Nana hotel
Stayed at the Nana hotel for several nights on this last trip, first time using this hotel. Hotel is basic and cheap, its location being a huge draw. The rooms are dated, the bathrooms are even worse. They say that some rooms are in pretty good shape while some rooms are trashed, luckily both of my rooms (2 stays) the rooms were of decent quality. Wifi is ok but you have to constantly log back onto their website with your phone if you leave the room and return. The hotel did get sold out during my stay so if you do get a room in poor shape you probably won't be able to swap rooms. Pool was fantastic though compared to the rooms. I'll stay there again for sure, it was super easy to walk the girls back to the hotel when they started tugging on you to take them to the short time room in Nana plaza.
Stayed at the Nana hotel for several nights on this last trip, first time using this hotel. Hotel is basic and cheap, its location being a huge draw.
I agree with you on the Nana Hotel for the reasons stated. I would add a decent buffet breakfast, and certainly ground zero for SW scene. A couple more tips for this hotel:
1) They have always given me a gratis early check-in (around 8 am) no problem, and on departure day they allow you to extend your checkout until 8 pm for 50% of the daily rate. Convenient for those late night flights departing from BKK.
2) When making the reservation request a high floor room as they are quieter.
3) For longer stays they give you a 10% discount for 15 nights or more, and 20% discount for 30 nights or more. Cheap becomes cheap cheap and damn cheap.

It's the perfect location for many things, especially the ladies of the street who hang around the hotel.

Phachara Policy
I was looking at the Pachara Suites across the road for my upcoming trip, because they have spacious Suites / Studios with Balcony. However I read in some reports on Trip advisor that they charge a Joiners fee of 1000 THB if you bring 2 Guests within a 24-hour period. I wrote an email to Pachara Suites to confirm this a few days ago but they have not answered yet. If they don't answer by tomorrow I will just book Dynasty Grande again.
Has any of you had some experience with the joiner policy at Pachara Suites?
Yep, the Phachara Suites charged me 1000 Baht to bring 2 girls up to my room at the same time. Receptionist pointed out a sign on the desk when we were leaving their IDs at the desk. Don't know if they charge for serial individual guests in a 24 hour period though.
I used to see too many LBs in this Hotel a few years ago, like in the lobby and lifts. Still like that?
Not at all. They do have a few ugly working grandma's that sit outside and say 'Hello,' every time you pass.

They do have a few ugly working grandma's that sit outside and say 'Hello,' every time you pass.
I don't feel the need to be quite so close to so many hookers and ladyboys. I don't want the Soi 4 freelancers and daytime bar girls to have constant tabs on my comings and goings as well. Prefer to stay in at least a short distance away. If someone asked where I stay, I would not want to proudly say the "Nana Hotel" either. LOL That would be nearly as bad as staying in Soi 7/1 next to Eden, Dr. BJ, etc.
Dynasty grand has really great spacious bathrooms, with good shower cubicles (not over bath). Pool is good too. Weakness was the food was very poor standard when I stayed there, for any meals other than a basic breakfast. This view could be out of date if they got a new chef. Suggest eat somewhere else.
Reception girls were rather lovely too.
There is only one reception girl who could be considered "lovely" at the moment. Her name is Michelle, she's Singaporean, and she's a ****. I don't stay there anymore specifically because I can't stand that *****. The food does suck there, always has. But the front desk help was awesome when that place first opened. It's a shame they have that Singaporean twat working the desk now.

Arize Hotel
For my upcoming trip in June I am considering Arize Hotel on soi 26. I usually stay on soi 11 but this time I am planning to have a go at the oilies and Arize appears to be a good hotel at a convenient location. I am pretty sure it is a girl friendly hotel and just a few minits walk from BTS Phrom Pong. Anyone stayed there recently? Would appreciate feedback.

The area hookers are generally as harmless & religious as people you'ld find anywhere else in LOS.
In accumulated years of staying there using good safety measures I was never robbed or had my room broken into, even though many ladies knew my room number.
On my application for numerous tourist visas to Siam, I had no problems as a result of writing the name of the hotel I always stayed in in Bangkok.
I see no reason to be phobic about staying at this hotel, unless one is scared of the occasional insects commonly found throughout Thailand.

I had a creepy experience once when a tall ladyboy got in the lift and got out at my floor and at first I thought was following me. However stopped at some other guy's door knocked, and a much shorter guy welcomed "her" with big hug.
Rooms could be very dingy, although its many years since I stayed (over 15). I prefer a more modern hotel with "new" rooms. E. g. Mermaid, Column, Mercure, Dynasty Grande, Majestic Grande, etc. Worst problem is to be seen coming and going by girls I know in the street, or to be asked by friends where I am staying. Any more classy type of girls won't be very impressed by staying at Nana Hotel. Perhaps they won't want to spend the night there. LOL
It's good to check Thai gossip about if any girls have been murdered there. I did hear recent gossip that an ex Rainbow 4 girl was murdered by the customer, although I don't know which Hotel he stayed at. Years ago several girls were murdered by a Psycho staying at the Grace. Thai girls are very scared of ghosts of those murdered. Most of the web sites with this info are blocked by Thai Government (censored).
Today was quite hot 35C, yet an early evening walk from Soi Cowboy to Emporium, was no effort. It had cooled down significantly by 6.30PM. So I don't mind staying just a little bit away from the action rather than embedded right in it. I can afford a taxi to take girl back to my Hotel a short distance away, since she probably does not want to walk in high heels.

Thai culture & pay for play girls are affecting your use of the English language.
I don't recall seeing many cockroaches in Thailand. Large beetles, occasionally, especially on the streets or sidewalks in Bangkok and Singapore. More commonly and of more concern, mosquitos, everywhere from restaurants shops & bars to movie theatres and malls like MBK & Siam Paragon. Booking a room in a higher floor probably reduces your chances of encountering flying vampiric creatures as well as being disturbed in your sleep or fucking by various street noises.
In a decade of staying at Nana Hotel I have rarely seen a LB inside the premises, especially in the daytime or evening before midnight.
IMO the most impressive thing to a hooker is your wallet & how easily it opens. Not that I am looking to impress them or care about their impression of me. As long as I can motivate them to do what pleases me, my goal has been achieved. This is primarily by being generous, but not stupid, with the dough. Also important is knowing enough about their culture to interact with them decently, being of a kind disposition and respectful. Additionally they want to feel safe, such as by knowing you as a regular, and that they'll get paid.
From my interactions with dozens of them and hundreds of sessions, how expensive the hotel is that you stay at seems to mean relatively little if anything to them, whether street, bar, massage or gogo girls. Chances are it is a palace compared to where they live. An exception is the Rajah Hotel which is feared because it is haunted by the ghosts you referred to. Sometimes I tease TGs about going there. Another exception is a stunning gogo girl may not want to spend an hour stuck in Bangkok traffic that often moves at a snail's pace, travelling to and from a guy's hotel, especially if she call pull two tricks in that time by not going with that guy. For Thai P4P gals, time is money. Nana Hotel is extremely conveniently located for gals who work at NEP across the street.
Thanks, I can see my first sentence reads poorly. Probably should be something like "I am not too keen on having many insects". I have had ant problems in a town house before.
I was not aware I make a similar mistake frequently. Not sure it's really relevant to being in LOS a lot. So thanks for the tip. I write "near English" at best, certainly not good English. It's rushed.
Thai girls have been known to make comments to be about the quality of Hotels, especially the good Hotels. Classier Thai girls do appreciate a classy Hotel especially with comfort and magnificent views. For a low class hooker, is doesn't matter of course.
Even I did not stay there, I have heard some very positive comments from girls about JWMarriott hotel, as example. One classy girl loved the up top bar with views in Column Hotel. She also liked to go to State Tower. So depends if girl is a little Hi So or very Lo So. When girls are very unimpressed by el cheapo Hotel, they usually don't say anything. Keep it to themselves.
