the place is called cabarete. it is only a dollar ride from sosua by public taxi, but you can find girls in cabarete, and massage too, though you will probably have more choice in sosua. staying in cabarete is a good idea if you want to stay in a vacation hotel or apartment and socialize with other non mongering tourists, because you can zip over to sosua any time you like for massage and nookie.

cabarete is a small beach town about 15 minutes east of sosua. there is a main road that runs through the town, with bars, restaurants, hotels, wind surfing and kite boarding schools/rental places that sit facing a fairly wide beach.

i have not been in cabarete in about three years. the last time i was there, lots of new construction of condominium complexes was ongoing.
