It's More Than Just Keeping he Sex Workers Out
Been down there a few times. And it seems that the point of the barricaded area is to keep most of the sex workers out. And to keep them in the area designated for that which is Carrera 53 and access through Calle 51. So if you counted less than 40 inside the barrier it's not working that well. But walk down the streets outside the barrier and in the zona along Carrera 53 and down De Greiff and that is where they are very plentiful. Having said that I saw a number that appear to be less than legal age, and I would not want to be seen even looking at them as there are a lot of extortion rackets and also sting operations possible.
I am of the opinion that the barricades are not preventing the sex workers from entering, at least not the "skanky ones" that used to hang out in front of the Church by the phone booths, and along the passageway besides the Museum. There are still plenty of workers inside the barricaded area, but the barricades in my opinion are more so for keeping all of the "riff raff" out which includes anyone very young, the druggies, the beggars, the Hare Krishna, the indigenous, the vendors, the guys on bikes / motos, the boyfriends of all the workers milling about waiting for a cash handout.
I've witnessed the police at the barricades questioning younger males as to where and why they want to enter and then denying them entry. I've seen the police checking ID's of women entering and also randomly walking around inside the barricades checking Cedulas. I've also seen people searched and patted down, but for the most part most people are allowed thru because the "riff raff" know they will or may not be allowed in.
However, if the "riff raff" want to get in all they have to do is enter thru the ground floor of the buildings immediately adjacent to the Metro station. However, once they get inside the police roaming inside will probably stop them and escort them out. And the "riff raff" knows this, so hence the place has pretty much been cleaned up for the tourists, yet tourists entering by the glass parkway may have to navigate thru a ton of workers, and if they enter on the Museum side they might see a bunch of druggies nearby while entering.
What's really evident with the barricades is how many tourists there are now than before. From a tourism perspective the best case scenario would be no sex workers allowed anyone near the Botero area along with all the associated "riff raff" but I don't see this happening.
I think the barricades are here to stay and I don't mind them, but some do.
Comments negative and positive on most recent trip
I was back in Medellin for six days last week and thought I'd share some general observations about a few different things both chica and city related.
To start with the negative, the oddest experience I had this last trip was finding out I'd been catfished. Long story short I'd been chatting on and off with a person on Facebook: Paula Ortiz. They had consistently been sending me both normal photos and some racier photos and videos, complimenting and chatting with me. Now I always do image searches when someone sends me pictures, especially racier ones and nothing came up on the google image searches. This person never asked me for anything either. So that lowered my guard a little. Long story short when I told them I was in town this time they became evasive before finally admitting they were not who they seemed but actually a guy that had access to a friend's photos (this is why they didn't come up on google image search). The situation in my case seemed to be a gay guy who liked me vs. An extortionist or someone trying to set me up to get robbed. So I feel like I dodged a bullet given some of the stories I've heard, but I know that some nasty things have happened to others. So, if anything ever seems off, I. E. Someone you're talking to online doesn't want to talk via a video chat or are evasive about any details I'd suggest ditching that person immediately. This experience was a good reminder for me and should serve as a cautionary tale to you all to be more careful in the future.
In terms of positives, I spent a bunch more time with a chica I knew from the last trip (who'd gone to the swinger's club with me) who is a true submissive and down for anything. We went to one of the malls in Centro that has a whole row of sex shops and got some goodies including a vibrator, glass anal dildo, lube, and a whip (which wasn't even my idea). I found prices to be quite similar to the US for most sex toys. I do wonder if prices are a bit more competitive in these kiosk setups than the big chains like Sexo Sentido? Anyway, back at my apartment hijinks ensued with the glass dildo, myself, the vibrator and whip simultaneously. This girl also seems to love being face fucked deepthroat and squirts. She hasn't yet mastered anal but was trying to get me in and eager to learn. So in terms of sexual interests and openness to trying new things, she's a gem. There hasn't been a single thing I've mentioned she's said no to or has even seemed uninterested in trying.
But you get the feeling that rough sex is a pretty popular thing among women in Medellin. So far during all my trips to Medellin I've met at least four women who asked to be choked and others that want their hair pulled, spanked etc. This included an ex-webcam (number 3 I've gone out with) this trip. I'm also surprised by how many girls can deepthroat without a gag reflex, and wonder if its a skill taught at school. I'm fairly well-endowed and thick and that hasn't stopped too many. While I do enjoy being dominant during sex I try to be polite with any new woman I meet and start things off gently (which I also enjoy). So these observations come from different paisa women asking me to choke them and telling me their likes and dislikes or going for things themselves (like deepthroat or rimming) rather than me just going for it as some guys do. The last thing I'd want to do personally is to hurt, scare, or humiliate another person during sex or at any other point.
I went on some more dates this trip and want to share some more observations. I never offer to pay girls taxis anymore unless they ask me for help, in which case I do. A girl gives me a really good impression that she is serious and a good person if she pays her own taxis to see me. I'd never expect women in Medellin to buy big things unless they are well off, but I've been impressed in the past by women that have paid my metro fare or bought me a coffee. I also think taking care of a man in different ways is another way many women here show affection. I ended up cooking dinner for a couple of women this trip and one offered to clean up the kitchen unasked while the other didn't. I've also had women help me with my grooming, tidy up my apartment, or even put their earbuds in my ear so I can listen along to music with them. I'm always impressed by these sorts of signs of affection and take them as signs of more genuine interest and attraction.
I saw one of the more popular pros mentioned on here Dahiana see in order to mix things up one afternoon. She's very thin and decent looking, though with some heavy makeup. She has some interesting personal ticks, though, as she'd slip her hand up my shirt and play with my sleeve regularly. At first I thought this was a her way of physically flirting, but she later told me she has a major fidgeting habit and then proceeded to fold and unfold one of my bags and rearrange some open bags of chips on my counter. I had some good conversations with her about her life, kid, and other business selling clothes. Sex was decent (I gave her 250 k), but reinforced the fact that I prefer the nonpros or semipros. Dahiana did some DFK with me, though not super heavy and it was missing some of the sparks. She tried to deepthroat BBBJ and did an ok job of it (on her own initiative) but came up coughing a couple of times. She also had some discomfort due to my size, which turns me off a bit as I don't like hurting people. She didn't complain about anything and did her best to please me, even asking me if she'd done a good job after the fact. But sex is so much better when there is good chemistry (at least for me). You can certainly find that chemistry with pros as well, don't get me wrong.
Having just said that I do seem to enjoy more standard-issue sex with pros in casas or apartments (maybe it's the price or maybe its the setting). I saw another girl at Zandaly this trip, Estefania I think, 20 years old nice fake breasts and a tight body. I've yet to be disappointed by the quality of service at Zandaly's as this girl was happy to deepthroat and do great about bouncing on me when she was on top and going through a variety of positions. She was kind of in her own world but for 60 k for a half hour plus tip for BBBJ I was more than happy with things. I also saw Cristal as well on my first day and she gave great service as always. She even told me she came from anal and had me touch her to confirm she was sopping wet. It's been fun talking to her the times I've seen her as well as she's opened up about her own fetishes, likes, dislikes, and fantasies as well as some of her wilder experiences working. We talked about a threesome between her and my submissive amiga, but we couldn't quite get the timing to work. But I hope we can make it work next time.
In terms of fun things to do, I had a lot of fun going to the Minorista market with my submissive amiga. There are a lot of different exotic fruits to try, I had a couple. Most notably we downed a half glass of borojo juice each, which made everyone laugh as its got the reputation of being an aphrodesiac. The minorista also has a wide variety of products including hot peppers and south American peppers as well as tomatillos. I ended up buying the ingredients for a salsa verde which I made for my amiga with chips and we enjoyed together back in my apartment. I also visited a friend of mine's house one night in San Javier and had drinks with them. I enjoy this kind of things as its fun to see how people live. Walking up to the steep road to her house from the 20 de julio plaza was good exercise to say the least.
Finally, I went to el Tesoro this trip to check out an opthomolagist and see if I was a good candidate for LASIK. The office I went to was in a large tower that had seven floors exclusively devoted to opthomology. The offices and space were very modern and the doctor I saw came off as quite knowledgeable. The price is probably one-fifth of what it is in the US between 2 million and 4 million pesos. So, I'm planning on getting eye surgery when I come back in the summer. I've also split my teeth cleanings between Medellin and Mexico over the last couple of years as that comes out to $25 a cleaning and the dentists compliment me on how good shape my teeth are in vs. Nagging as is often the case in the US. I went to a dentist a Colombian friend of mine recommended in Aranjuez and was again impressed by the modern equipment and nice office. They offered me a three-part tooth-whitening course, which I may do at some point in the future for 1 million pesos.
