I did so after being robbed, she saw my pin-code, and when I was in the shower she was superfast down to the ATM and empty daily maximum. But I must add, I was a in the bathroom for a long time taking care of a small wound. So special circumstances. I was also on strong antibiotics and took tramadol for the pain, which made me blurry and forgot / skipped my own secutrity precautions which I'm normally very strict about.

After that I enhanced my security routines even more. I put a thick chain on my closet and hid the chain with having cloth hangning on the door of it. Crazy!

Twice I have been robbed during 12 longer visits South America 2003-2019.

And in Medellin or Buenos Aires, where I lived one year (x2) , I must have taken taxis like 3 x 365 x2 = around 2000 times.

But these two events still scares me! I will always be a little afraid and hence loose some of the pleasure!

But also; different cards. Two-factor verification.

Anything that complicates for the robber and anything that minimize losses.

Then put US3. 000 on a "mental account" for robbery-losses. I have put such robbery-reserve money on my parents accounts, of which codes, numbers I know nothing!

You can also have a weekly budget and get money send to you and pick them up at WU, being robbed on the last day you maybe jusy have 100 dollars.

But all in all; the dangerous things for tourists are still; traffic accidents!

Money can only be ach withdrawn to a checking account. There is no way a criminal will know the account exists unless you have the app on your phone which you should never leave after ACH. Delete download delete download. The most they can steal is what you ACH. Only ACH what you need and then withdraw in pesos every couple days from a checking account that charges no international fees.

What are the odds a 9 in Medellin gives it away for free. It seems like the culture there says don't be dumb girl and give it away for free at 18. Prostitution is so accepted there and part of the culture. Also, it's not like the Colombian guys treat them well, so why not F a white guy who will treat you like a queen for a months salary at KFC. Hell I've been to Taco Bell in America where the cashier was 18 and was a solid 9 with a brick house body. I thought to myself I would pay her 200 for a hour. She would have to work over 2 days there to make that.

I haven't heard that yet. I will listen out for it. I think I've seen English language signage in some of the stations. It's good advice. The only public transportation I know that doesn't have a pickpocket problem is in Japan. They have a problem with perverts who feel up girls or record upskirt videos. In Tokyo I actually saw a guy with some kind of camera with a gooseneck extension slip it under the school uniform skirt of a girl on the metro. I wasn't the only one who saw it and no one did anything.

Where would that be? There is no such filters in airbnb.[/QUOTE]Hotel Du Parc is in between Parque Lleras and Parque Poblado. Usually you can get it for $100/ nt (breakfast included) and it is pretty nice. They check ID's at the front desk for guests but do not charge for them.

I assume its what you consider a very good looking girl. If the girl is not having regular sex by 18 in Colombia, then she is in the minority. A huge proportoin of them already have (broken) families by that age. And that is often the reason they work in sex. And am not sure what white skin has to do with tourists.

Whenever I see a normal chick that I like I just talk to them normally and ask to get to know them or whatever. It does not pop into my head that I would pay her. This is a common bullshit idea in damn near every thread. There are locals that treat chicks good and there are foreigners that treat chicks like shit.

If you are here for 2 weeks, not many girls will want to start a relationship that isn't compensation based. I mean after-all, Even if you can speak some Spanish you won't be around to give her gifts on her birthday. You won't be around to buy her that new pair of shoes. Men are the providers (in this culture) and if you aren't going to be here to help out, she isn't likely to be interested.

OTOH if you do live here, speak Spanish and can be available to take her to dinner at a nice restaurant or maybe a weekend trip to Guatape or San Jeronimo or someplace else. Now you are very interesting to her. If she sees you as a friend who can help out in times of need you become very handsome even if you are her grandfather's age. Girls are groomed to find a stable man who can be a productive member of the family. Mothers tell their daughters. "it is just as easy to fall in love with a rich man as it is with a poor man". Obviously there aren't enough "rich men" to go around. But show a girl that you live here, and can be a friend and sex will follow since it isn't a big deal. It is almost as plentiful as avocados.

Only thing I will add: those slots have almost dried up. For various reasons, they are severely limiting the volume of girls during the day. That's sad because despite what's been reported here, the daytime action was sufficient. In the past couple years, you might have 5-10 girls hanging out. It was a low-pressure, relaxed environment, which is my style. Now? They are severely restricting girls during the day and they are scheduling them out weeks in advance. The result: fewer choices and girls far more anxious to cash in on "their" day.

Perhaps they say it because it's what I want to hear, but many of them have the stories to back it up. Also, if the local guys treat the girls so well, why the heck are so many of them single mothers? You're not much of a man if you abandon a girl (and your child) where I come from, but it's very common in their culture.
On the other hand the worst 'treatment' I hear about foreigners is usually them not tipping or having bad hygeine LOL.

Also one doesn't need to live in Colombia to provide birthday gifts and the like or even fill the role of "novio. " Many have a number of foreign men with this designation while the real novio is close to their age and Colombian. In fact good spending novios from afar are surely often preferred as they have to fuck them less.
