Situation back to 'normal' since Saturday: no more lockdown, and flights at Tana back to normal too.
Situation back to 'normal' since Saturday: no more lockdown, and flights at Tana back to normal too.
Very deluded opinion.
Emirates not yet flying there.
A temporary president is residing, not able to call for elections within the 60 day schedule as demanded by the constitution.
Gen Z wants big changes of the constitution. But the forces behind want to stick with the old French style where the Prime Minister can enforce the passage of laws without a vote in Parliament like a dictator.
A lot of international support money does no longer flow.
Once all this is settled, I would consider it getting normal.
However, NosyPattaya remains untouched from the misery as if it does not belong to Madagascar.

What does that mean? Right now police army and gendarmerie getting still paid. Wait until they don't get salaries. Then there will be lawlessness abound. In the bad old days army walking into stores robbing the cash register in broad daylight. Right now a lot of want to be investors are getting cold feet. A lot of Karane specially with Mauritian passports took off for the time being. For now GenZ is content. But. There's a big but. While the new president is actually a Bara the new prime minister chosen by parliament was too close to the DJ.
La Buse.

Regarding the 'normal situation', of course I was not talking about the country political situation. I was talking about our national sport: no more lockdown, and all restaurants, bars, taxi be, and others are open.
Gents,
Thanks for your input, but I think we got a bit distracted. To put into context, I am not a French speaker, and the only carrier near me which flies directly into Nosy be is Neos out of Milan, which means I would need to connect in the first instance.
I wanted to know, if it were worth my time travelling there when there is Kenya and Morocco available to me, in the context of a punting holiday. I do love the look of the Madagascan girls.
Given we have no idea about your finances and preferences it is impossible to give an answer. What is your budget? How fancy a hotel do you need? What kind of food do you like? Do you fancy fat girls, skinny girls? Can you speak 2 words of French? Are you prepared for a 30 hour journey from hell on a taxi brousse if you are too cheap to fly?
Start by reading the last 200 posts. All of that information is there. Then come back with some questions. Ultimately no one can decide for you. Give it a go or not.

Its not over yet: Doctors at Be Hospital in Toliara have not entered the emergency room for two weeks. They are demanding better conditions and a reasonable salary. And so it goes over the whole country. Just watch your back if you travel round. But a crisis can create opportunities. LOL.
My trip to Madagascar was very interesting, I was surprised by how poorly French was spoken in that country. Believe it or not it's considered a part of Africa thus the infrastructure is terrible there. Lots of beggars, seedy looking cops, I mainly ate at a KFC that most locals can't even afford to eat from it wasn't like it was very expensive but for the locals $5 meal is too much especially reconsidering some make barely 1. 50 per day doing backbreaking labor! The food I strongly recommend eating from a rich area period! So on too pussy downtown was flooded with hookers at night, local price given: 9000 AR expect to be asked for 45000 AR by the women if you're a foreigner. The women were very accommodating during sex overall no rushed services. I noticed a lot of women was trying to allure me to their rooms with a promise of no condom sex or anal sex. I had several issues with women trying to pick my pockets. Pimps and police are present in the red light areas it was hard to tell what street I was on because people will remove the street signs. Some areas wasn't lit at all I remember walking down the streets getting cat called by women lurking in the shadows. The women there on the average do not have big ass they seems to not able to produce one like. Hygiene was equally bad among the Asian, Blasian and black women of that country not everyone stinks but some folks shower and wash their clothes in very dirty water! I didn't have no issues paying bribes to police officers. I found it weird I had to say something in French and use sign language in order to communicate with the locals. There's plenty of thieves and robbers in that country if you're not used to an urban environment I strongly recommend you not taking the street action route. Another thing I wanted to mention the ATMs they do have in that country don't have any money in them lucky for me I hide my cash I bring with me very well just in case of an emergencies.
I wouldn't recommend coming to that country for mongering, you get a strong sense of danger driving through certain neighborhoods in a taxi. A few people there speak damn good English and you can hire some of these people as a guide. Kenya is better option but then again that country has security challenges also. I returned back to Nairobi a city that's now up selling the hell out of foreigners for BJ's, position changes and blah blah blah! The people in Kenya don't speak English that good and most can't read it well neither Kiswahili is the national language. Madagascar Malagasy is the national language that everyone is required to learn. It's more helpful picking up a book on that language.

Regardless of all that, that country been fucked up before Europeans set foot on that ***** just like the rest of Africa.

Countries like Uganda and Kenya those women look ugly and hideous because before and after colonization incest was considered cultural appropriation for many tribes in those countries I found that out when I went to Uganda for the fist time. My only complaint about Malagasy women are that they don't have much a big behind on the average to play with and also they shower in dirty water if not that they stink in generally. Hey beggars can't be choosers in 2025.
I am travelling to Africa, and I was looking around to check for a new destination. And you all describe Madagascar as a paradise, so I was considering. But I checked on Google Images for some pics, and I can't see any hot girls. I have been twice in Uganda, and I am considering going there again for a couple of weeks, but then I could possible go to Addis Ababa instead. I like Eritrean girls, I have a seen a few hotties in Kampala, and Ethiopian are not so different. What can you tell me about the girls in Nosi Be?
I am sure it is easy and cheap, but let's talk about quality. Ugandan girls, for example, aren't so hot.
I hardly know where to begin. Some of the things you say are fairly accurate. On the other hand, I have been to Mada 6 or 7 times and it mostly reads like we were in two different countries. And where the hell are the KFCs? For 5 bucks you can eat a good meal at many French run places and even some Malagasy owned do a creditable job. Granted I missed my trip this year but I have never even seen one in Tana, let alone the rest of the country.
I stand corrected. They do have KFC! I guess you can tell how little regard I have for them that I didn't know, or care! Fill your boots. I'll take a medium rare zebu tenderloin with pepper sauce.
I'll take a medium rare zebu tenderloin with pepper sauce.
Eating at KFC in Mada... 🙄 C'mon, experience the french food or even the local spots. If you know good 'gargotte' where to go (in Ambatoloaka), you can eat zebu skewers, coco rice, and a slice of fruit for 10.000 ariary. Not for 1, but for 4 people! Much better than KFC and never had stomach issues!
