She said her and family who recently moved to the US will never go back to Brazil since it is the most dangerous country in South America. I actually believe it since many news reports confirm that. The level of violence in Brazil are things you only see in movies, and Colombia is no where near that bad, so think again LOL.

She said you could be in a Taxi right out of the airport, and moto gangster will drive by the taxi w guns and rob you and the driver while you're at a stop light. In fact not only she broke it down to me, I also read and watched many taxi drivers now enhenced their cars to be bullet proof LOL. Yeah I know, I laughed also thinking it couldn't be that bad it is. You have drivers with bullet proof cars so that they can transport the tourist in peace from the Airport or around. I think once you're in the city and blend in and no one knows you then it's fine. But I hear both Rio and Sau Paulo we should stay away from. I'm still going to go, just sharing a story.

That kind of stuff make Colombia look ok still. If we control our little head in our pants for the most part we'll be alright in Col.

1. At least for me, flights are much cheaper and shorter to Colombia.

2. Spanish is a useful language in almost every country in Central and South America and the Caribbean, as well as Spain.

I've been told by people who I trust that Brazil is much better, but when the quality in the clubs and the scoping incidents generally don't concern me, and when I have excellent reasons to return to Colombia, it's not an easy sell.

My last trip to Medellin was a real dud. Can't say the same for my Brazil trip. I've never been robbed by a motorcycle gang. Although my next trip I arrive at like 1 am. First time leaving the airport that late at night. I hope nothing happens other than no traffic which will be awesome.

Maybe someone else can chime in on how many but you won't have to worry about that at a hotel. That place is a sitting duck for armed robbers.

The mansion bar is a bar / lounge with music and so is Lleras Park Club. The real difference is that Lleras Park will have from 50 to 70 girls depending on the time of the night whereas the Mansion is very hit or miss with having from only a few girls to a max. Peak of a dozen or so. No comparison.

Number one, Brazilian taxi drivers don't stop at red lights. Red stands for recommend to stop in Brazil. 2) no taxi driver could afford to bullet proof their car. Most ridiculous thing I ever heard. I heard all those crazy type stories about Colombia. The only real threat to you in Colombia is scoping or someone breaking into your Airbnb or apartment.

There are down market strip clubs in Centro and higher end strip clubs in the neighborhoods surrounding El Poblado. You can have sessions on site or pay big to bring them to where you are staying. If the Mansion angle is about someone to speak English to you or gringos to hang around with then it's best to just go to Lleras.

Latin America in general is dangerous af and those two countries have been at or near the top of the list for decades.
