No I live in California , and would not think of living in Thailand full time ,

but when I am in BKK it is to have fun and not ***** about everything ,
and yes I stay in the Farang bubble of Soi 4 , but have been all over the city for work too,

So lighten up a little , tell us some fun stories , you must have some of those too , it cannot all be bitching about everyone ,

Why would any guy in his right mind want to come live in Thailand as a working stiff trying to deal with the people here? That's enough to turn anyone into a grumpy, cranky, old misanthrope.

Far better to visit for a while until you are a bit older and wise enough to retire into the Farang bubble of Pattaya, aka paradise on earth, where there is nothing to complain about and the living is easy. :)

my original point, which i actually first made awhile ago in another post is that i hate farang who become more thai than thai, which btw was also old asia hand's point.

i hate farang who wai, bow and scrape to their perceived betters. i hate farang who dress like upcountry hicks when they live in some bumfuck village in isaan, thinking they're trying to fit in. isaan people just scratch their heads and wonder why the "bugsida" (that's isaan for "farang", just in case you don't know) with all that money would voluntarily dress like some f-ing rice farmer. i hate farang who think they're "geng" because they can eat phra-ra, a ton of chillis, and slurp noodles with the locals on the street. i hate farang who have the bad taste to drink johnny walker black because their hiso thai mates think this is the height of sophistication. most of all, i hate farang assholes like you who think that because they can "speak the lingo", and hit on bank clerks that they're in with the natives, and just too cool for school.

I'm planning a trip to Bangkok. I am very much in Ladyboys and I have read somewhere that I should not take one to my hotel.

I am not clear whether it is unsafe or the hotel would not let us in ?

Also are there any massage parlour with ladyboy ? I have seen some gay parlour addresses but I do not know whether this includes ladyboys.

-if your girl has tattoos don't show them in public. Very few regular Thai girls have them.

I would add to this:

Learn how to smile like a very kind old uncle playing with kids, practice it in the mirror, it will take you places. Good places. No matter how dumb you think it looks, use it.

Learn how to never get angry in public. When totally flipping out, use the old uncle smile, it will save your butt more times than you know.

Learn how to dress yourself, the Thai guy may hang out in a pair of 20 year old pants with holes and no shirt, but you can't. BKK: pants, shirt, shoes = even on Sat-Sun. Phuket: dressy island style, it's comfortable and it says more about you to the Thais than your mouth (or your Fortuner) ever could. Save the singlets for when you are right on the sand, no matter how old (or young) you are.

Learn how to take showers at least twice a day, it's a hot country and you freakin reek jack. Thais hate stinky people, they will avoid you like the plague and 'talk story' about you. You can get away with bad breath, bad manners, and a bad attitude. But if your body always smells like you just crapped Vieux Boulogne cheese in your BVDs, you are fucked. Cleanliness is politeness here, politeness is everything.

Sure there are lots more, but that's my? 2 worth.
