The price range is much bigger in Medellin because it's a very popular mongering city and prices have increased a lot the past year. I had one quote me $200 USD for a day. Another wanted 450 K COP per hour and wouldn't lower the rate even if I wanted to meet longer. I passed on both of them and found women who would spend half the day with me for 500 K or less (after our initial date of 2-3 hours).

And as some of the other members suggested, look for other opportunities (prepagos, brothels, etc.) because the women online might reschedule or cancel last minute.

Everything can be found in 4 or 5 blocks on that main street right in front of hotel. It is very vibrant with open restaurants, clubs and bars, street vendors, etc. It goes late night. I don't want to have any paper trails etc. So, will be avoiding using insurance information. I believe the generic prep pills are pretty cheap. But, just in case, I decide to use the truvada / descovy, would you know if I use the insurance, will they send any kind of paperwork / bills to my home? A friend of mine was robbed this past weekend in his AIRBNB, two perpetrators were somehow able to get into the building and were waiting outside the door of his apartment when he opened it up to leave. Not sure how long they were waiting in the hallway or why no neighbors saw anything, I mean it's their building too. One guy had a revolver, held at his side, not pointed, and stood back while the main thief who did all the talking had a knife. They got everything of value except his passport, THC gummies and a money belt, which my buddy considered a win since the belt has 500 USD.

Supposedly the police didn't seem to care, had a "so what, another foreigner got robbed, I need to get home to eat supper". The security cameras have a technical difficulty so there is no tape.

My buddy didn't resist. He was not hurt, he didn't have any girls with him and no one knew he was there and what was the address, except for me and obviously the airbnb owner.

I feel bad but I work from home in Medellin and can't really have guests stay over during this critical time at work, it would be too distracting, so I recommended an airBnb near me in the Boston / Buenos Aires area. Crime and homelessness is up a little bit here but I never thought it was this bad.

I am recommending a hotel from now on to anyone coming down. It seems all the protective measures in place with airBnB are for the owner and not the guest.

Was he in some bad area or unknown building, no security? I can't imagine this in the known gringo and tourist airbnb's.

How bad is the crime really, or is it just many more foreigners are coming to MDE these days, can you be robbed in Parque Lleras walking around where it's usually full of police present, or robbed in a taxi? I've always taken street taxis in the past and never had an issue, hope is still safe these days.
