The impacts financially are one thing, and can be horrendos, but the emotional and psychological damage to the children can be far worse.

I'm going to bet, that some here, might agree that the best thing they got out of being married where children, at least that's my personal experience being married and divorced with two children.

Fuck Davivienda! I spent almost an hour at the bank asking them to return my 1. 000.000 mil they stole form my bank but not spit money out. I checked "Decline banks exchange rate" and said the transaction was successful but did not spit any money at me. I have capital one so called them and the transaction went through on there end and the rep said the ATM should have gave you money. After using google translate with some manager at the Davivienda bank almost an hour did they tell me they will credit the account but my take 7-10 bussiness days. Still recieved no answer why ATM did that. I'm not the only one, other people have been scammed a couple years ago by same bank. Careful of Davivienda bank.

You are digging a hole that becomes deeper and deeper as you get older. On the other hand, if you have already passed the time threshold or are wealthy enough, then waiting does not have the same issue as in a shorter marriages, let's say less than 10 years.

I went thru this when divorcing with two teenagers at the time, and there are "scars" in the sense of very bad memories my children haven't been able to completely get beyond due to errors by both me and my ex-spouse. And marriage length his huge, but everybody goes a different route as to handle if and when to divorce. And I remember working and meeting guys going thru a divorce who had children, and I remember a sports event with my daughter at around 12 years old at a Park where a couple were going thru a divorce and fighting in front of their kids and other parents. Some really ugly stuff goes on and my bet is there are several others who can attest to this.

Fast forward to one year after I divorced about twenty years ago and I show up at the Del Rey in San Jose Costa Rica on my maiden mongering foray.

Oh my god, what a fucking eye opener that was. Not only the women who worked there at the time, but how many guys where showing up there who were in the throes of divorce. And after sampling the Colombians there for a year I finally started coming here!

It gets corrected in the end but you may have to inform your bank. When I got home, the money was still withdrawn from my bank account. I emailed my bank and they said they would look into it and temporarily gave me back the money. After a week or so, I got another email saying that the money credit was permanent and all is well.

Instead people would rather be greedy and make the lawyers rich. Then some people just do not know any better. I was talking to a coworker the other day that paid a lawyer $115,000 when she got a divorce. Her ex took her to court on contempt charges and she paid even $7,000 more for the lawyer to show up to court with her. I tried to explain to her how she was out of her mind and could have done it her damn self but she insisted she needed to be ripped off. My divorce only cost me the $55 it was to file the initial petition.

Emotional and psychological damage only happens when people have jackazzes for parents. When my mom and dad got divorced my dad still came to see me and my brother everyday when he finished work. The only difference for us was that he did not sleep there. My dad has been remarried for almost 40 years but he still goes to some events on my mom's side of the family even when she does not go and my mom still goes to events on my dad's side of the family.

A couple days ago I turned 51 and me, my mom, dad, and brother went to lunch and my mom paid for it all. My mom and have have always known that what matters is their children. No matter how much my dad was behind on child support she never stopped him from seeing his kids. Even after my brother turned 18 my dad still owed money for child support and the state was trying to go after him. My mom told them to forget about that, the kids are grown already.

Arrived in MDE evening before last from Cusco. The altitude in Cusco messed with me badly. Though I did make it to Machu Picchu, I was ready to get someplace warmer and much lower.
