After 3 nights in Vientiane, came here by Lao Airlines to meet up with 2 friends. Domestic fares not cheap, round trip Vie-LP-Vie cost about 160 USD for a short flight on ATR turboprop.

We did the normal tourist stuff in the day time, the cave day tour was nice. Sunset Mekong cruise was also nice. But the night came, hunting for a nice lady was not easy in this tourist town.

All these tuk tuks on the streets will ask you lady lady when you pass by. But when we actually tried we realized how bad the scene is here.

Next night again some over friendly tuk tuk driver wanted to bring so-called very beautiful girls to our room for viewing, he said "no like no pay okay". 10 min later he brought 3 girls to us, if these are so called very beautiful then we probably can screw a skunk in the forest. He insists have some more and wanted to show us. Then 10 min later he brought again 3 very mediocre ones, one friend already gave up and went to the night market, so I and another friend decided just to take one each, thinking unattractive girl may provide excellent service. The tuk tuk man tried to dig 50 USD a piece out of us, he probably would keep 30 USD for himself. We insisted to pay him 15 USD for intro and we pay the girls 30 USD ourselves. He wasn't too happy but take it or otherwise no deal.

I found one shack with 4 or 5 girls (report before), very friendly, after quite a long walk in the dark. I saw some fairylights further down the road, but was strenuously warned not to go there by the people in the first house.

This border town of Laos and China is thriving on casinos which seems to be the main drive of economy there.

The town is in Laos territory but is in fact more like a Chinese small town. Most if not all sign posts are in Chinese and only Chinese RMB is used with Kip virtually not usable.

Action start with sunset there; but you may need to be able to speak Chinese. Go to the area in front of Royal Casino where girls will take turn to hand you business card with the shop name address, phone number and her own number. I walked pass the area 2 rounds and got about 50 cards. The price was 300 RMB per session and the girl would go to hotel where you stay.

Otherwise, there is scheduled mini bus from Luang Namtha departing several times a day; but very often it just does not depart due to inadequate passenger.

The road is generally good except half way from Huay Xai to Luangnamtha which can be bumpy.

Took a small truck driver up on his offer for girls.

First went to some shack-like complex where he banged on a few doors / windows and got no response.
