After that, you can each order another whole pizza to take home. '

That's what we did, and with a whole pizza each, they then walked off into the night.

They were so young and actually so irresistible; in my mind, they were bait.

If not, we'll meet again in a few years on the safe side, with a still positiv attitude towards strangers.

Hi! New to this forum which I have read with great pleasure as I will be traveling to Madagascar in May for the first time. How do you usually go about applying for a visa? Do you apply on site upon arrival or in advance via e-visa?

Visa upon arrival. 1, 2 or 3 months. I've paid I think 50 euros for 3 months.

Make sure you have a return ticket, otherwise you won't be allowed to board the plane.

Also, have proof of reserved accommodation or at least have someone you visit on the phone for immigration to call if needed.

Tinte was part of the 'visa on arrival' team, ensuring he had the exact amount in cash – euros – with him, as they might not be able to give change.

I read Hungambia's latest post and he says you can now get 3 months on arrival and you won't be allowed to board without a return ticket AND you need a contact in Mada on arriving. Anybody recently arrived that can confirm this? None of this was the case a year and a half ago when I last visited.

You don't need a contact upon arrival.

Since it was my first time, immigration asked mme for hotel booking. I didn't have one.

They then asked me if I'm here to visit a friend. I said yes, here is his number.

They have called my friend (malgache) right in front of me, he confirmed that he is the one sorting out my accommodation.

That's when they let me pass.

When I was trying to get on my plane from the UK, they refused me to board. I said that as far as I know the visa could be obtained upon arrival.

They said that's not the issue, the problem is that I have no return ticket. I told them, I hadn't bought one as I was not sure if to stay 3 months or to extend it by an extra month.

They said I still needed one, so I had to quickly buy one on the spot (cost me a fucking arm and a leg), then 5 hey let me board.

I hope this helps, trying to save you the hustle I've endured.

Depending on the check in counter agent. Ethiopian is asking for a return ticket. You don't need any reservation or contact address or anything else. But you have to fill out the arrival form where you have to state any address of any hotel. Irrelevant. Visa on arrival 3 months. You're done.

I normally have 4 months off. I'm planning to do 3 in Mada and the rest either Kenya or Uganda.

Never been to either and my finances are not limitless. Which one would you recommend?

I guess direct flights make Kenya a logical choice, but for some reason, Uganda calls me more.

I hardly pay more than 10 $ a night for a cheap guest house. Street food is excellent. Rolex. Pussy is in abundance. Not as greedy as in Kenya. In fact there's a lot of Kenyan students studying at Makerere and other Christian universities. Cost are 30% lower to get a degree in Uganda. Plus in Kampala you get [blue][Deleted by Admin][/blue] pussy as well. And fine Restaurants too. Cheaper than Nairobi.
