Angeles City

Anyone else had problems getting a cancelation refund from these clowns? I have waited 6 months with a dozen phone calls and emails to their hotel management without any luck.
I was told by several staffers that there are numerous complaints regarding refunds. Thats nice to know!
Beware if you plan to book a room there and may have to cancel. Nice place to stay but its not professionally managed.
I will have a face to face with the owner when I pass thru next month. Possibly someone not letting the owners know whats happening.?

With Lewis Grand hotel, I guess when you book through these guys you also have to pay upfront? With Pacific Breeze, I booked the hotel rooms but, I had a choice on paying on arrival at the hotel or when I'm checking out. This worked out good because one of our friends decided to stay back in Cebu and did not come with us to Angeles City. I was able to cancel 1 of the 3 rooms I booked.

I booked through their website, and then had to cancel...didn't have any problems getting a refund, although it took a while to actually get the money, but they did tell me it would take about a month.

I do agree about their management though....The last time I stayed there, it took me over an hour to check out because they could not get my bill right, first the didn't deduct the 1 night I had payed in advance. The there were a whole bunch of mini bar charges on the bill that were not accurate, then they wanted to charge me for an airport pickup where they did not show up.

I like the hotel, but the front office/desk leave something to be desired. I hope you get a face to face with the owner, and that he fixes some of the problems with the hotel.

Thanks for your input. I stayed there before and I really liked the hotel, but since before Christmas I noticed that things had changed. I dont know if it has anything to do with the new GM who use to be a bar manager on Fields? Not my choice for a hotel thats aiming for a more affluent traveller. I wrote him 3 times..no response , emailed the marketing dept 2x and the reservation dept 3xcalled the hotel 6 times looking to speak to someone but they would not put the call thru. Something is going on there and I think the owner should get his head out of his ass.

I have stayed there at Pac breeze on 3 occaisions. The big glaring difference between these hotels is that Pac breeze is under proper management. The place just runs smoothly and they take customer concerns seriously. No surprise who I go out of my way not to recommend!

I think you exaggerate, give me the dates and I can confirm whether it was storm conditions or a light breeze that land lubbers couldn't take in stride.

As for the mishap - Nope - Seaair never had any fatal accident, and the Manila mishap was a aquaplaning incident, as the plane was directed to an un-grooved runway, and the plane skidded off ..

Seaair is professionally managed, and the Let's (the baby dorniers) are also FAA certified, and are widely in use in Europe, and you couldn't get a tougher plane to fly you out of Caticlan, especially in bad weather conditions ..

And if you think Cebu Pac and PAL are safer to Caticlan, you are mistaken - both fly planes which are larger than the landing distance there, and virtually both are on the edge of their limits - and the idea of flying in an ATR 72 to a 800 meter runway in not my idea of fun ..

Personally, I think Boracay is over rated, chicks wise it sucks. You can get some local talent at cocomangas shooters bar, last time I was in there was about 4 yrs ago with Mrs Spamhog and everytime she went to the Cr I had some dolly rushing up wanting to take her place. they also have "native" themed huts or rooms if you stay there you could waltz one of them back for a quickie or whatever or make it your HQ.

The few times I've been to Boracay I've always brought my own, that should be your strategy, you will have to find one you can tolerate for two or three days which is about all Boracay is good for. Something else you might consider is tourist foreigners, I've seen LOTS of european girls, and scads of Koreans and Japanese, they love to dance, you might thin one out of the herd.

One strategy might be to find the most kinky perverted, Bi-filipina you can in Angeles/Manila (shouldn't be too hard) who is into 3 somes, drag her along to Boracay and see if you can bag some drunk, horny Ozzie or Kiwi Sheila.

I think the rooms at Lewis Grand are much better. I think pre-booking with Pacific Breeze is good. But, when you land, call up Lewis Grand and check up on the weekly specials. You will find that Lewis Grand is a better buy when getting the specials and have bigger rooms. Also, if you stay longer than a week you get a discount. Pacific Breeze is one month for longevity discount. One more thing, Pacific Breeze has a rodent problem. But, don't get me wrong, Pac Breeze has a nice product. I like the proximity to fields (like right there!). I like the quality and spaciousness of Lewis Grand's rooms. Check out Affinity Condos. They have a nice product and a great pricing point for us. Ask about discounts. I think a lot of us forget to ask about this. The hotels are begging for our business. We have to take advantage of this!

fully agreed! Boracay is first and foremost a place for beach vacations. Certainly you will find there girls too, but for our hobby MNL or AC would be undoubtedly the much better choice! IMHO of course!

That always seems to enter the convo when you talking to the filipina girls,and they are quite shocked when you say you have not been there before. Im not a total beach fanatic,I can take it or leave it. One thing I heard is its a ***** to travel there,and they brag about the WHITE SAND beaches.. Mayntain, I know what you are talking about, although I look at it in a slightly different way.

I guess I am a beach fanatic and I have travelled around the world looking for the perfect beach. What I have found is that usually a great beach destination and a great girl destination are two mutually exclusive entities. For example Pattaya is great for girls, but the beach sucks. AC is great for girls and they don’t even have a beach. Bangkok, Macau, and Sao Paulo again are great for girls and they don’t have beaches.

It’s like a law of nature. If your priority is for the girls, then the beach scene will have to take a backseat, and if beaches are your priority, then the girls have to take a backseat or a leave of absence. Yet there are a few places where you can have your cake and eat it too. I recommend Rio, Phuket, and Koh Samui. Rio is the only place I can think of that is in the top five for girls and also has a pretty damn good beach. On the other hand, Phuket and Koh Samui have real nice beaches with an acceptable night life although not even close to the action in Pattaya. Boracay has a good beach, but it cannot hold a candle to these two Thai islands in respect to the night life IMHO. Sabang might be a better Philippine alternative if you want to have both girls and surf.
