Thanks Terry (and Freeler for the PMs), but annoyingly the inquiring party doesn't wish to fly.
6+ hours on the bus- nasty- how often do the buses run? My friends reach Trat at an odd time and wish to reach BKK fast.
How long would a taxi take?
Driving would take between about four hours. If you take a taxi it would cost about 3,000 to 3,500 baht I reckon. Petrol costs are on the rise so this is a guestimate.
You'd be better of renting a mini van service (depending upon how many are in the group). Should run about the same price as a taxi and more comfy.

I'm planning on going to Sukhothai and Nong Khai. I understand that there is little action in Nong Khai, but does anyone have info on Sukhothai? Any suggestiins as to where to stay and where to go playing?
Thanks
Fred
this border town is active with visa runners and travelers to go into laos. the night action here has 2 types. there are some karaoke pick up joints rep001tered around town and many girls are from across the border. i once picked up a girl from a karaoke joint for all night for 1500. the quality overall was bit below average compared to udon or bangkok.
then there are also lots of lady houses around town. i hired a motorbike boy and took me to about 5-6 places and some houses had more than 15 girls and mostly of lao origins. [blue][deleted by admin][/blue] but i overall most these girls look kind of sad and unhappy and dressed poorly. so i did not get interested in them. also the rooms that they provide for sex are all very dirty that most of us foriegners may not bear it. these lady houses are mostly for thai men for cheap screw.
editor's note: [blue]this report was edited to removal references to **** persons.
i am aware that the vast majority of references to **** girls are legitimate attempts to warn other fellow members about how easy it is to accidentialy pickup an **** girls, the potential dangers of being caught with **** girls, etc. however, past discussions in the forum has repeatedly demonstrated that the subject simply cannot be discussed intelligently, in any form or for any reason, without being misinterperated, and without starting flame wars.
anyway, to avoid delays in future reports, please do not post references to **** persons in the forum. thanks![/blue]
Okay, so not much of scene for mongers in Khon Kaen, but should you find yourself there I highly recommend hunting at the discos, especially those at the Novotel and Charoen Thani hotels.
Plenty of get-able girls at those places; freelancers, opportunist-freelancers, and just girls wanting to have fun.
For students and other younger-chicks check out the Times Square bars.
Every hotel I have ever stayed at in Khon Kaen has been guest-friendly.
Speaking good Thai or Issan is extremely useful in Khon Kaen.
Just came back From Khon Kaen On the 10th. I was there to visit my online girlfriend so I did not go mongering. I stayed at the Khon Kaen Hotel and it had a night club in the lobby where the girls would sit in chairs by the door and wait for someone to invite them in. Kind of looked like a "cab stand". Saw many Farang's with young and beautiful Thai Girls in the halls of the hotel.
After dark there are many places to find a lady. Just ask any Tuk Tuk driver for a lady and for 40 bath they will take you to the go go bars. I went to the Charvs? (pic) and they have many girls around 19- 25yr in club. At about 10:00pm the dancers appear and start dancing on little raised stages ,Wow hot looking ladies all. The reg. bar girls looked geat, Just like any hot collage girls. But the main dancers were knock outs. I was there with three "strait" girls but they told me you can have any reg. girls for 1000 bath and the main dancers for about 5000 bath. I know you can find better deals but this in what I was told. Khon Kaen was a great place, many people speak english and the girls are everywhere. Thai ladies all wanted to rub my big belly. It is a heaven for fat guys. This town is perfictly save to wander and explore.
Greetings fellow Travelers,
Does anyone have any information on the girlie scene in Hua Hin? I have 5 days to spend on a beach in Thailand and I've been everywhere else already. I don't need the crowds and mass commercialism. Just a beautiful beach, some restaurants and bars, and a decent selection of young, beautiful Thai girls for rent.
Thanks.
CM
Chazzman,
Try the search button and type 'hua hin', but you won't find much because there isn't a big scene in Hua Hin.

During a visit to Koh Tao in early October, I saw that some of the girls hanging out at various open-air bars had a distinct bar girl look and manner about them. The island, known as a backpacker haven, is slowly becoming more and more upscale, and so demand for such services could be on the rise. Anyone have more information?
HHAD.com don't have a girlssection on their board. It's their policy, as fare as I know.
Have to correct - sorry
The people from HHAD.com actually in the meen time changes their mind. Now theres a girli'section on the board. So far witout any 'reel' content, of course.
Can a farang easily find pay for play activities in Thailand no matter what part of Thailand they are in? Does rural Thailand have the same type of opportunities as metropolitan Thailand only on a smaller scale? I seem to remember reading that a white westerner would radically stand out in some parts of Thailand, but I have a hard time believing that is still the case in this day and age of easy travel. Are there very many Thais who have not visited the big cities of Thailand?
I have been to Pattaya and am thinking about a few months visit to rural Thailand. I want to experience something very different from where I am now (central U.S.), but not so different that I would have a hard time coping.
Thanks for any info.
