So Songkran is not a good time to go? I assume this is for the same reason, because a lot of the girls go home to Isaan? Damn, Songkran sounds cool, I was hoping to check it out this year.
Dude, don't go to Patts during Songkran whatever you do. The water fights are fun for one day, but getting sprayed with ice cold water and having chalk smeared on you whenever you go outside quickly gets annoying by the second day and it goes for a whole week in Pattaya. There is no opting out of it, and wherever you go during the day you will get sprayed.
If the only time you can go is during Songkran, stay at a hotel with a swimming pool so you can relax there during the day and don't need to venture outside during the day time. It quiets down at night.

Songkran goes downhill quickly especially once foreigners/farangs become inebriated. They go way overboard with the water guns. Some are not even inebriated and still act like lunatics with water guns. Rudeness, and disrespect become the norm. Can quickly lead to a fight, stabbing (or worse). The Thai's themselves can be aggressive with the celebration. But they never let it get to the point of blatant disrespect.
I'll never go to Phuket or Pattaya during Songkran again. Too many drunken foreigners kill the vibe. And they won't stop if you say "no thanks mate" Properly beating off a drunken farang hell bent on offending you with a water gun. Is not worth going to prison for in Thailand.

AGREED! Songkran is terrible! One day is fun, everything else after that is not as fun as it sounds, luckily Songkran in Pattaya starts the day after it ends in Bangkok. So if you can only go during this time you can avoid it by splitting time in Bangkok.

You did well to to last one day...the novelty wore of for me after about 3 hours.
Just as you dry off from a soaking you get soaked again. Not to mention the hassle of protecting your wallet, phone, camera, etc.

Some guys claim that Songkran is great fun -------- I have experienced it once, never again, OK for 7 year olds or guys with the mind of a 7 year old, to see what I mean check out Songkran on You-Tube.
AVOID.

AVOID.
Its an experience. Soi 6 on Songkran can be nice, semi-wholesome fun. Unless your in a BKK shopping center, BTS, your likely to get wet during Songkran in Thailand or you will be crossing the street often to avoid groups of kids/people stationed at street corners and riding in roving pick ups.
One positive is. If your out all day, you won't look tired and sweaty, you will just be soaked.
It's been a while since I've had the Soi Six experience.
Five years ago, 2005 or so, it was bar fine 300 baht for the bar fine with the room included for one hour.
The girl was paid 500 Baht.
I was there yesterday and had the cutest little girl. She was 20, relatively new, and didn't speak English, but I'm practically fluent in Thai (speaking-wise - I haven't practiced or studied formally for a while so my writing skills are a bit rusty), so it didn't matter.
After fooling around on the couch for a while, I wanted to go upstairs, and she said 1000 Baht. I was totally cool with it and so I gladly paid her. The shower was broken afterwards, so we hung out in the room and fooled around some more. I gave her an additional 200 Baht at the end.
I'm sure I probably paid too much, but I'd like to know what the going rate is at Soi Six.
Since it was 500 Baht in 2005, I assumed it might have gone up since then, but I also believe that 1000 Baht was probably the optimistic asking price.
In these times, with the USD at 30 THB, I've heard it's not hard to get girls in Pattaya and BKK down to 1500 Baht, ST.
TL;DR
What's the going rate for short time at Soi Six?
Searching Google, I found this link:
http://www.pattaya-funtown.com/bars_pattaya.html
Bar fines in short-time bars are usually around 300 Baht and typically include the room rental fee for up to one hour. Most short-time girls should be satisfied anything between 500 and 1000 Baht for sexual services, but 700 seems to be the norm these days.
I don't have a date of this publication, but it seems fairly recent.
Seems that 500-1000 is the range with about 700 being the norm.
Comments?
Soi 6 is still 300 (was 200 a couple of years ago) plus 500ST
$1=29B more or less (after the currency exchange costs - even the ATM charges roughly 3%)
so for those of you going to be there for LOI KRATONG - if you haven't done it before, it's USUALLY LOUD!! Lots of fireworks and the occasional idiot who sets of a mortar with a short fuse and it goes up maybe 10M and pops. IF done on a side soi (like in Jomtien) it gets DEAFENING. The flying dry cleaning bags with the candles is a nice effect - but if the winds blow toward shore, there have been some fires in past years

Not a looker, but very, very good service. There's a pic of the lady over in the photo gallery.
I don't think Thai women knowingly adjust their prices for the international exchange rates, and I'm fairly new to the Pattaya scene, but I think you should easily be able to get LT for 1500 baht (+/-).
Of course, YMMV, though, depending on the point of origin and the attitude/altitude of the woman.
Anyone can recommend a good condom, ie., one that allows you to actually feel you are having sex? Needs to be larger than average as the ones I've tried squeeze so hard my dick goes numb.
I searched the forum with words like best/condom/sensitive but way to many reports come back that happen to have those key words but not about the subject.
I looked through the safe sex forum for 2010 but didn't find anything so I am doing a direct request.
I did find a 2009 report in the "General Reports" that recommended a couple but would like to get anyone else's suggestion.
Thanks in advance.

The Japanese like their raincoats real thin. I have heard hearty recommendations for the Sagami 002, as this one is apparently so thin that you can forget you have one on. However, I checked in several drug stores in Hong Kong and could not find the Sagami 002 in large size. Maybe it exists in Thailand. I tried the regular size and it felt like the little bastard was trying to strangle my dick. Come to think of it, the guy that recommended this brand was ABC.....

I agree, Soi 6 is usually 300 bt barfine (including room) and 700-1000 for the girl (ST). LT is probably 1500, but many of the best ones are not allowed by the mamasan to go LT. The only bar with cuties in Soi 6 (in my opinion) is the Passion Dance Club; 95% of Soi 6 girls (those which ARE girls) are rough, rough, rough.
