Very nice, I'm pleased the procedure went well. You are quite right about Zandaly and prime time. It's hectic at all the casas during big games and late afternoons. Especially on the 1st and 15th pay days. I keyed in on your report when you mentioned the Clinica Opthomologica because one of my top girls is a supervisor in the billing office there. I've not been treated there but during a couple of quick visits to pick her up for after work dinner (and dessert of course) it was easy to see it is a very serious institution. I would be comfortable under their care without hesitation.

If you look up Colombia, they are quite well regarded for eye surgery globally. Bogota is supposed to be even better than Medellin. The Clinica Opthomologica is 7 stories of offices exclusively oriented towards eye treatment. My surgery was pretty involved including implanting intercorneal ring segments and undergoing a course of corneal crosslinking. It took over 2 hours to do both eyes. I'm well into recovery and am super happy with the results. I spent about $3000, which is less than 1/4 of what I would have spent in the US, where crosslinking alone runs $2000-4000 per eye and the intercorneal segment implantation runs $2000 plus per segment (I had 3 implanted). Scheduling was super easy and flexible too. The recovery sucked for a couple of days but went pretty fast after that. I'm happy to share my surgeon's details over PM if anyone is interested. I wouldn't recommend what I did to just anyone. I speak Spanish fluently so I was able to communicate well with my surgeon and support staff..[/QUOTE]

Short time options right on the strip would certainly increase the volume of action. I think it's unlikely because of the reasons you mentioned, and also because the space is so much more valuable as full service hotels for tourists. Rooms are going for US $150 and up and new hotels are going up all along the streets leading to la 10. I see the classic signs of a construction bubble. Once the demand cools off a bit and the construction of rooms catches up I won't be surprised to see more of these rooms in the US $50 to $US70 range.

Maybe a few of the small Hostels on or near Calle 10 could be converted.

However this probably wouldn't fly with the City, but who knows, maybe legally it's allowed as to what's the difference with the Hotels around the area that allow SW's in with ID, albeit you will be paying quite a bit more than 20 K for a short time room.

And if some short time love hotels were to open up, there would probably be quite an increase in SW's plying their trade on Calle 10.

Would you recommend Medellin for someone who speaks 0 Spanish? Is it still possible to find independents for 100-150 k / h? Thanks in advance.

Didn't go inside the park but there are police under a pop up which it appears you have to go through to get in the prk. Saw girls inside so not sure how strict they are on the chicas. On 10th outside the parkIt was 1 am to 3 am and the quality was pretty low for my taste but they were still asking 300-400 k for a pop. We worked one down to 250 but I wasnt interested. Ill be back on the weekend for a hopefully better update.

I haven't had an issue luckily but I'm usually up front and tell them I have several girlfriends and they will visit. Is that an issue? One host got all heated and said prostitution is not allowed. I got pretend offended that how dare he call my girlfriends prostitutes and he chilled out. Wound up he is an absentee manager and the security staff had no issue with me bringing up chicas. Sometimes just asking their guest policy is sufficient to guage the situation. Obviously being discreet about the whole process is paramount. The more she looks like a regular chica the better.

TIA.[/QUOTE]Not sure if you are aware, but there is a separate forum here for the mansion (look for Casa Blanca). This was discussed there. But briefly, they allowed an important permit to expire, forcing its unplanned closure. Initially they thought they could get it renewed in a week; but like many government-related things in Colombia, things can take longer than desired. Now it seems they are expecting a two more-week delay before they get the new permit and can reopen the bar.

Almost sounds unionized in a sense for a SW at 3 AM morning asking for so much.

Or perhaps I'm just having a hard time reconciling and processing the way things are now.

Before the Pandemic the activity was always in and around Parque Lleras, but now Calle 10 has become what I guess you could call the "Strip" in Zona Rosa of Poblado.

If this is the new norm for the Strip, it's not surprising.

And with the lack of short time Love Motels nearby, the SW's in a lot of instances will have to spend more time with a client getting to and from their Hotel or Airbnb, hence higher pricing.

However as many are aware, a lot of the same SW's also work Centro. And I can't blame them for strutting their wares on the Strip for a much bigger payday, and if these SW's are actually getting over 250 K for short time at 3 AM, what the hell are they asking for at 10 PM.

Anyways, what your reporting is not surprising and unfortunately if it's the new norm, it's just another transition Medellin is going thru with all the increased tourism and foreign remote workers.

Thanks in advance.[/QUOTE]No. I wouldn't recommend Medellin for someone who speaks zero Spanish. I especially wouldn't recommend it for someone expecting to find prices unchanged from 2018.

While those prices may still be found, they will almost certainly require lots of negotiation, in Spanish and will be at incall locations, casas, or informal casas and not independents.

This probably sounds stupid but man I thought the working girls would be more obvious than they are to me. Sorry if this is a hand holding question, but how exactly do I find one? Do I just walk up to random girls I see on their own? I only saw three in the whole park and they looked like they didn't want to talk to anyone (looking down at their phone, sitting on a corner of a bench). I don't want to end up harnessing a poor civilian who's just waiting for her friends to show up. The hottest, youngest looking girls tend to congregate together in groups which tells me they are not working girls. Am I wrong to assume this?

Do I actually have to go into one of the clubs? I don't drink and am traveling solo, so I'd just be sitting around basically and hoping a girl would come up to me, which isn't ideal as I'd like to pick out the girl, not the other way around.

Part of the issue might be that I'm a young Latino guy so girls might not recognize me as a gringo on the prowl. Every girl I've seen on my trip so far has come from websites (I'll report on them all in a later post) and they've all been great but I wanted the experience of picking one off the park at least once on my trip. Do you have to go inside one of the restaurants or clubs to find them? How do you tell apart civilian girls from working girls? Sorry if this is obvious, just kinda struggling out here.
