if you have specific information regarding some of the places on the list, why not give that information? as i said i just cut and pasted the list from an e-mail sent by a friend. if you have superior knowledge why not share it instead of speaking in generalities? as far as traveling around town looking into different casas i have done that several times myself, the only thing it has cost me is cab fare which is pretty cheap in cali. i have also found places that had hot 18-20 girls for $30,000cp, which information i have posted. if one of these places got busted for **** girls, then why not tell the rest of us so that we can avoid the place?

"Cali" and "Safe" is a contradiction in terms. Especially after dark. Wherever you go after dark, take a taxi! I was in Cali for only 10 days and I saw 2 dead bodies: victims of gunshots!

There are SO MANY casas in Cali that it is difficult to recall the names of many that I have visited. While I recall a few of the names, many are a blur (there is almost never a sign with the name out front).
While the ones listed as an Avenida followed by Norte are North of the river and generally "safer" than the South side casas, even parts of the Zona Norte are iffy. For example, Calle 20 near Flores Frescas (the most upscale house in Cali) is WAY iffy unless you like thieves and travestis (which are both NUMEROUS in that area!). I would NEVER have exited the taxi in that area, and would CERTAINLY slouch down in the seat while passing to avoid attracting attention.
Except for RIGHT ON the Sexta (and then only busier sections), walking at night is STRONGLY DISCOURAGED by everybody. I do it between my hotel, antifreeze'office and the Sexta, but without carrying valuables and with GREAT caution. Local friends and taxistas discourage it though. The taxi drivers will generally know where to go and where not to go, but as a gringo you WILL stand out like a sore thumb ANYWHERE in Cali (except Hotel Inter where the marriage agencies are located).
Chorizo: Funny you mention Kaliente in Popayan because I HAVE been there and there was nowhere near 40 girls. HUGE facility (unlike Kaliente in Cali which is small), but ZERO customers and maybe 7 or 8 girls. I had other reasons to go. Traveling there by land is INSANE (one flight per day from Bogota on the airline run by the Colombian Airforce Satena). It is like a prison with all the security plus you cannot leave the city in ANY direction without crossing FARC roadblocks. Only for the VERY brave (or VERY stupid).
Sorry about the Jamundi comment. I really have no beef with you except that you sparred with my good friend Freeze who is one of the GOOD guys. In any event, I should NOT have suggested you take such a risk even in a joking fashion.
The point is that the risks in Cali are real, and you must ALWAYS know where you are and where you are going. Exploration, which I LOVE, is simply NOT a wise thing to do in Cali (or Medellin or Bogota or just about anywhere in Colombia save San Andres and Cartagena). While I generally view the State Department travel warnings as WAY overparanoid, on Colombia they got it preety close tro0 accurate (Cartagena and San Andres are the ONLY places reccomended for Americans to visit).

Thanks to all for the valuable information. The lists really come in handy for us who may be visiting Cali for the first time. Matter of fact, I copied and pasted a few of them already. From reading past reports, is it the consensus that Flores Frescas and Kaliente are the top two or are there others that are close in quality and quantity? Also, Simple Man mentionned a few escort agenices. Should consider these to be the best of Cali or are there others to consider. What about massage parlors or other options?
I have personally never been to Cali so I am pondering the possibility of going later this year. There is so much to consider. On one hand, I am hearing everyone in Cali carries a gun and that I would be roadkill if I walked around alone at night. On the other hand, I am truly fond of the Colombianas, and have already visited Panama City, Rio, and Buenos Aires. What will probably decide my fate is the daytime options. What do mongers do in Cali when they aren't mongering? Just chase non-pros or are there historical or cultural activities of interest? I am aware of Cali's reputation of being a salsa hotspot, but I don't know how to salsa.
