_ LDV, I don't think you will find a GFE here, as in they might be back there the next night.

- Gifts will be accepted but they are not overly impressed with them unless it's gold.

- Yes girls will go on a day trip to the islands, careful of them setting up other clients when they are out of sight.

- Like I said there are not many places to hang out, drink and meet other mongers except maybe the beach. Nightlife is groups of friends or backpackers in hostels.

You can find it quite lonely when not with your girl.

The airfare is crazy for December. I'm trying to book my trip now. In some cases it is more expensive than Brazil. What gives? It is almost double from a few years ago. I should have long bypassed Sosua, but now the economics are out of control when you factor in the higher prices for everything else. I'm planning my Brazil trip at the beginning of March, so I can't bump that.

This will be my first trip to Colombia. I'm really excited to go somewhere new. I don't think I will be comfortable in Medellin since my Spanish is limited. I had a hard time in Barcelona when trying to talk to regular chics, so I know it will be difficult there and I'm not a big fan of casas.

This sucks. I envy guys that live near the hubs. These Midwest flights are a beatch!

Bogota prices tend to be a little cheaper and numerous connections directly into Cartagena.

I fly directly from Miami to Cartagena and the Avianca option is usually not cheap. Jet Blue is slowly adding flights to Colombia. Another option.

OK, I haven't been to Cartagena in 4 years so should probably keep my mouth shut. However, no GFE at LDV? That was an incredibly easy place to wife up. It's a freelancer hangout, so there are no big barfines to pay to get your date out of the establishment, and she probably hasn't already had 5 or 10 penises shoved up her snatch that night. A lot of the women were from other cities and didn't have family in Cartagena. So finding ones that would do overnighters, hang around the next day, go out on dates or day trips wasn't problematic. It wasn't unusual for my date to want to camp out in my apartment. I felt like Charlie Sheen, I was paying them to leave.

Maybe part of the difference of opinion involves cost and how attractive the women are. Some of the women in LDV used to be (and I assume still are) very attractive. And they weren't cheap by Colombian standards, unless you compare to high end clubs in Bogota. Yeah, if you're looking for GFE for 30,000 to 100,000 pesos from a 5 or a 6, LDV isn't the place to go. There are other places in other cities that are much better.

In reading the board recently, it sounds like Pleyboy is a good option as far as strip clubs, scoping out around the Clock tower is good for street scene, and Playa Blanca is hit or miss as far as girls walking the beach looking for customers.

Does anyone have any other good current comprehensive info regarding the street scene, clubs like LDV, or casas? It doesn't sound like casas are a big thing in Cartagena, but I ran into this info elsewhere. The info is a couple years old, so wondering if it is still current.

Casas / Brothels. It is hard to get addresses; everyone says the Taxi driver will know.

All these areas below outside of El Centro are not safe to walk around in. Always use a taxi driver that you know and have him wait.

Bruselas

Street Action.

1. El Laguito and Bocagrande, around LDV. Prices: 50-80k.

2. Along Avenida San Martin.

There are a few on the corner of San Martin (Carrera 2) and Calle 5a, across the street from the short time Hotel El Pueblito. They are asking between 80k-100k. If you hang at the Café Arepas Pues a few chicas will walk by.

This café seems like it could be a good monger meeting place.

A few chicas in front of the Casino Rio, San Martin and Calle 6.

3. Plaza de los Dulces around the Clock Tower in El Centro (Old City) late night. Prices: 50-80k.

4. In front of Bar California, on the other side of the Clock Tower, outside the walls, past the gardens, where Calle Media Luna begins (Getsemani). And along the Calle there are more. In the day time, they are in the garden. Sometimes, they move to the streets close by.

Going to the more remote locations away from the tourist area it would be good to have someone to go with who knows the ropes.

I'm hoping this August is not a as bad as that. From hotel perspective, it looked fairly open. Maybe I can mingle with the guys from Israel. L'chaim.
