Hi guys,
Any chance of me getting an action in a 7hr transit in Bangkok?
Cheers,
Sharath
It's hard for anyone to give advice if you don't specify what time of day it would be. The options would vary a lot depending on what time of day you are there.
I'm sure this guy, lives in some Thai hovel, because it's authentic, and eats noodles on the street, with the locals, and chats with motor-cycle taxi guys, so he can practice his Thai. He wai-ed the new gangster/president of the school at a recent meeting to such a degree that, had he bent over much more, he would have fallen on his head, and been done up the bum by the pres's gay assistant. In contrast, I didn't wai (for which I was criticized), but merely offered a firm handshake, which I feel is more appropriate for a Farang. I have wai-ed on occasion, but usually in a perfunctory way, because I see it as classist, obsequious fawning. When Farang do it, it's usually quite nauseating.
Darn, OTH, now you're not only being fuxored by the Thai but by the falang, too??!
Anyway, some options here in Bangkok in case you want to go out instead of writing long reports:
- SoL for the exhibitionist.
- Demonia for the masochist.
- Soi 33 for the intellectual, to discuss whether it's MOnet or actually MAnet (happy hour until 9 for the unemployed intellectual).
Di-da-doh!
You forgot open toed sandals with those ever chic black anklet socks.
ah, yes. Where are the fashion police, when you need them.
My favorite though are the 80 y.o. northern European women with skin like old nogahyde, stomachs with a surface like the washboards played by a Southern US jug band, and nipples making tracks in the sand, who insist on going topless in full view on Patong and worse, then leave the beach to munch on some Phad Thai at the over-priced beach restaurants with tits still out and tickling the bean sprouts adorning their noodles, while the Thai wait-staff look on in slightly disdainful resignation mixed with amusement.
It's enough to make you up-chuck.

All of these posts are nothing to do with fucking in Bangkok.
This is the Bangkok Reports thread.
Please move these posts over to the Living in Thailand thread.

At least when you're fucked over by Thais, it's genuine, as opposed to being done by Farang who are just pretentious wannabes and posers.
BTW, for intellectual discussion on soi 33, I never go any further than, a sit down with Giotto, while he smokes, tap, tap, taps at his laptop, bitches about this and that (good company for me) and surveys his domain.
Careful, Paulpaulo. You have managed to violate the forum rules with your very first post.
There's also a rule against mentioning other forums, so it's not even possible to recommend other places for this guy to go ask. But of course there are a few forums out there that deal with Thailand, Bangkok and Pattaya nightlife, and I'm pretty sure they're more lax about this issue.
The guy also doesn't have PM turned on, so it's hard to help him.

Di-da-doh!
Oh! Centaurus, on that note, I had almost let it slide by without saying something:
I wanted to extend a big thank you for the tip on the Mandarin Nana Plaza. My Japanese buddies loved it, they scored bigtime, so did I. Best night out in their visit to Thailand. :D
That simple little reply of yours made for a night memorable for all of us. If there is anything I can do... and I will definitely keep this stored in my alleged mind... I owe you one. Thanks!

I like the middle aged balding guys who wear headbands as if they just stepped out of Fame 30 years later but forgot to change. Thailand is also the land of bad Farang haircuts. It's like going to Cuba and seeing old Pontiacs - here you get to see every bad male fashion misstep from the 1970's on.
As to the English debate - I am not sure I see the issue - if some people want to live in a bubble and not speak a word of Thai and they are loving life so be it - but if on the other hand folks want to immerse themselves in Thai culture good for them. Whatever floats your boat. I've been coming to Thailand for vacations since about 1993 and never made even a mild attempt to learn the language - but now that I am here nearly fulltime I finally picked up a book on Thai and have been slogging thru it a bit every day.
I'll never be good at this language with its tones - a girl went thru the various meanings/pronunceations of Khao the other day and every one of them sounded exactly the same to my tin ear - but I am finding it enjoyable and maybe in a year or two if I stick to it I will be able to make a Thai understand me from time to time. You may say why bother - simply because I want to. The only contact I have with Hi-so's is when I brush by them at Paragon but at least the folks I deal with seem to think it is na-rak that I am trying. Whether they really think I am a jerk is their business. Certainly the girls have enjoyed helping me out when they first get here rather than immediately jumping into sex - its turning into a good way to slow things down and build some rapport - I especially like going over the body parts with them - juvenile certainly but aren't most of us who are hitting on young women. Last night every time I pronounced a word correctly, she clapped - silly but fun. It was good motivation. If only she had clapped as much during sex.
At least when you're fucked over by Thais, it's genuine, as opposed to being done by Farang who are just pretentious wannabes and posers.
Insults? Crabby attitude? Can't believe somebody may actually have a real life here in Thailand (or anywhere else for that matter? ) Must be a teacher. I am sure that you have heard this one a few hundred thousand times "Those who can, do, " big guy, "and those who can't, " well you know, they b! Tch, ad nausea, on BBSs.: D Especially those unfortunate souls that happen to get stuck teaching in SE Asia it seems.
OK. I should know, every single one of my family, and extended family, is a long term tenured professor somewhere out there on this little planet, and all THEY do is b! Tch too, about the committees they are stuck on, university politics, sabbatical allowances, etc, on and on. Thing is, none of them, not one, complain about the students like the farang teachers do here in Thailand.
I was the black sheep, left home the day I turned 18, and now look where I am. Fucking hot little 18 yr old Asian chicks almost daily, (this IS ISG right, I can say that right? Sheesh) living in what some might call paradise, and flying to work every week: Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Xiamen, etc. That's why I live in Phuket, it's in the hub, the flights the spokes, and the outer ring of the wheel are the cities. It didn't start out like that, it took a lot of risk, going back to school, falling down a bunch of time, more risks, and experiences never to be forgotten everywhere, even here in the Kingdom. But there it is.
Making any sense to you at all yet?
No? OK. Wanna see some pics? Heh.
OK, that's all for this thread, I would suppose. Broken down into little old fart b! Tchy nothings, and an obvious waste of time for everybody. Perfect day here, I'm off to the beach.
If you live here, learn how to speak Thai people, don't worry about the HiSo's, they are all just so much air in the dirty cotton candy of Thailand, and get off your butts and do something. Do something every day. And for crap's sake, stop pissing on everybody if you don't/won't. Life is too short. Oh, and one more thing, stay out of Isaan, it's a black hole with no way back.

My brain works in a weird way, I have been here 4 years and still don't speak Thai. I just can't put my mind to learning a language that I know is totally useless to me (or at least will be when I leave Thailand). What the point in investing my time in thai Language when everyone around me speaks English? and all the people (Thais) I do business with are all graduates from overseas universities?
I already speak 3 languages adn I think that is enough for me at the moment.

It depends on the time you arrive in BKK. 7 hours is not a lot, but it is enough to get AT LEAST one good session in.
A quick calculation would be 1 hour from the airport to Sukhumvit (or Ratchadapisek soapies area), 1 hour from the area back to the airport, 2 hours to check back in (immigration, customs, etc). That leaves you 3 hours to play.
With good planning, and depening on the time, you can get 2 good sessions in, and even have enough time to get a bite to eat.

Same here...

OTH, if it's any consolation at all, we have exactly the same sort of culturally obsequious foreigners here in the Philippines; guys who immediately "go native," on arrival and obsess on the "simple delights of paradise." The fact that they know nothing of the culture, are oblivious to the duplicity and impervious to the disdain with which they are viewed by the locals is immaterial to these "plus royalist que le roi," types. It's comforting to know that I'm not alone and that this holier than thou attitude also persists in Thailand.
I'm sorry that I never met you at Giotto's last week. You could doubtless have contributed to my continuing education.

Sharath
Tell the taxi desk you want to go to the Emerald Hotel on Rachada Rd. This will cost your about 400B($14usd). This hotel is located across the street from 6 different soapie massages, my favorite being Natatree.(where I had my first threesome). The girls are lighter skin and in my opinion better looking than the go-go bar girls. The soapies I am referring to are open from 3pm-midnight. If you happen to land during a different time I would recommend the following. 2000B average or 2600B+ hotties
Before 3pm and after 10am- massage on Sukumvit Soi 22 (Teen massage, Angel massage, etc) 400B for 1hr and 1500B or lower for FS cute girls
After mid-night before 2am. Go to Nana Hotel (Nana Plaza is located across the street) Short time run can be had for 300 baht. You can do several if you like because if you arrive around this time there is no traffic. 600B bar fine and 1000B-1500B short time
These are your quickest option for some thai meat
Current exchange rate is 34B per 1usd. Good luck and have fun.
