Thought I would add my first report on the Thailand section. I have just returned from Chiang Rai and must say I found the previous reports very useful. I stayed at a new hotel or rather an upmarket guest house in the centre of town, across the road from the Wancome Hotel and right next to the night bazaar. What amazed me was that everything is much cheaper then Pattaya or Bangkok, except for the girls. The going rate here seems to be 3000 baht for long time and 1500 for a short time, which I think is excessive. I found no shortage of women despite what some other reports have said. However I do agree that Chiang Rai should not be a place to visit based on mongering. I found the collection of bars at the back of the Wangcome Hotel very accomodating, as were the few bars situated in a little alley of the bus station. I had a couple of girls from each place and found it a very good experience, though I do baulk at the prices they charge here. There is one bar in the little alleyway where they fix you up with college students though you normally need to book a day in advance. The girls are not pros but come and work to help ends meet and at those prices they shouldn't have any problems. I found a real cutie aged 20 at the back of the aforementioned Hotel who had never been with a customer before. I managed to persuade her after two nights and on the second night and she asked me how much I would give her. We settled on 2000 baht which I thought was cheap for an all nighter all things considered. She was extremely shy, very good looking and probably one of the best experiences I have had in Thailand. I told her before she went to sleep that I was leaving to catch an 8.15am flight back to Bangkok and that I would need more action in the morning. Come six o'clock she was as obliging and enthusiastic as ever and I would consider going back just to see her again. I tried a couple of massage parlours and though they don't do anything on the premises, I found most willing to do hotel visits were "boom boom" was promised from the start. The good thing with these parlours is that an oil massage costs 400 back at the hotel with short time for 1000. So in my books that is better since you are getting a good massage as well as short time. I did visit the small private road mentioned in a few previous reports and went into the Lobo bar. This was expensive for drinks and I had three different girls pushing for me to buy them drinks even afterI bought one of them a drink. When I asked about taking a girl back all I got was "Phum mai lou". I would not recomment this place. I checked ISG when I arrived in Chiang Rai to get the latest information but couldn't find any threads at all. I guess that will teach me to check the spelling in future and not spell Chiang Rai, Chang Rai. Took me awhile to work that one out but I blame the Singha. All in all I enjoyed my experience in Chiang Rai and felt totally safe no matter where I walked at night.

There are several good courses in the area, in addition to the Royal Hua Hin course already mentioned.

Springfield is a Jack Nicklaus design, recently finished another 9 to give them 36. It would be the most expensive.

Equal in conditioning and design would be Majestic Creek and Imperial Lakeview - both of which have 27 holes and are very good tracks.

Next level down would be Palm Hills and Seoul Country club.

All of these are searchable, I think, but you can get a lot of info at thaigolfer.com and some other sites devoted to golf in the kingdom. Most places, with the exception of Royal Hua Hin, are going to require some transportation to get there. Many of the hotels have this set up for everyone, not only their guests. You will likely pay a premium if you go through a hotel, but there are other services on the main road that have packages to each of the courses each day.

I live here, so this time of year is actually the coolest for golf and is high season for the courses as well. We do play (and walk) during hot season, and that is grinding, but right now is not too bad.

Some three years ago CR police took care of all the smaller brothels. Prices at 'private' house, already high, soared after that.
Looks like the scene still hasn't recovered.
But, CR is ok for hanging out some time.

Paragon plays the "feng tau" songs. Hansa has sexy shows on the stage. Seems to be the most happening place at Danok and the favorite hangout now.

These are the prices that the girls expect and it was not a one off situation but the trend throughout Chiang Rai. I met with a few ex pats whilst in Chiang Rai and when I complained about the prices there (twice as expensive as Pattaya) they confirmed that it was normal.

Strange, I've never come across higher prices there, and I've been there many times.

Perhaps I'm just lucky.

Or perhaps it's coz I speak Kam Muang.

Despite whatever raids there are, the stretch of brothels along the old airport is still there for ST but it seemed more for locals as there were more "foreign girls" than thais like Burmese.

Also, the "farm" girls which the tuk tuk brough me charged me 2000 Baht for LT. I only went to one farm as I found my pick there from about 20 girls. She's a Northern Chinese (yunanese) and I find the price reasonable. I'm sure if I know the place myself, I should be able to get it cheaper as I guess the tuk tuk must have some commission but hey! what the heck so long as I find it worth it.

Those were gone after the raids... Now they're back? Time to visit, lah!
There was a 'barbershop', being a HY guy you get the meaning, on the right going towards the airstrip, which had a very pretty girl with huge fukken boobs to lure in the customers. She was the most expensive of the dozen or so girls inside: B400 for a ST. Others B200-300...

PS huge fukken means like E-cup and TF included:D. Oh my god, you can have it all on Saturday night:).

Too bad I didn't know about this area when I was there (but only stay for 1 nite) as nothing was worth staying longer for.
The price I was quoted by tuk tuk for LT was about 2500b/nite. Took me to about 2-3 places but nothing interested me.

Yeah. Went to paragon two weeks ago. Place is quite huge and the sounds system is very good. However, the girls quality is quite bad. Still prefer paragon in Hatyai. :)

Where is this Hansa Palace? I know about Spider and Sha La La which have sexy shows.....thanks

Heard that Danuk was very very happening so we had a short stopover at Danuk during my last trip in CNY, Went to a place called M & Y or MY. There were quite a few number of pretty Go Go dancers on the podium, totally nude too !!

Beers are at 100 baht per bottle ( Big Bottle ).

I must say that the scene in Danuk is definately much more happening than Hadyai although most discos play " Feng Tou " music which is unbearable...

I am always curious what is "feng tou" music?

I suppose that is music where you shake your head in line with the rhythm
