This is a simplistic, over-generalization. Based on this post, I suggest that if you've actually had experience with non-P4P at all, it has most likely been with TGs who are still quite low down on the ladder and therefore still need money and are willing to compromise their aethetic/sexual tastes in order to get it and perhaps the bragging rights that go with it.
But, as I've often said, there's no advantage at all in Thai society for a middle class or upper class TG to be involved with a Farang, unless he provides some significant social advantage. So, if she does it, it has little if anything to do with money, and mostly to do with other forms of attraction including "normal" attraction.
BTW, Nic, Thai women, without ulterior motives (i.e. the need for money) do like older men, but with some provisos. This is my first time in BKK so I finally decided to check out what this Soi Cowboy is all about. I didn't realize Dream Hotel was so close and finally figured out why there were so many WGs on Suk. Anyway, I go by myself and walk from one end to the other and it's a bit overwhelming at first. I wish I had a wingman b/c it just felt strange walking down cowboy by myself. Arrived Spasso, flying solo, around 12:30 AM. I am an intuitive person and have learned to rely upon my first instinct. First impressions of Spasso is that it was lame. Somehow forced and the cliental were non-thai, 40/60 Western/Middle Eastern, just not my scene. But as it was late I dealt with it as a limited option. Scanned the crowd and did a walk about. No one jumped out. Sat at the bar. Decent looking gal made eye contact and then a guy from the Middle East tried to hit on her. She rebuffed and he got a little pissed.I played coy and she walked away from the guy.
She then invited me over to sit and she was more attractive in person. It was not feeling right (frankly felt more fulfillment in pursuing kicking the ME guy’s ass) and other ladies were eyeing me in the club. And frankly I thought others in the club were more to my liking.I over-road my gut and went with this gal. She offered to drive me to my hotel.I thought to myself, okay you have gone against your gut, but she’s turning out to be cool. Has a car, local, etc.
We got to my room and she changed into a robe. No shower, which was a bad sign to me.I thought, wtf, why are you not showering. Either you are not clean or you are not going to perform, or you are hiding something. Doubts starting arising. She came out of the bathroom with the robe on and she had washed off some of her make-up. A couple of scars on her face. Hmmm. Don’t like the heavy make-up type, turn off #2, she had fake tits. Big non starter for me, particularly in asia. Then she gave a half assed massage and started negotiating. Like for 300 US. I said no fucking way. She got pouty. Second sense kicked in and I wondered if I had a legit gal here, so I picked her up and lay her down and checked out her goods. Looked legit, but I was getting sick of the price offers, and frankly the poor service and I decided she should go home. With some fussing, I gave her a more than fair amount and told her to leave. Lesson learned again. Listen to the first instinct and first impression. Never force it. Period.)

IMHO if you do this, you can go a long way to taking out the uncertainty or any grey areas that may arise in a P4P situation.

I realized when posting the report I made a lot of mistakes and was a doophus in a few of the things I did, that was one of the main reasons I posted it. So someone else would not make the same mistakes and could learn from my experience.
Yes, Osakagin, you are correct. I am learning to be more up front in negotiations etc. Lay out the expectations, pay, etc.
Will do a few things differently next time for sure.

Well, the rich ones obviously aren't looking for a sponsor. They're looking for a "Daddy" (in the Thai sense of the word)...and I don't mean Sugar Daddy.
I have a former student (about 22 now) who has called me "Daddy" for 2 years, and never fails to make physical contact, when she sees me at school.
