You might consider a walk along the seaside promenade, the Malecon, in Puerto Plata. At the far west end is a reconstructed Spanish fortification, with some items on display. For a dollar or two, a local there will give you a tour. Columbus gave Puerto Plata its name. Possibly for a later trip, a few hours by car to the west is Puerto Isabella, which was the first (failed) Spanish colony, started in 1493. It has the foundations of Columbus' only private house / residence in the New World. After the colony failed, he took the viceroy position at Santo Domingo, and lived in an official residence.

You might also consider a walk along the beach, starting in Costambar, just outside the BB complex. Or ask about the cable car rides available. Taking a chica you like is adviseable, as a guide, and to steer you clear of any bad situations. Not much in the way of "nature walks" in the POP area.

Wouldn't recommend a gringo walking alone in too many areas at night.

500 to 1000 pesos a day will cover your food, depending on how much you eat.

But your main costs, other than your room, will be chicas and alcohol, and we cannot help you there because we do not know your appetites.

Some guys are happy with one ST (short-time) per 24 hours (1800 pesos).

Others "need" two ST and one TLN (todo la noche. All-night) per 24 hours (6600 pesos).

How much and what you drink will affect your outlay a lot. Local drinks (beer, Cuba libre) are around 125 pesos a time. Imported drinks are expensive.

Some guys like to tip generously and buy the girls meals and presents. This can markedly increase your outlay, although there is no need to do these things if you do not want.

Recent BB visitors please tweak my pricing if I am out of whack.

Other factors are the length of your stay and how much Spanish your speak. If you are only there a few days and speak no Spanish you will be happy staying on campus with maybe just a walk along the beach or to the shops each day. Note that I have deliberately quoted in pesos, not dollars. Start thinking in pesos now, before your trip so you can evaluate prices as soon as you arrive. This can save you money.

Uber is finally in Puerto Plata area. I used it recently and price from BB to POP airport was below DOP 600 instead of DOP 2. 000. According to one chica Uber price can be lower than motoconcho sometimes.

Costambar taxi mafia is probably pissed. I only used it once without any issues.

BB staff did not have any recommendation back then because service is so new for PP area. BB may lose some commission they get from taxi mafia, so there is a conflict of interests.

You may come out better renting a car when you arrive at the airport. If you take a taxi from the airport to BB, then back to Avis to rent a car, you have already spent what it would cost to rent the car for 3 days.
