Out of curiousity, how did you stay in Colombia for an entire year? What type of visa did you have? 25 k investment does not seem like enough for a business visa. In 2017 the exchange rate was not as favorable as it is today.

A brief synopsis:

2017 I liquidated everything in the US and moved to Medellin, the plan was to be part of a new webcam studio. After 8 months the new studio didn't exist and the work for Juan wasn't enough to pay my expenses. The boss and I parted ways after I insisted on some compensation for my time. I struggled on for another 4 months before going back to the US and back to work.

The imaginary swindle is based on Paulie's delusions. I took a big gamble without knowing everyone who was in the game. The guy who recruited me didn't profit from me in the long run. His disagreement with me caused my roommate to force him into a much better deal for her and led her to work independently, losing him about half his income. Meanwhile, she remains a solid friend to me. The only thing he swindled out of me was the internet I paid for. However, had I been in my own apartment, my expenses would have quadrupled.

In my opinion, no attempt to swindle me was made. The guy just wasn't up to the task of running a webcam studio. Granted, I spent a year with almost no income and spent $25 k of my own money, but I consider it a fair trade.

For $25 k I took 1 year off from work. I spent 1 year in Colombia. I met a lot of new friends in Colombia. I got a very nice new laptop. I took classes to greatly improve my Spanish. I fucked a lot of Colombian women. I lost 60 pounds and got into good shape. And I got to start over.

Ending up in a big hole sucks. Climbing out of the hole feels great. Filling the hole and then climbing back up the ladder feels fantastic. If I hadn't blindly jumped at the deal I don't know where I would be today. However, I'm thrilled to be where I am now, so I consider the experience to be to my benefit.[/QUOTE]

Specifically the law says that if the 183 days spans multiple calendar years, you will be considered a tax resident for the second year. That said, I highly doubt anyone is going to come tracking you down, especially since you don't have a cedula.

To Gabacho who says it resets every January 1, I do not believe that to be true. The amount of days you can stay in the country in a calendar year resets on Jan 1, which makes sense since the limit is per calendar year. But this is not true with respect to taxes.

One of my favorite restaurants there is Crepes why Wafles, the Chicken and Broccoli crepe is my all time favorite. It pretty popular so you will probably encounter a waiting line. Caduff Pasta Fresca is also a great place with home made pasta. This place is owned by a English speaking European guy, I forgot his name though. Parmessano close to Parque Segundo is also good, usually a wait there too. Ammazza Gin Garden is also really good. La Pampa is an Argentinian steak house that I have been a few times the Baby Beef is really good. Anyway there are hundreds of restaurants there all within walking distance and there is also the food court at the UniCentro mall that has lots of places to eat too.

To qualify for a 6 month student visa you have to prepay for 3 months of classes at an accredited institution. Prepay for 6 classes for a 1 year visa. Cost was about 3. 3 million for 3 Spanish classes at EAFIT. Classes are 5 days per week, 2 hours per day, for 4 weeks. If in Colombia the student visa can only be done at the Migracion office in Bogota.

Once you have any visa, other than the tourist visa, you have to get a cedula de extranjero. You can get that from any Migracion office.

The way it worked out my student visa expired 1 year and 6 days after my initial entry.

So, for example, a monger who no longer posts on ISG spent a lot of time in Medellin. He was at 170 days and decided to come on Christmas Eve and planned on staying a month.

Afterall there were only 7 days left in 2021 and January 1 would reset right?? Wrong! He had 8 days which only took him to 178 BUT he had not left the country so his reset didn't start.

Until he exited and reentered the country. In other words, if he had stayed over into 2022 he would have run over the 180 days because the reset didn't occur until his existing entry stamp was matched with an exit stamp. He checked on this and made a two day trip to Panama City to accomplish his exit and then his reentry started the new year and the 180 days limitation.

Walking around, I definitely see a lot of different options. I look forward to eating at all these different places. And yes last night I was eating some tasty pussy from a 18 year old girl. I'd be interested in hearing from an El Centro regular who can perhaps clarify if my experience at Barra Ejecutiva was most likely a one-off (a chica trying to rip me off, rather than a sea change in strip club chica pricing).

On my return to Medellin early this month, I've twice had great luck finding a "hidden-gem"/"diamond-in-the-rough" beauty of a chica at Barra Ejecutiva. During many prior visits to the El Centro Clubs (most often Conejitos), I usually have walked out after finding only 3 or 4 marginally "doable" chicas at work, and the rest of the available ladies I wouldn't take to bed even if they paid me. and with the exception of my two "finds" the same proved true at Barra Ejecutiva.

I had great sessions with both of these hot chicas on the premises (good energy, DFK, BBBJ, and with one of them, to my surprise, slipping me in bareback). The 1 hour payment to the club was 250,000 (which seemed a bit steep for an El Centro club compared with what I vaguely recalled from my visit last August / September, but for me acceptable in the context of overall inflation here. I also gave them each a propina for the GFE extras).

Last night I returned to see one of these chicas (the other had returned to Venezuela a few days after I met her). When I asked her to a room, she told me that, since my visit 2 weeks ago, the club manager had raised the 1 hour price to 330,000 (including 30k for the room). While she went to the ladies room, I tried to double-check this pricing with one of the waiters, but he replied that I had to speak to the chica. When my lady friend returned, I attempted o clarify with her whether that was just her new price, or if it was the new charge for all the girls in the joint. With raggaeton blaring from the speakers and my imperfect Spanish, I wasn't sure what she said, but I think she implied that it was an across the board increase. In any event, I took a walk. 330 k to screw in a sleazy joint like Barra Ejecutiva (one stellar feature: the route to a room with your chosen girl, takes you into the men's room and through a hole in the wall of the toilet stall) is incredibly right up there with the going rates at La Isla and Fase II. (The latter now charges 300 k for 45 minutes.).

Can one of you El Centro hands chime in and let us know whether I was being ripped off, or if prices at Barra Ejecutiva (and perhaps elsewhere in El Centro) have really escalated that dramatically since late last year?

Mostly for drinks though, not for the girls. I think I paid 80.000 when I was last there, but TBH if your asking for 1 hour it would be more. The girls also will try to charge you what they can, even if there is a standard rate. The mesero's response tells you that. I don't go there often enough to help you more. I avoid the place due to the prices. I also avoid Conejitos due to the staff attitude. I like to stand at the bar and have a beer and chat with the girls and the staff. I don't like to be processed like a farm animal.
