One of my Chica friends who works out of Bar Tropical posted this to her facebook account. Not much detail but 1 dead and 2 injured.

Red Cross rescuers gave first aid to a 23-year-old woman and a 44-year-old man inside the nightclub called "Tropical Bar". The injured were taken to medical services for their care.
Another 28-year-old man ended up dead in a nearby public parking lot.
Have not been down to Tijuana in half a year but was planning to go on black Friday but seeing this kind of news as well as others news I have seen makes me a little wary of going.

It turns out that the rumor mill matched closely to your published report. One of the cab drivers mentioned that two people were shot inside the bar, but I didn't write about that because the cabbie seemed unreliable to me.

Info from a mesero at HK. A BG was working. Her boy friend came into Tropical and started to abuse her. The manager tried to intervene. The guy shot the manager. The boy friend proceed to take her from the club forcibly. The police arrived and shot the girl by accident, wounding her and shot and killed boy friend. The manager is in critical condition. This info was gathered on Sunday, November 20th. I had the mesero repeat the story twice. More verification is needed.

Wednesday night Tropical's scrawny security guys gave me a quick pat down. Tropical employs only a few, and they are just not as serious and professional as the HK's guys.

I must say that the selection and quality was the worst I have seen in years maybe memory. Know that in the past 15 years I have found a few diamonds in the rough in BT but just hope the quality goes up.

For newbies who want to have a true taste of Mexico, they should visit bars like Tropical, Playboy, Gloria, Valentina ect. Where the environment is dark and dingy, air stale of years-old vomit and [url=http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord140][CodeWord140][/url], furniture old, squeaky and grimy, music loud and scratchy, chicas look old and odd, wearing funny clothes, sitting listlessly showing no alertness or interest in anyone or anything around them, shifty meseros try to steal your change every time.
HK is nice, clean, relaxed, bright, cheerful, free flowing, excellent light and sound equipment, good mix of Nortenos and Latin music, chicas are young, hot, flirty, sexy, meseros always honest and courteous. Whatever and however HK does with its business, tt's clearly preferred 20 to 1 by gringos and Mexicanos over other bars in La Zona. It's packed on weekends with long waiting line to get in.
Meanwhile the other bars like Chicago and DEE& G are dying or already dead, but they never get the ideas and copy some of HK's success ingredients. Stupid or what? Damn shame.

I prefer Tropical over the other more popular sausage fest bars that are full of over rated, over priced girls with over size fake body parts.
The girls in Tropical generally are very sweat, have a nice down to earth attitude and have the pretty girl next door look. Not the fake looking mechanical girls like you find a t Hong Kong and Adelitas. All bars have the ugly and pretty girls but I find my experiences with the girls in Tropical to be more genuine and more memorable.

HK girls can get real greedy and over price themselves. While I spend most of my flirting time in HK, I go else where for sex because of the pricing.
