Also if you take care of yourself girls (working or not) will take you out in public and act accordingly.

Hello all.
This is my first time to Medellin. I have traveled throughout Asia and the Caribbean. I had the opportunity to do some business consulting in Medellin, so I took it. Nothing like free travel and accommodations to fuel my mongering.
The immigration process was a breeze. When my flight landed there was no other flights in the waiting line. I was through immigration in less than 10 minutes. Passport and MIG check and I was on my way. I cruised the exchange booths and headed to the 2nd floor where it had previously been reported I may find a better rate. Just about everywhere was exchanging at 3900 COP to 1 USD. Exchanged $100 and headed to the Taxis. Took board member recommendations and took the 90.000 COP white taxi. Driver was cool, while he was looking over my destination address I told him it was Energy living, he just handed the address back to me and we were on our way.
The Energy staff seem very easy going and patient. I arrived right before check-in and they stated the room was being cleaned. No problem though, I went down the street to gather provisions. When I got back, the room way ready. The suite has it's flaws, but I also know I'm not staying in some 5 start hotel. And after growing up impoverished I am still amazed by the blessings and good fortune I have encountered. It's a nice apartment. I've seen a few mongers around the building but haven't engaged in conversations yet. I'm not sure if Energy has that kind of vibe like I've read La Mansion has. The openness of mongering I guess?
I was pretty beat, and my job is highly social, and I just didn't feel like talking to anyone or following up on leads. So I cruised Mileroticos and Photoprepagos for a massage. Having an extensive history of mongering in Asia, I am fond of Nuru and Oily massages, did some googling and found Mandalay, it is next to the Hotel De Palmas Del Estadito and appears to be by appointment only. Whatsapp'd them and was on my way. I arrived and was offered a line up, only then to be told they do not have Nuru gel at this time. Which, whatever, I didn't give a shit. I did not explore Facebook options; I am just too lazy for that, and, I don't really care to support Zuckerberg. Lined up tentative meetings with SA girls knowing at least one will flake, and I can cancel the others when one is conformed. I took it easy on my arrival evening, got a bite in the restaurant downstairs at energy. It was good, nothing mind blowing; the staff were kind and patient with my broken Spanish. Like not even in Bogota other cities in Colombia has the monthly rental got hit as bad as it did in Medellin. It is as if the owner of short term rental make it specifically for gringos only in Medellin and don't even care to cater to local colombians. The rest of cost, food, girls etc hasn't jumped as much relative to inflation but damn the apartments cost, forget about it.

I have to surmise this was the reason he got jumped.
There's quite a market for used, meaning stolen phones in Centro, and if a thief sells the phone to a vendor, instead of getting maybe 30 K to 50 K for a cheap smart phone, they will get more, hence my reasoning as to why the thieves were so brazen.
I wonder if this guy was a punter, and if so, I don't have much sympathy for him as he should of known better to not be walking around Centro with a high end phone along with being an obvious foreigner with a big bullseye on his back.
It's good the police caught the thieves.
