I know Lasik has been around a long time, but if there are some type of complications which of course can occur in the States, you might be better pressed having it done in the States, albeit it's going to be expensive. I say this because wherever your considering having this done might not have the latest equipment for measuring and performing the surgery. I'm not saying you can't get the procedure done here properly, but would be concerned, and would confirm the opthamalogy group has the latest equipment and training the same as in the States.

If you mean "normal", then you might try some of the "Intercambio" nights at various bars and cafes around the city, where Paisas and foreigners go to both socialize and practice their English / Spanish, respectively.

Best bet: "Gringo Night", every Tuesday night at Vintrash Bar in Provenza--a happy hour type mob scene. Also Friday night, rooftop intercambio at Noah Boutique Hotel in Manila. Other intercambios are less oriented to social mingling than to serious language practice.It's best if you speak at least some rudimentary Spanish, but the Paisa's are there to improve / freshen-up their English and most are quite happy to just speak with you in the language of Shakespeare and Justin Bieber. I imagine that you might run into some semi-pros at Vintrash; far less likely at the other venues.

When looking at dental, it seems Medellin dentists have all the latest equipment. Can scan and build your teeth in like an hour, while most US dentists still pour goo down their customers mouth to make molds and need two weeks to have a lab make the teeth. The technological differences are outstanding. Based on that, I would not be surprised if Medellin eye doctors have all the latest automated computerized measuring and surgical equipment. Vs your local LASIK place that uses 20 year old equipment and measures your eye prescription with little flip glass discs. Of course, buyer beware, but I would not automatically assume that because it is a south American country that they do not have the latest equipment, techniques, and procedures.

There are individual girls with good English but you only know that when you talk to them.

If that's what you're looking to find I'd recommend Jaco, CR or Panama City. In both places I've run into Colombian chicas that speak decent english. I guess they go to those places to earn a premium with their language ability.

Anyone know of pharmacies in the laureles area where I can purchase needles? I also need insulin needles, I am on TRT and think it would be easier to purchase there opposed to bringing them / getting them on multiple planes through multiple carriers. I also supplement with hcg along with my test so would need insulin pins as well. If anyone has any suggestions, I'm all ears. Willing to travel to poblado, centro etc.

1) Any recommendations on short time love motels? Or any websites I can find such?

2) What are famous "clubs" why "disco" in El Poblado / Laureles? Sort of Panda Club / Hollywood / Pier vibe in Pattaya, Thailand. Where you can find independent providers and some local chicas.

3) Using public transportation, is that a big NO-GO?

4) For fellow mongers who don't speak Spanish, is it very difficult to get in touch with chicas?

5) is "long time" somewhat rare in Colombian monger scenes?

1. Depends on where you are. Ibiza Motor Lounge in Itagui or Laureles are very nice. Plenty of love motels in Centro.

2. You're not going to find a go-go like Panda. Discos near Parque Lleras (Guato's, Park Lleras) are similar to Insomnia or Republic in Pattaya. But expect to pay gringo prices there $200 US. These are well above market rates. I will say there are some stunners in each.

3. Public transport is fine. But Uber is really cheap. I've never found the need to take the Metro.

4. It's not difficult to get in touch with chicas. But you will have a much better time with some Spanish. 98% don't speak English.

5. Medellin is not Pattaya. Toda la noche (TLN) depends on the chica. A lot of them have kids and need to get home at some point. It's not like Pattaya where you go to a club or go-go and pick up a chick and long-time or short-time are understood. Depends on the chica and if she's having a good time.

Prior to covid, I mongered almost exclusively in Thailand and the Philippines. I started looking for a country that was closer and less restrictive as to covid. First, it was GDL in Mexico and now it has been Medellin. After three trips in seven months, I am getting ready for another trip to Medellin. It is that good. I have been impressed. Young attractive women, GFE sessions, reasonable prices, and mostly bareback. There is the danger factor that one must take into consideration but as long as you are cautious, you should be fine. I have focused solely on Facebook girls and I have been happy with the results. There seems to be a large number of young women in the 18-20 year old range that are eager to make some money with older gringos. If you put that time and effort into Facebook, you will get results. But it requires more than just sending private messages to guys asking them for their favorite FB girls.

I do not like to play games so I will bring up the topic of money prior to meeting with girls who chat with me and don't mention money which is most of them. On my first trip, I did meet up with a girl and after the sex, she asked me for money and we never talked about it prior to meeting. Well, we had a difference of opinion on how much money I should pay her and it ended up with both of us being unhappy. That is why I now want a firm agreement on how much the girl expects even if she is not bringing up the topic of money. Sometimes I am concerned that I might offend a girl but so far no one has been offended. Some have only been offended by the amount of my offer. Ja ja ja.

I will just ask her about her expectations when we meet and then usually she will say how much will you give me and then we try to strike a deal. I usually ask for bareback during this time and sometimes the girl will agree and sometimes she will not. Some girls will give me a lot of shit about the bareback request and that is understandable. If you don't ask, you will probably not get it. It is a factor for me but not a deal breaker.

I recognize that there is a segment of mongers who prefer the streetwalkers and casa girls in El Centro for a much lower price. All the power to them. To each their own. I would say that visiting a girl in a casa is probably very safe and you do not have to worry about being drugged in a casa. I may try to visit a casa just to see if I may like it but so far I really love the GFE sessions in my own room.

So far I have not been drugged or robbed but I will not be complacent. I will continue to be on guard for anything suspicious. That is the bad part of Colombia. I don't have be so paranoid when I am in Asia. But it is worth the risk to me.

Appreciate all in advance.[/QUOTE]I have only been to Medellin 2 times. I always took an Uber so I didn't get lost. If you can't speak Spanish don't get into a Yellow Cab they don't speak English at all of course.

It didn't occur to me until I got there that there are several people who are not old enough to be working out and about in Parque Lleras.

Haven't been online for 3-4 weeks. Was thiinking the site was down. I tried different browsers, various resets. Eventually I activtaed VPN and am in again. I see various locals still writing here so I guess it must be the hotel where I am staying that has blocked this site. Maybe they found some damning fotos of their rooms posted abundantly over the past year or so.
