I have been in Medellin for 4 days now and have not had a great time meeting prepagos. Even though the dough is there maybe they only like old men as that what I only see around parque lleras. There could be two issues one is that I do not look like a typical gringo and second that my Spanish is quite good so I think they just pass me by with out a second look thinking I am some Colombian scrub. I am new to the game here in Madellin but a different story in Panama. I tried to contact the mansion to know if there were any parties I could attend or meet some people, the lady on the phone said it was not possible unless I had a room there que madres so much for net working any way I am already booked at another prestigious hotel. So far my experience has been various strip clubs nothing special in my opinion. So amigos I would like to meet some of you out there or if you need a wing man just PM me. Some beers, couple of nice chicas or finding some your help will be greatly appreciated.

Tell the staff Boyd or Robert especially, what you are looking for and let them make some recommendations. Also let Boyd tell you where the best casa girls are currently working at. Hey fellas,
I'm new to the MDE thread but used to play in Rio a good bit and posted some reports 10 & 5 years ago but just can't take it anymore and am looking to get out and see some beautiful chicas!
Short story is 37, pretty good shape and going to pop in on a Tuesday and Leave Saturday, I know basic Spanish, and have about 1000-1500 to play with for my 4 night / 5day excursion.
Questions:
1. Looking to stay at the Mansion because I know no one and I'm always up for meeting new friends and fellow hobiest. Seems they can show me around or at least point me in the right direction, hopefully.
2. Normal routine before was wake up at Noon, grab a bite, hit beach from 2-4ish grab a chica to relax, take a siesta for a few hours, grab some beers with bro's. Hit dinner around 10ish with a new chica or bro's and then hit club at midnight to 1AM party enjoy drink do a nighter with Chica or an hour if tired. Go to bed 4-5AM rinse and repeat. Is this typical procedure for MDE, and if not what is?
3. I'm all for hitting casas or strip clubs during day or early evening but I'm more into the club, dance or lively bar scene late night. Can I do this at night with a pretty damn sure idea for scoring a hotty?
4. I thought about getting a GFE4Week for 4 hours on first afternoon in to let off steam, pop my MDE cherry and practice my Spanish a bit, plus since I have no network I thought she may invite some friends to hook up for the late night party at club or wherever?
Just looking to do some homework before I comeout in Late March or Early April and hope MDE is 1/2 as good as RIO, becuase that's juts a sick sick debauchery place. GOD I MISS IT!

You grab a beer with fellow mongers and do chicas and also do late dinner. However, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday are not ideal for the late night party scene. The only real venues going on til 4am will be San Diego Strip Show and Fase II. Also a place called Mayorista which in itself never closes but the bars shut down early during the week.

Depending on what looks you prefer, Medellin can be a great experience or a great disappointment if you are going to compare it to Rio. The same can be said vice versa.

Here's the scoop, don't fuck it up. The casas during the days if thats your thing. But otherwise hit Mayorista (its safe) at 10pm. Stay have a couple beers, then hit Luna Luneras (strip club). If your not alone try El Centro. About 1am fall into Sandiego, buy a bottle of rum (25usd) and enjoy the show (completely safe). Pass out your number for an afternnon delight. Sleep late. Hit Sante fe mall for a late lunch or get on the Metro and get off at San Antonio station and walk around. Take a late nap and repeat. Plain and simple. Don't make it difficult.

Just one question to all, and I know that you may have answered this one before but it won't hurt if you do it again, can anyone tell me based on your experiences where can you get the best exchange rate from US dollars to Colombian pesos in Medellin? A friend of mine said that the best way is just to get your money from an ATM machine and that all the US cards work over there but is this the best option?
I'm from Tijuana and everyone knows here that the best exchange rate in Mexico is found at las casas de cambio (exchange houses) and that you get screwed by the banks in poor exchange rates and high fees if you do it any other way, is it different in Colombia?

After I complained that if he thought the bill was bogus he should have given it back to me instead of destroying it. I was then told by a friend that is the policy in Colombia to do that. I guess I will have to learn how to rub the bills the way I see everyone else I pay money to.
The ATM machines give out good money. I always use them. TD Bank gives me the best rate with no fees of the four ATM cards I use. Of course you don't get the real exchange rate, but the poor banks have to make a living too. If you go to a bank in Colombia to change money they put you thru a big hassle. Changing money on the sreet is another issue. I think it makes you a possible target. Don't forget you as a tourist are a big point of interest to some very shady locals

While paying for burgers at the McDonald's in el Poblado, the cashier showed me a fake 10K I was paying with, and he just returned it to me without tearing it up.
Though it looked real, through closer inspection, I could see it was a fake.
The chica I was with who had asked for McDs, showed me how to check for fakes, then she asked me for the fake
Bill for safekeeping, though I'm guessing she'll use it later.
I'm pretty sure I got the fake bill from one of the little motels there on the Mayorista while paying for a room, so keep an eye out there for fakes.
One time, a while back, I received a fake 50 from the ATM at Citibank (I think it was San Diego). I knew it was fake when I went to pay for my son's Colombia passport and the guy receiving the bills cut a diamond into the center of the bill and returned it to me.
You never know what you can be stuck with and by whom. This was a "respectable" institution and I got stuck. No way to complain after I had left the area.

In the airport after you get your luggage and clear DAS find a way to go upstairs as if you were departing on a flight. I know it is a pain in the ass to do this with your luggage and of course you are travelling alone so there is no one else who can just watch your bags.
There are two or three ATMs where you can take out all the scratch you need if you must have pesos immediately.
