia will be back, but those dates keep getting pushed back. meanwhile we have the navy, army, state and federal police, all patrolling, mainly in convoys of 2 or more vehicles, i am unaware of them messing with americans. the transit cops only mess with you if you drive, or ride a motorcycle. being stopped for speeding, when you weren't, failure to stop, when you did stop, passing a red light, when you did no such thing, those and any other reason you can think of, are still happening, daily. how can they expect anyone to respect them when this stuff goes on? really, there's no end to it. i guess the only explanation you can say is that it's still mexico. got to take the bad with the good, a shame really. seems they would want to promote tourism, to make money for the economy, but the cops just want money in their own pocket, screw the economy.
Seems they would want to promote tourism, to make money for the economy, but the cops just want money in their own pocket, screw the economy.
That about sums it up.
First time I was robbed in Juarez by the cops, they knew I lived in El Paso from my ID. After robbing me of about $150 bucks, they told me to get the hell out of Juarez. They told me if they saw me again in Juarez that day, they would throw me in jail.
Yeah, that's real good treatment for tourist dollars. My crime? They saw me walking down the sidewalk, with my Mexican tour guide, Ruben. That's a "crime" in Juarez. They robbed Ruben also, of the tip money I had already given him.
When I was robbed in Nuevo Laredo, cops found condoms in my pocket. I was simply walking down the sidewalk. They told me it was a crime to have condoms in your pocket.
i drive into juarez, being careful to be at speed limit, go to a mp, finish the session & get back to the bridge.
not a bad strategy, except i won't even drive over there. i just use taxis. i go straight to mp, do my thing, then get the fuck out of juarez.
i'd like to walk around juarez, and go to the various clubs and such, but hell no, i ain't gonna do that. too much risk of getting robbed and hassled by the cops.
I walked down to Imperium, but wasn't sure the building I saw was Imperium, so I didn't knock at the door. Was worried an old lady might live there, and she would start cussing me out.
Okay, to get to Imperium, tell taxi driver to take you to intersection of Guererro and Suarez. Tell him intersection is located at Hotel Puertadel Sol. Imperium is just a very short walk EAST of Hotel Puertadel Sol, on Guererro. Seems to me that someone reported here that there may be hookers working out of Hotel Puertadel Sol. Can't remember for sure, so don't hold me to that. And remember that Genesis is only about 4 blocks away (west) from Imperium. You can walk to Genesis, if you don't like what you see at Imperium. 300 pesos at both places. Below is map for Imperium.
