I know the other half owner (now full owner) of the Loco Bar and never got a freebie from him. But I did pull a nice girl out for a few hours in my room and would certainly return. No rip-offs, nice ambiance and best of all, a nice stable of girls. YMMV.
I dunno who owns what now or in the past but as a visitor to PP I've always got reliable and unbiased info here from Aussie Guy and others (e.g. Wendella). They have certainly helped me to discover new bars and negotiate the changing scene in Phnom Penh. As I have said here before bars with on-site western owners which seem to cover a few in Street 130 tend to be better run and more lively than a lot of the those run by a local manager.

I'm having a pretty rough time in Phnom Penh's hostess bars. I was really looking forward to spending a month here after breaking up with my Vietnamese girlfriend. I had some awesome times here in the past, but this time the girls keep saying they are on their period when I ask them out. Or they ask for an outrageous amount of money. And if they do come back, they won't allow sex.
I had one good experience at Shanghai. There's no barfine there, but my girl told me to meet her outside at 3. It was good, but she got way too attached, and I don't want a girlfriend.
I met a Viet beauty at one bar. The Cambodians can't hold a candle to them. Of course she would not go with me. Phnom Penh is a frustrating place.
Thinking back to what worked in the past, for each of my good experiences, there had to be some chemistry, either real, or she had to be making an effort. All the girls this time have been cold fishes. They'll let me buy drinks for them, but they aren't interested in anything else.
Either the girls have gotten worse here, or I have lost my mojo.
Heading to Snookyville in a few days. Maybe I will have better luck there.

I am coming to PP for a short stay in February. I have booked a nice room (I Hope?.) at The Lux Riverside on street 136. I have chosen this hotel because of it's location. I am hoping there are no judgmental tourist type's I may have to deal with. (Naughty Boy Street far too seedy for their stay. Hopefully.) Has anyone here, ever had a bad experience with the Walk Of Shame at this hotel? I get a little paranoid when it comes to the WOS. As I had a very bad experience with this, the last time I was in PP. I just want to enjoy myself when I am there. Fingers crossed I have a better time than FreeWillyBruh.

My knowledge of Phnom Penh is fairly limited having been there only twice for short periods and that was over 5 years ago. In planning this upcoming trip I realized that from a mongering perspective I was limiting myself basically to an area bounded by what Phnom in the north and Independence Monument in the south and Riverside to Monivong Bvd in the west.
So, please tell me I'm wrong, I know there has to be more out there, I just don't know what and where and I don't mean mainstream tourism, I've got that part covered. For instance in Patts the other side of the rail tracks is an interesting and adventurous diversion but rarely considered.

I'm having no trouble getting almost every hostess to say yes to going out.
A few tips.
Make sure you are clean and presentable. The girls will respond much better to guys who don't have bad breath and sweaty armpits. If possible be generous with ladydrinks. The girls then think you are a nice guy and are more likely to say yes.
Visit a girl two nights in a row. This makes her feel special and again more likely to say yes when you pop the question on the second visit.
I tend to buy one drink then ask the girl if she "sometimes goes out".
If she says no I can cut my losses. If she says yes then I know I've got a fair chance of her saying yes later.
Stick to the better bars. Look back through previous posts to get an idea of which bars have decent girls and which are perhaps not so good.
Don't be a total cheapskate when negotiating. If you stay chilled it will result in a much better atmosphere later in the bedroom.
Going rates in hostess bars still seem to be 30-40 short time and 35-60 all night. Yes you can always get cheaper rates from smaller sleazier bars or from freelancers.
If a girl quotes you 100 she is politely saying that she doesn't want to go with you. Accept it and move on. Unless you're at Darling Darling at Naga where this seems to be the standard extortionate rate.

Many people don't understand or accept the difference to Thailand.
In Phnom Penh I most times pay 40 dollar LT + 10 dollar BF.
I never take girl from Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville. It is very easy to find nice girl in Sihanoukville. I pay most times 30 dollar LT + BF 10 dollar.
My problem was that I was being too picky. After spending time in Pattaya and Angeles, I wanted to suss out the prettiest 21 year old in each bar and take her. But those girls are just distractions. They'll happily let you buy them drinks all night, but have no intention of going. There were plenty of older girls I had some chemistry with that probably would have went with me. And there was the Shanghai girl who wanted to be my girlfriend. This is not point and click like Pattaya. You have to have a real rapport to have a shot taking them out of the bar. It's sort of more like the real world, where you take what you can get.
So I won't be picky in Snookyville.

RTFF for about one year back but didn't make cheat sheet. Also going HK, Siem Reap, Chiangmai Mai, ending in Pattaya for a week and all the info has become a blur except price, warnings, hotels friendly, and general target rich areas. Staying PP along river in 136 street area. Never read distinction between good hostess bar and not for getting a fyt as opposed to more ripened ladies. Unless talking about expensive casino establishments. Not a disco type anymore as it tends to be for younger crowd. Is it just do the walk and check the merchandise as best possible from the 136 street area or are there true and tested bars along this street? Also, is pontoon walk about area also good for hostess bars or just discos along this 51st street (numbering is confusing in google maps as I'm guessing this is Pasture street as no number is listed for this street). I know I've got zero intell but plan on posting daily during my vacation. Play safe. FH69.

Besides Street 130, I can recommend 104 but also 110 and 118 have some talent inside. The only venue with pretty girls in Street 51 is Shanghai but most girls there are for LD's only. Opposite Shanghai in Black Cat but there YMMV. Good luck, for me another 8 weeks before back in PP.
