OK, mystery solved. Now I know why there are so many examples of "The Nang" in here. The forum software is changing it when people type it properly. Up above I wrote "the" and then "Nang" with a space between. It was changed to "the Nang", even replacing my capitalization. ; [/QUOTE]Post it, then edit and you can get what you want.

The worst one is how it changes ID to I'd. And also putting a space after a full stop/period, always, which means you can never write a number with a decimal point in it.

The only way to get around is to edit the post you posted and correct the stupid machine. Period. It's desigend by people with too narrow a mind.

Slow Rider[/QUOTE]I, also American, have been to Dalat quite a few times with my much younger VNese girlfriend over many years (7+) and we have stayed at the exquisite Dalat Palace, the budget Dreams and the perfectly located, newer, Ngoc Lan, among a few others, and we have never had the slightest difficulty checking in anywhere.

In fact we have stayed together in just about every tourist destination in Vietnam and we have never had any problem (s) with accessing accommodations from Phu Quoc to Ha Long Bay.

The paranoia of years past concerning these laws for hotel guests, at least right now, doesn't seem to be required anymore for whatever reason, and I can think of a few, as can you.

Dalat is a traditional "honeymoon" destination, you will love being there. Try taking the local buses to see some of the tourist attractions and to get another "lay of the land"! Walk around the lake and visit the flower gardens. Go to the golf course club house and have lunch.

I have enjoyed many wonderful meals at the QUY / WILD SUNFLOWER restaurant located at 49 Truong Cong Dinh Street. Easy to find too.

But I have travelled quite a bit in vietnam (I am based in HCM) and never had any problems with hotels outside of HCM. And I usually stay in mid to upscale ones with my viet gf. And not once we even got a raised eyebrow or anything.

That bullshit law seems mostly applicable in high end Saigon hotels.

If you have a room in the annex part of the building, which includes the Irish pub and the Japanese restaurant, you can access your room without going through the main Reception lobby. I don't know if it would otherwise be girl friendly. Pick-up places? I'm not sure about. But maybe the Disco at the Yasaka Hotel, which is on the sea front about 100 metres from the Sunrise. If you walk down the road, between the Yasaka and the Sunrise (Yersin) leading away from the sea-front, you will come to a Sauna Massage named 007. No FS. But you will get at least a happy ending.
