A[/QUOTE]Rates are one issue, the banks at airport exchange currency with a buy back guarantee. Unless you are someone that hits BKK or Pattaya multiple times a year, I think its good idea to have this as back up. In case you have any THB's left.

A[/QUOTE]All seasoned travellers avoid buying foreign money at forex in Airports. They do not offer good rates and charge a fee sometimes. Always change your dollars once you land at destination airport. Usually there are banks.

I did a quick search and called some forex people and got to know that multiple conversions is will only make me lose money. If I already had USD with me, its profitable to exchange to THB at the airport as they give better rates for USD than INR.

Hi all, I have just visited Thailand for about 10 days in dec-jan and can give you some tips.

I bought some THB and some USD in India, around 15th December. At that time, I was getting USD at 52. 75 Rs per USD and little quantity of bhat at 1. 73 Rs per THB. Major quantity of THB was available at Rs 1. 8 Rs per THB.

The idea and the trick is to compare the exchange rates on websites, where you will get conversion rates from USD to THB. During December time the conversion was 31 THB to 1 USD. So I calculated that if I paid 51750 Rs to get 1000 USD and then to exchange for 31000THB, whereas (at 1. 8 rate in india) I was ending up paying Rs 55800 to get the same 31000 THB! So it was cheaper to buy USD and convert when I reached BKK city, instead of buying THB in india. It made sense (for me) to buy THB in india only if I was getting it at 1. 7 Rs per THB or cheaper. So you can do the similar calculation as per the current exchange rates.

My observations In BKK. 1) The exchange rates will be better from counters that are near or inside the shopping malls. 2) 100 USD notes will get you better exchange rates than 1, 5.10, 20 USD notes. 3) TCs will get you better exchange rates than currency notes.

DO NOT get money exchanged at the airports as you will be ripped off! Just carry 500THB or convert that much at BKK airport as it will be enough to take you to the city by taxi. Follow the "Bangkok reports" thread in the Thailand section where you will get lot of info on travel to and from BKK airport into the city and various modes of transports available.

Your stay. Last time they made a guy go withdraw money from ATM just to prove that travellers can support themselves during their stay in Thailand.

Western Union will probably give you a better forex rate than banks would.

Dear Members,

Today I searched in craiglist and found on contact interesting with Name: Akash and number ends with 52967 and contacted him. He said he has a beautiful lady from Mangalore and even showed the photo from his mobile, which was very tempting. He even promised that the place (somewhere near Brigade Road) is a corporate guest house. Finally we landed to the spot and it happens to be a crap hotel where in 3rd floor all rooms (1BHK, one big hall with attached toilet) are meant for this. He did a good job of collecting the Fees before entering the hotel. The greatest Dakka was when I entered inside the room, she was totally different, to be sorry to say this, its hard to pay 1k. Since I didn't had any control of walking out, since money was already taken, I did one round very fast and left the place.

My Suggestion to all who are willing to take the service from Akash or from any SP.

1. Never hand over the money before you see the girl.

2. Never believe the SP's.

Was in the Garden City a week ago and called all my usual contacts. They gave me some leads, but nothing interesting. So resorted to calling the ads in D*cc*and H*a*the. One of the advertisers told me he knew a small-time model who was available for "nothing less than 35" for ST. Asked me to call back the next day.

Called him the next day and he insisted that I go to J*why*nagar to meet with this model. This was a long way off for me, but I decided to given the lack of other options. He asked me to go to a C*ee D*why and wait there. So I did. After about 30 minutes, a tall and shapely lady walked in. I was sure she was 'her' and (she later said) she was sure, I was 'him'. Anyway, she pointedly ignored me and sat down and ordered something.

In the meantime, my phone kept ringing. It was the SP. He came in and joined me. Told me she was the one and asked me if I was interested. Told me she was in it for the money and for the s*x (not sure if this was true, but he didn't need to lie about this). She was tall and definitely attractive, but certainly did not have a model's physique. Turns out, she was in ads that involved her being in a saree (if I get more specific, too many people might recognize her!). So her pretty face and features are showcased, but not her legs etc. But she had great be*bs too. So my decision was definitely 'yes', but I wanted to negotiate. His offer was 35K for 3 hours. I countered with 15K for the same time. We finally settled on 17K. Not sure if I paid too much, but I didn't care. I felt she was worth it. And was very clearly different from the contract girls I had seen with most SPs.

The deal done, the SP asked me to go outside and walk in a particular direction. The girl, N*ha, walked out and headed in the same direction. She flagged down an auto and asked him to go to B. She was VERY friendly during the ride, to the extent that the auto driver assumed we were a couple. We headed to a place owned by her friend, which she rents as needed.

Once inside, she got a lot friendlier. Started with a relaxing massage and fplay. Gave a really good BJ and generally made me feel like a prince. The first round was mish, which took a long, long time. I'll leave the rest to the readers imagination, but I felt really good about meeting this lady. There was something warm and genuine about her. I do have her digits, but she asked me to be selective about sharing them. So, please have something in exchange and be sure of seeing her if you want to request her number.

the modus operendi being the same, (checking the girls in the car with dark glasses) , i was horrified to see 3 girls from the worst lot i have ever seen. one of them looked like a hijra and i was really appalled. on rejecting the lot, i was being forced to pay 6k. however, being a open main road with a lot of people, i had the courage to fight them and offered only 100 rs. as taxi money. to make the description short, i was surrounded by 3 goons and after a lot of chatting a loud noises with me getting a bit afraid, paid them 1000 rupees and fled the spot to a nearby popular hotel which they could not enter.

i was really ruffled by the entire episode and have taken it upto myself as to never venture into unknown areas. money apart, it is the fear of diseases from these girls / eunuchs and long term repercussions (physical and mental).
