Last summer I was in Dominican Rupublic and stayed at BlackBeards Adult Resort. A guest there told me that I will find in Medellin a place named "Modeling Hotel Mansion El poblado". Does anyone know this place and can tell me more about it? In Internet I found only "Hotel M (la mansion)" but I'm not sure if he meant this and I did not found what I receive there. Thank you for every help, I will stay some days in Medellin in July.

Yes, they can make 200-300 mil if they have sex with you but perhaps they can make 1500 mil if the robbery is successful. If you are in need of money and you can make a lot of money if you just put a little of this drug into the gringo's drink, and you don't even have to have sex with the old overweight gringo, it is a tempting offer. If you're baffled that people are willing to kill somebody for a couple of grand then you are in trouble. A couple of grand in some countries is a small fortune, now think about the minimum wage in Colombia and then think about what the average barrio chica earns compared to that. Think about the economic climate and how desperate people are now think about the fact that when these robberies and scoplomina incidents happen they think they won't get caught and it's easy money.

I have gringo friends who live in Medellin full time with Colombian wives and visit every couple of years and this is the first year I'm hearing my gringo friends tell me to be careful. Three gringo members of the regular Monday night football game have been robbed in the last couple of months. Not sure what it's like on the ground but I'm going in extra cautious this year, hopefully it's just hype but doesn't hurt to keep your guard up, especially during the tought times Colombia is going through right now.

A little bit about me, I'm in my mid 30's and Spanish is my mother tongue.

After mongering in Mexico city, Guadalajara, Amsterdam and Barcelona I heard about Medellin thanks to this forum. So thank you guys.

I arrived to Medellin more than a year ago. The plan was to stay for a few months but I loved it and I didn't want to leave. During the first 2 months all the girls I met were from SA. I did create a facebook and Colombian cupid without luck. I also went one night to Parque Lleras but I didn't dare to approach any of the girls. I had never done it and I was by myself.

It's located in the El Poblado sector of Medellin.

I'm flying into Medellin next week, and I was wondering how dangerous centro is at night? How would it compare to Santa Fe in Bogota? I personally didn't find Santa Fe that bad. I was thinking about hitting up some of the strip clubs there, and wanted some further insight if I can walk safely between each strip club. (planning on bringing a burner phone / wallet).
