I note you don't include yourself in the group that ties up the space with useful information. Why don't you take a crack at contributing any useful information sometime... maybe travel to Cali and post a report... maybe post a report on any destination (other than your TJ info, btw thanks).
If the community prefers, I'll not post a trip report and instead email it to the Cali section regulars and friends... let me know.

Troll, get fuck off this board.

Hi,
Chorizo's sarcastic statements are inducing Leo to not post his report. That is not a good thing.
I got no beef with anyone. But getting cranky at someone because they are posting information that is useful to some, though perhaps not to all, seems to me uncharitable and useless.
I look at these boards as places where I get ideas for when I travel. Not as a replacement for travel. So, if someone is not providing that vicarious thrill for you, my advice is to book that ticket and go live your life.
Leo, I'll accept that report if you won't post it on the board. Thank you.

I truly appreciate the ATM talk and want to get to the bottom of this. Thanks to the infinite greed of my US banks, I pay up to $150 of fees every month for ATMs (that is half of my rent for my 2000 sq. foot appartment). Needless to say that it affects my lifestyle by taking that money away from me. Contrarely to some 'people''s input, this is not in the same categrory as saving on toilet paper.
WSG is filled with narrow minded, uneducated, selfish and rude people trying to find their way through unattainable happiness by traveling to Colombia and meeting with a lady that they wouldn't deserve in a thousand years. I personaly decided to stop posting on WSG since there are too many of these sub-humans that do not deserve any help whatsoever to travel.
On the other side though, I had the chance to meet a few of great quality both online and here in Cali. So, there are some chances that I can continue participating in some interesting talks. ATMs is at the top of my wish list for the Cali thread.

Don River and others.
Many thanks for your feedback and comments. It's highly appreciated.
The American Embassies in the respective countries has much information if anyone else has these thoughts.

On the topic of ATM
I don't have a Citybank account. But I noticed Citybank has branches in Cartagena, Bogota and Medellin. I guess there might be one in Cali. If so, would it be cheaper to make withdrawals if one had an account with Citibank?
Who has an account with Citybank and do they get charged when they withdraw money overseas?

I think that some people on this board really need to relax. If you want to discuss ATM fees, discuss away. I personally find this pretty boring, but, hey, to each their own.
Leo, if you want to post a report on your trip to Cali then post one, and I am sure we will all gratefully read it. Please, however, spare us the melodramatic "I'll take my ball home" attitude. If you don't like how someone responds to one of your posts ignore them or respond to them, whatever you want, but don't be a drama queen hoping that others will run to your defense to avoid losing your fount of wisdom. Posting a report is at your pleasure and discretion.
Antifreeze, I am sure that you are a nice guy but some may say that calling people narrow minded, uneducated and selfish is fairly rude in and of itself, particularly when you have never met them. I also doubt that you are really in a position to determine what others deserve. Again post and participate if you want, or don't, the board will be here either way.
Chorizo, you shouldn't use racial slurs and stereotypes and you should follow your own advice on the "chill pill."
If you want to know a bank's policy regarding ATM charges in foriegn countries you're probably better off contacting the bank, this will likely be more reliable than someone elses recollection of their experience.
Just my opinions.

On this topic, i should be interested to know what is the usual amount of cash (€ or us$) that Change Houses can accept, what seems to be their maximum, and are the ones in the airports or in the malls usually the safest ?
Thanks

Anybody know a good cheap place I can get my shoes shined in Cali? I don't want to pay more than $2.
-
Funny thing happened on my way to the ATM...I got laid.
-
Hey Chuponalgas,
What I like to do is get a girl from Kaliente for 3 hours I make sure that we're through with the luvin in an hour and a half. That gives her and hour and a half to do my laundry, fold my clothes and shine my shoes. Just a little tip.

I would like to apologize for actually mentioning a gentleman's club in my last post I realize that this board has tried to stay away from such issues recently. I will try to avoid the mention of such places in the future. I really like the green ATM's with the little curtains.
-
Upon further review I realize that I also recently made a comment along the lines of "I got laid" and also mentioned a "girl." Again I apologize. The red ATM's with the like native guys face are cool too. And I really like the change houses. Thanks.

Change Houses? ATM’s? Bank Fees? How about discussing something important like French Showers (they save money and water)? Oh. how about coupons? Does anyone know which Cali Newspaper has the best coupons? Also, I need a good butcher.
Well apparently that nut Chorizo was right. This forum is being filled with mindless dribble. Hey, how about discussing the ladies (places to visit, quantity, quality, and prices).
All other matters are probably best discussed via private message.
