Thanks for the insight. Based on the cost involved and apparent lack of safety, I've decided I won't bother and just stick to Morocco. I require a certain level of comfort on my holiday tours. I could imagine Thailand in the early 90's was much the same as Nosy Be now. Can it get better? Who knows, maybe not considering the work ethic, or lack of it.

If things ever get better in the future, I may revisit the idea of visiting there.

Wouldn't the KFC have been trashed anyway along with the rest of the Tana Waterfront shops? It seems the Radisson hotels in there came out ok, though.

Like Tana Waterfront. Some people were paid to take out businesses belonging to unwanted competition. Notably the ethnic Indians and Chinese. You pay little money to pay some goons.

Who in his right mind eats at KFC? No one. Except a few rich Malagasy and US Embassy personnel. And some clueless sex tourists afraid to get food poisoning. Stay away. The best you can do. We don't need you here. The most popular fast food place in Madagascar is Pizza Gastronomy.

Plenty of places. Which I'll not write about of course. Nosy Be is not Madagascar. It's an Island off the mainland befallen from a disease called tourism. Buildings are going up as if there's no tomorrow. The character of a once charming island will soon be gone. But I'll continue to travel. Plenty of good countries which are dirt cheap now due to currency implosion. But Madagascar will always be home for me.

If another westerner with their typical lazy ass mindset keep pushing the so called economic growth (opening the flood gates of foreign money) to countries as Mada, it won't change the people or their mindset. Instead, it will cramp the prices up ridiculously in the service industry catch up to the price hikes (including adult entertainment industry). And the Mada we once knew will ceased to exist. Kudos to all the experienced members who don't put the hidden gems in this forum or anywhere in social media.

Also the new developments will not target the locals as their primary market but the tourists. It's the same thing UN being doing for ages. Flooding the poor countries with unsustainable debts that their own people could not live their anymore. We all fly to mada for one main reason. You can't have both. You can't have cheap pussy and noble white night tourist mentality at the same time. That's what you have done to Bali, Phil and Thailand.

They travel to SEA and then wife a ho who have been banged more times than Steve wonder's toes and then complain why they can't make it in their own country. They sell their belongings and fuck up big times in Asia. It's been happening in Mada a lot with the new tourist boom. I am kinda glad Nosy Be and Mada main island isn't the same.

In Ambatoloaka prices start upwards 30 to 80€ a night if you want 24 hours power and maybe Aircon if the generator is strong enough. No need to speak French. Just say fair l amour to anything which walks around looking hot. Prices for hot ones are approaching 40€ + or 200 k MGA. This country is one of the last frontiers in the world to get away with affordable child sex tourism. I really didn't want to say it initially but that what goes down there despite the fact they got a law on castaration if you participate in the activities. Some areas are extremely nice and then you walk a kilometer then you're literally in shut town almost like someone dropped an atomic bomb in that area. And the food here sucks, plenty of faggots, trannies trying to get a piece of the pie too. On the plus side word spreads quickly if you got a big dick you're going to start to garner a bunch of unwanted attention.
