I have just been to Chiang Mai for the first time, unfortunately it was holiday time and I couldn't get the hotels I wanted, finished up at Empress, very nice and GF but over 2000pn.
Opposite Empress on ChiangKlan Rd is a karoake, looks OK, anyone any info? I never had time to visit.
There are beer bars on Loi Kroh road at CEC, watch out one is a ladyboy bar, some othe bars with girls at the top of the road.
Porn Ping hotel is a good place to go, Hot Shots live music with many TGs and Bubble disco next door, odd ladyboy FL here as well.
Foxy Lady gogo near night bazaar, 500 bf I was not impressed here but a TG told me they have young girls, FWIW I never saw any.
Spotlight GoGo bar is good, 400bf plenty of girls before 10pm.
Spicey bar is OK after about 1-30am, believe open until 5, a few backpacker farangs but I pulled a nice 22 yo TG, with strict instructions from the family to 'Take Care Lady, she not lady work bar'
I found CM to be a nice change from the hulabaloo of Pattaya and Bangkok, there are enough girls although nowhere near Pattaya numbers. Myself I like the sea and I missed thatat CM.
In the daytime go to the Temple up the mountain and also the nearby Zoo, the Pandas are awesome.

hotels...
Gus,
Many hotels are gf in Chiang Mai-taphae place off taphae-rd soi 3-top north, smile gh, near taphae gate, fang gh off kampangdin, to name just a few budget options in walking distance to nightlife options.
It is also ok just to ask before checking in of course.

Chiang Mai is BIG!
Prepared myself for my first visit to CM by RTTFF - and what with the rather detailed instructions on how to walk here and there, and what signs/billboard to look for etc, I had the mistaken impression that CM is just a small village up North with limited, rather native action. Well, surprise, surprise - CM is NOT small - it is actually the second largest city in Thailand after Bangkok. Not really expecting much action in CM, my buddies and I had actually planned our trip as more of a golfing thing than anything else - which was a mistake - as there was PLENTY of action. Mistake as some of us had even brought along the missuses and we randy guys could do nothing but look... and suffer. The last night we were there though, some of us just couldn't stand it any longer and headed off to Sayuri massage - which we figured would be the fastest/safest option for a bunch of horny guys who really could not spare the time/effort to cavort around the bars and then having to take the honeys back to the hotel or wherever.
Actually the Sauyri is a whole entertainment complex with various options - Some of us opted for the 2,000 bath slip and slide massage/FS after choosing from the fish bowl, some only for the traditional massage with the happy ending and one who decided he was just too damn drunk to do anything, just hung around the live band club drinking and ogling the girls (hmmmm... wot's wrong with him?!). All in all, we were all very satisfied with that night and each of us had our own choice of 'relief' at Sauyri.

big
Chiang Mai is big and has plenty of options , but the second biggest after Bankok is still Udon.
-
There are plenty of larger Thai cities than Chiang Mai (Samut Prakan, Nonthaburi, Udon Thani, Korat, Hat Yai, Chon Buri), yet none are as well-equipped for sex-tourists or other Farang visitors.
In terms of working-girls only, the largest cities are BKK, Pattaya, Phuket, then Chiang Mai.

Sheraton CM
I'm getting a good deal at Sheraton CM on the net (through www.bangkok.com). Wondering if this hotel is GF, anyone out there who stayed here and knows?
-
Interested in the Top North Guest House (not the Top North Hotel). May consider staying there next time I'm in CM.(maybe going back to CM later next year). Price looks cheaper than the Top North Hotel so need to know if the Guest House is worth staying. Is the place a dump or its clean and decent?
Any comments from people who have seen the rooms or stayed there recently.
Thanks

Hello Phantomtiger 2,
I have stayed 2 times in Top North Guesthouse, the last time was in June this year. The rooms are simple and clean but before you take the room, have a look first. No problems with bringing ladies to the room.

Top North Guest House
Interested in the Top North Guest House (not the Top North Hotel).
Top North Guest House is fine.
I stayed there once in the past and it's very friendly (in all ways), comfortable, and convienient.
I was just in Chiang Mai earlier this week along with some family. We stayed at the TN Hotel and then walked over to the Guest House for lunch. The TN GH has a more younger crowed and it was very noticeable by the pool area.
The GH has nice rooms, air conditioning, TV, etc. and some of them have a terrace with a nice view. The nicer rooms are about 400 to 600 Baht per night. Avoid the rooms with a fan or the budget rooms in the older facility, they're just not worth the savings.
For travel bookings, trekking, day trips, etc. book at the TN Hotel, especially if your with your family or entertaining others. They're by far the best place, more professional, and many guide books recommend them for leisure bookings and tours, even though they're not up there as the nicest hotel.
As for my stay at the hotel, it was fine, no problems in any ways, but I like the more informal atmosphere of the guest house.
I recommend the guest house as that's where I plan to stay in the future.
I'm getting a good deal at Sheraton CM on the net. Wondering if this hotel is GF, anyone out there who stayed here and knows?
Yeah, if you've booked a double it is GF.
Nice hotel, shame about the location.

thanks hamilton and nuphit for your reply.
will keep this place as a definite option next time in cm. didnt know they have an old and new wing at the tn guesthouse.
internet prices looks good but would you recommend booking ahead (and not seeing what condition of rooms they give you) or walk up and hope they have available rooms for inspection at internet prices?-not sure if able to get the cheaper internet prices this way.
reason for asking is because they could take advantage of you when prepaid by internet and with confirmation (money usually non refundable) so once they already have your money, they tend to give you the shitty rooms nobody else wants- happened to me once in los, wont let me change rooms as hotel fully booked (at least thats what they told me). had a chance to peek into rooms across from mine as the maids were cleaning them and they definitely were much better than my room.

it wasn't the booze you know, it was just simple stupidity. i slipped and the pain was worse than ladyboy [CodeWord123]. wish it was booze, it'd probably hurt less, this little pipe isn't providing as good an anaesthetic.
head still hurts so only one for now: pagoda inn, cheap and decent- 053-233-290.
as for your crime, well, you know the punishment- death in the "chair" at pb, with some car-park lbs present.
