No guarantees that he won't take you to his places that offer commission (in which you will be overcharge as a tourist), but you will be safe from physical harm. Hard to find a good reliable transport driver who won't overcharge and rip you off (from commissions).

There are many good drivers and many cunning ones. So you need to try a few and keep the one you trust. The drivers like the most to take you to the fish bowl type of places, because they give out best commissions. These local joints do not give much commission, so you need to pay the drivers more instead, always tell them you want to see local lady houses, not the fish bowl massages.

Each driver has different knowledge of different places, it's impossible to know all these places, simply too many. So I tend to use many different drivers to cover more grounds. If you try more drivers, eventually you will run into some honest driver with good knowledge.

All the motorbike guys there knew exactly where we wanted to go. Also, I didn't want the guy at my hotel to know everything I was doing, and maybe let people at my hotel know.

Some want to be treated like a lady and wished to be courted and chased and others have husbands or long-term boyfriends and they work only for lady drinks, tips and for the company of the other girls.

Nothing great, just good location plus cheap rates for the area. Street 118 at corner of street 13 if I remember correctly. It has an adequate restaurant on the entire ground floor.

I've stayed at other places too. One diagonal from National Museum is good, though not as close to St 130. That one better to get to the restaurants on the river. Called Orchid or something like this. I never liked staying over by Walkabout / Pontoon because eating options were not good over there, but that may have changed in recent years since I was there last.

Seriously, these bars employ a team of hookers for customers to come and chat with and barfine. That's what these bars are for. So why are there girls in there trying to find husbands and boyfriends? They should be working at some bars that are set up for guys who are looking for girlfriends and wives, not in a bar where guys are looking for hookers. (Hmm, I want to find me a good wife, I know, I'll go down to the bar with all the prostitutes and find a girl who's not working as a prostitute.) It's dumb and annoying. It's like in Nana Plaza in Bangkok when a bar starts mixing in ladyboys together with their girls. Customers don't want that. If a guy wants a lady boy he will go to a ladyboy bar. It's a few doors down, can't miss it, the bar with all the ladyboys in front of it.

I think it's more about what they can get away with putting one over on foreigners. I mean, I think the bars obviously are not on some mission to find husbands for girls, no, it's a business, and they're hiring cute girls who won't go out as a kind of bait and switch to get customers into the bar who will presume those are girls who can go out. It's a scam.

Cardamom Hotel and Apartment is GF. It is located along Oknha Ket road. You can find girls at the Walk About Hotel which is a few metres away on the same road. You can also find girls at Pontoon which is on Jayavarman VII Street (parallel to Oknha Ket street) a little more than 100 metres away.

They are not educated and not as sophisticated, at least as the girls in Bangkok or Pataya who are always up for ST action so as to make money.

There are many reasons why a lady might not go with you, from her period starting, she has the runs, she has to be home (early shift girl), she is not yet "broken in" and is too young to take a large barang pounding her all night etc. Even once I saw a lady reject a young man because he did not wash and had a strong case of BO.

I once made the drunken mistake of pushing it by insisting that the lady who had slurped a couple of my lady drinks to go with me. Reluctantly she did. And I had what appeared to me in my drunken state a small pool of red on my sheets as a result. Yeck!
