Dongguan (check the thread) , perhaps? But I am unaware of a quick, hassle-free visa for most nationals. There is no quick deal there: you need the passport pix, application, and all. An expedited service of a few days might be possible at the consulate, but at an extra cost. Also, for US citizens at least, the visa is multiple-entry for a year (about USD 100-125 with two or three weeks processing, but my experience was from the US; perhaps it is quicker in HK).
1) US Citizen applying in US may get a one-year multiple entry visa for China and it takes about a week.
2) US Citizen with HK I'd applying in HK may get a one-year multiple entry visa for China and it takes about 2 days.
3) US Citizen with frequent traveler pass applying in HK may get a six-month multiple entry visa for China and it takes about 2 days.
4) US Citizen visiting and applying in HK may get a six-month single or double entry visa for China and it takes about 2 days.
This had been more or less in effect since 2008.
I also do not know of any place in China that you can take a taxi and go to! You may take a van or train and go to CP (about an hour away with train) but you must know the place and be guided or speak Chinese. Check the China thread.
I hope it happens at the same time. Would be great, like getting a root canal and endoscopy done in one sitting. Just get it over with, the biggest collection of assholes (and I do refer more to the Sevens crowd) in and out.
Will probably go to Singapore at this time.
It is a wild scene in HK during the Rugby 7's.

Wondered around Wanchai for a little while tonight.
Most bars had good crowds. But never seen so many guys and so few girls.
A good night for the ladies.
Vitamin C. Last month in HK I got a box of 4 for 360 HK. Random pharmacy in Northpoint.

Sometimes I understand why the Chinese think of us the way they do.

Was out and about today and suddenly decided on a quickie. Time was of the essence so I was limited to my surroundings, fortunately there is a building with several 141 girls at 119-125 Electric Road, Tin Hau. Unfortunately more than half did not seem to be working today. Knocked on all available doors and eventually settled for Lily who was the best of a bad bunch. Face not great, body not great, tits almost flat, but smiley girl with nice attitude and spoke passable English. Claimed to be from Shanghai. The experience was very routine except she did BBBJ and while fucking her doggy when I was ready to cum she turned around, I yanked off the condom and she let me CIM. It had been a few days and I had a pretty full load but she was a trooper and took it all in, too bad she did that Asian hacking it all back up into the wastebasket thing right afterward. The building is nasty and the girls nothing special, but CIM for $300 can't be beat.

Last night
Wondered around Wanchai for a little while tonight.
Most bars had good crowds. But never seen so many guys and so few girls.
I met up with Chaos Theory last night (he is visiting from Singapore). We started in 109, then moved over to Handle Bar.
The streets did look quite bereft of ladies.
I staggered off home with a takeway (food) , but left CT to forage for a long haired takeaway. Maybe he will report later.
Cheers.

APAC Man
Sorry APAC Man, replying to your post as opposed to the original poster.
Use google and find the China foreign office in HK. Something with fm, co, p, r, c. G, o, v. Hk. (remove comma and spaces). More official info. You can get Shenzhen and Guangdong visas for those specific areas only. Group (and I use this term loosely) and individual are available. With China you can go anywhere but more scrutiny and often not necessary. Again use google to get more info.
Big international travel agencies (as well as local ones) can help you with difficult passports. You need time and shop around for a helpful person.
Unless you have US and UK docs, you used to just get a Shenzhen visa at the border on the spot at the train station. Not sure if you need to be HK resident but you should call and check. (Have done before with Filly on visa run with overnight in Sauna or hotel) Cars / buses with dual license plates can also drive you. Special transports available at the airport.
Guangdong gets you up to the party further north of the border.

Stagger into Wanchai / LKF at around 8pm. And a few collapse on the footpaths. What am I saying. Footpaths become the road during this time.

Handle Bar
Have noticed that Handlebar is getting more customers!
It is indeed.
Friday night was very busy, late.
If you mean Saturday, it was a birthday party for one of our mates.
Cheers.
