First it is near impossible to bring a chica to the USA for a visit unless she has about 200, 000 pesos in the bank, a job, and owns a house. Then Immigration may consider a visa. I have been coming here on vacation for 5 years, twice a year, last Fall I moved here permanently. Bought a house and now live with my novia. Honestly, each Dominica is different and want different things. You just got to figure they game out and look at the big picture of what you want and what they are mentally/socially/physically able to give. Don't look for a lady in a ***** house and don't think all Dominicans are Ho's. Vast majority are not. Socially and religiously conservative and faithful on average than Americans.

This is an excellent point. I could see not bringing her to the States as an upside simply because 1. She already has a family base/support system in place, and 2. Your money goes a lot further down there, and she will know where and how to buy without getting you hit with the "gringo tax."
Granted, not every is drawing a pension, so the prospect of moving there for most at this point (including myself) is slim to none. However, I can see not wanting to be away from your novia for long periods of time, which is why most will opt to "bring her over." If a visitor's visa won't do then you might have to wife her (Fiancee Visa).
However, keep things in perspective. Plucking a girl from over there and bringing her to the States may do more damage than good. For one, she doesn't know anyone, and more than likely doesn't speak much English. Me bringing a girl here to Texas would be like dropping her off in the middle of the Amazon. And I live in a huge city! She wouldn't be out driving around on the roads because she doesn't know anything or where anything is, and also does not know the traffic laws. Leaving her at home everyday would get old very fast and eventually she'll begin to want to wander or talk with your unemployed (by choice) neighbor during the day...and seriously, are you going to go through all that trouble of bringing her over here just to have her working at McDonald's or WalMart???
So if you can afford to, it may be a good idea to set your novia up with a place on her home turf and visit as often as you can until you can eventually move there for good (which seems to be what the one guy did from Mr. Gogo's story a few post back). And get the mom, grandmother, or aunt involved. Someone that will keep her ass in check and remind her that if she fucks this up (by having other dudes in your home when you are not there) she will go from sugar to shit so fast it'll make her head spin.
Later on down the line you can bring her to the States for a visit...if only to let her see first hand how good she's got it over in her country and how fucked up things can be here. But she'll love the food and shopping, no doubt. We got sum good eat'in here in Texas!
P.S. Some of you know how huge the homes can get to be in the South. So if you can afford a $200,000 here in the South then I can only imagine what that amount fetches you in the DR. But if you are dropping that kind of money on a home in the DR then it is probably a good idea that you are living there permanently. A chica in a $200,000 in the DR would lose her damn mind and by the time you get there the whole family would be living there as if it was the freakin Taj Mahal, lol!

Its hard, I know FIRST SECOND & THIRD Hand but not that damn hard. The backlog is the killer and a screwed application is the death note. It has to be extremely specific and error free and most are chalked full of errors. You don't have to own a house nor have much money as verifiable ongoing employment suffices. If what you say is the case, you got a lotta broke as Dominicans in Miami and NY that caught a raft or something. Its a lie, the letter counts when congruent to the application. They check the Invitees stability to factor; Is this a reliable address to find the applicant if need to deport. They need to know you will be returning home is the key. The invitation letter must match the application. Invitees with apartments get red flagged as is not reliable addresses. Homeland Security is swamped as well as the state department they wont evaluate trash applications and they have finite to issue in a sea of millions.
Personally, i would never bring a ***** back. However,when kids are involved you got to do what is in their long term best interest unless you want them educated in DR but some are selfish and shortsighted like that. I would be living like you. Average Dominican lives of something like between 4,485 and 7,360 pesos thats like 150-200. I would yield that weekly off my shittiest investment not to mention if Social Security exist in 25 years.
