Oops! Sorry, for spreading false information. When I left Udon in May it was alive and kicking but I got the information from somebody who has just returned from Udon.
I called a local friend to check and he confirmed what Paul2020’s said. It hadn’t closed but the owner wanted to sell to move to Australia.

You are right Andre Cuipers - Issan is awful for mongering, and the only people who should do it is those of us who are stuck here and sometimes can't get to Pattaya for a while. It makes little sense to travel to the Northeast - there is simply nothing worth having there.

I suppose "hideous" means "hideous". But I just need to get an idea, so that I wont waste my time visiting that area.

I heard that a guy who used to spend his time in Khon Kaen with lots of bargain ladies around has now moved on to live in Phnom Phen which is even cheaper. Maybe Khon Kaen has gone downhill or maybe he just became too well known.

Well, I never take a photo. I'm a 'live in the moment' kind of guy - perhaps because most of my moments are best forgotten!
But they are quite unattractive, and few make up for it with a winning personality - the fake friendliness level is far, far less in Issan than in Pattaya. The girls are a lot more like hookers back home - cold, hard, and mean. To be fair, even though I'm a skeptic and find most Thai friendless to be fake, I think the girls in Pattaya are much more relaxed, and enjoying life. To live as a prostitute in a town of prostitutes is a lot more comfortable than being one of only a few 'bad girls' in a normal conservative Thai town.
Really though, the insatiably curious should go have a look for themselves, as no one wants to believe it till they see it.

For once Opebo, I disagree with you.
The Isaan women are certainly not as attractive overall as those plying their trade in Pattaya and in general are either less experienced or less willing to perform certain tasks, although far more are prepared to go without a condom.
However, in my experience I have never found them to be cold, hard an mean-rather the opposite. They are mostly fun, not clock watchers, and most are willing to be taught new tricks. On the contrary, Pattaya girls have hardened considerably over the past 20 years, and are now little more than mechanical money grabbers!

Visited Kosa with a fellow farang instead of Thais and the price was now around 1,700 for the dogs and 2,200 for the fairly pretty 'side girls'. I have no way of knowing if this was the same price for Thais. Of course nothing there was worth that money, though there were many more girls than on previous visits.
I went to Ceasar instead where the prices are prominently posted on the walls for all to see (even farangs can read Roman numerals). Though the girls are very slightly less good looking at least 1,200 baht all in for a 'soapy' isn't too ridiculous. Flabby ugly old hag though, but decent BJ and BBFS. On another day tried Princess Massage, within a 5-10 minute walk of Kosa, in the Princess-something Hotel. I know several places in I-San and especially in the Udon Thani and Nong Khai provinces. In my humble opinion, local "available" girls are prettier than those working in Pattaya or in Bangkok for a long time because they are in average younger, look more "natural" (not too much make-up), and dress themselves more conservatively. To really take advantage of and appreciate the local scene, one has to speak some Thai (or even better, the local dialect which is not much different than the Lao language) as very few girls (with the exception of young university students and. P4P girls back from Pattaya, Bangkok and other touristic areas! ) understand English.
I usually avoid the local students and girls having a "normal" occupation like the plague when I monger: too much trouble and a higher cost sooner or later. Unless you want to find a long-term companion or are ready to pay ridiculously high prices for a shag, you should do the same.
Most of the regular (I mean "not occasional" here) P4P girls in Udon Thani and Nong Khai provinces are Laotians. They usually come from small villages and are not much educated.
You can find them in several places (beer bars, brothels, karaoke clubs, in the street, etc.). Brothels often have my preference because they are usually convenient and cheap (but the comfort is minimal to say the least in most establishments).
Prices used to be lower, but nowadays, a farang (= Westerner) who can find these places by himself (= who comes not accompanied by a local) should not pay more than 500 baht in most of these places (basic room included), but it is only 300 or 400 baht where I go usually, and I've found several real gems there. For instance, in the city of Udon Thani, on Adunyadet Road, it's not very difficult to find the brothels. Almost all the houses in the "soi" (= small street) #2 are brothels. I am a regular in one of those and I pay only 300 baht, but 400 baht is now the "normal" price for Westerners in this area (you might be asked a higher price. 500 baht for instance. But if you smile, stay quiet, and explain that you know the normal prices, you will easily obtain a lower quotation). I saw Thai men paying 300 baht in these places. You may try to directly give only 300 hundred baht. If it's not enough, you will be asked for more and you can still gently argue that you know other places where it's only 300 baht (yes, they exist! ) even for Farang men.
Another place where you can find brothels is in a soi called "Soi Fai Deng" which is located very near the main CAT International Telephone office on Wattana Nuwong Road. Normal price for foreigners there is 300 baht in all brothels and you can have two "shots" for 500 baht in most places (but negotiate it in advance, not after the first shot, it's better). I've done that several times with girls who are really enthusiastic performers (anal and BBBJ+cim were on the menu). In this little street too, almost all "houses" are brothels.
Both above mentioned areas are usually opened the whole day, and that's why I think it's very convenient (not to mention the fact that you won't lose time there with various bullshits: straight to the point it is! ).
A less known place opens only at (approximately) 7pm. I am not sure about the closure time, but it's probably around 2am. It's located on Prajak Road, on the left side of the road when you are coming from the Clock Tower on your way to the train station (for instance), 20 or 30 meters after a shop that sells musical instruments. The normal price there is 300 baht (locals pay only 250 baht) and you can also have two shots for 500 baht.
Quality of the girls (beauty, performance, attitude, personality.) greatly varies from place to place. In average, girls are prettier than those working in Pattaya or Bangkok IMHO. Often, they are only 18 or 19-year old; 20 to 23-years old look like "veterans" in most establishments, but especially in the Soi Fai Deng, you can meet older girls (around 30 to 35-years old for instance) but they are not numerous. It's funny to notice that you often will find the same kind of girls in a brothel: older girls in one establishment, cutest girls (but usually not the best performers alas) in another one as if each house has its "specialty" (the most significant example of this is one brothel that I know in Nong Khai where almost all the girls have pretty impressive natural breasts, at least for Asian girls! ).
Sure, some girls will only let you do them "missionary" style (it's a shame that it is the case in one brothel where you can regularly find a few real stunners, but alas, of the starfish category! ). Bareback blow job is not that uncommon nowadays in I-San, but you may need to promise the girl an "incentive". Making her swallow your cum is certainly far more difficult to obtain especially if the girl is quite new at the job (older / more experienced girls would more likely consent). It's not difficult though to find a street worker (on Prajak Road, near the train station) who can do that for 200 or 300 baht after 10pm. A great majority (but not all) of them are ugly.
Anal is possible in brothels (you will need a lot of lubricant and patience in most cases, but it's not a rarity anymore). Strangely enough, I usually have better luck with slimmer girls and they seem to really enjoy anal sex once they have tried it. I sometimes have to do several attempts (in 3 or 4 encounters for instance) before the girl is relaxed enough for a frenetic anal sex session, but it's worth the time spent IMHO.
Some girls (but probably not the majority of them though) are OK for having "uncovered" sex (without condom) but it's not something that I do with hookers (except for blow jobs).
French kissing is not a common practice in I-San (it is not unusual in Pattaya, Bangkok and other more touristic area), but some girls will do it or are willing to learn it.
