Bangkok Hotels

Having looked at all of the suggestions you've made I might consider staying in the Admiral as it has been reviewed here by several other punters. It looks closer to Soi Cowboi than Mermaid Hotel and Park Plaza Sukhumvit as well.

For some reason I do like to start my evening journeys in Crazy House and get warmed up. Afterwards I have a stroll through SC and continue to move on to NEP. MOst of the time I'm heading back after midnight to SC and end up in CH if I didn't found anything of my liking in between.

I can't decide between the following hotels! Any Suggestions?

1. The Landmark.

2. Majestic Suites.

3. Majestic Grande.

As you can tell, I prefer to stick around Nana Plaza and the BJ Bars. I'm also open to suggestions to staying around Soi Cowboy but would need a really good comparison to Nana. Background why I like Nana area is because I know there are massage places that offer FS on the Nana alley (Soi 4?) Is there anything like that at Soi Cowboy?

Some people need a superb bathroom with separate shower. Some people need soft beds (that is me). Some people need to be right on Nana Plaza (e. G. Nana Hotel) because they cannot walk 200 metres. Majestic Suites is the cheapest but hardest to get a booking. I last stayed there about 23 years ago. LOL That would have been before I ever heard of Nana Plaza.

Majestic Suites * 1800 Baht approx. Possibly best value for money.

Majestic Grande * 2500 Baht approx.

Landmark * 4000+ Baht approx. Never stayed there.

You can see there is no comparsion. Last time I took Majestic Grande purely as it was about my price range and could get a booking.

Consider also Dynasty Grande and Dawin recently mentioned.

If ever Column has a good price deal, then I would take that every time. It is a super Hotel for rooftop bar, pool, and views over Bangkok if get a moderately high floor at least. Girls really like it too. Classy. Normal prices for Column are quite high. Not absolute closest to the bars but that matters so little. Can always take a taxi or motorbike. One of my favourite regular girls really loves the column Hotel and it's rooftop bar. She likes to dress show off in sexy fashion outfits. I thought was better than being on the top of the State Tower personally.

Mermaid was one of the best value for money Hotels when I tried it (when fairly newly opened). Alas Admiral Premier became too well known. Some Japanese guys live there all the time. Often used by Chinese bus tours, causing it to be fully booked or not having the prices as good as used to be. Was best a few years ago when was little known.

If you exit Cowboy on Soi 23 and turn left, you will soon see massage places on the far side of the street. There are many to choose from and you would walk for 10 minutes to take them all in. I do not have a favorite but have enjoyed myself here. One reason I like Bangkok is there are so many choices beyond the obvious.

If I would go for massage, Soi 4 is about the last place I would think of. LOL Well actually I don't even like massage! So I mean last place I would go to an MP looking for sex. Surely Soi 22 through to Thonglor is the hub for sex MPs. I have visited MPs in Soi 19 but not in Soi 23, despite having so many. Also have used MPs in Soi 33. There are just so many possibilities one cannot think to try so many of them unless they have stunning girls. LOL.

For Soi 4 beware that many MPs appear to be populated with lady boys in addition to real girls. Danger, Will Robinson!

I started my evening a bit too early, around 6:15 at Soi Cowboy. I was denied entry into Crazy Horse, so sat on the patio of Lighthouse. It seemed quiet and I started getting bored. To kill time, I walked to Nana Plaza and went straight to Bangkok Bunnies. I loved the welcoming atmosphere at the club and decided to linger around until 9 pm. At this point, a very cute girl who's name she said was 'Ba' stopped by and asked for a lady drink. I bought her one with the intention of barfining her later. We were able to hold a conversation without getting bored and discussed her fee to go back to my hotel. She quoted 2500 B for an hour or 2 and 4000 B for overnight. I thought it was reasonable and told her I will come back after checking out the action inside the club.

Once I went inside to see the performers on stage, I forgot about the patio girl Ba. After scoping out the talent, I chose No. 22 and bought her a LD. She was very friendly and easy to talk to, so I ended up barfining her. Enjoyed my time with her as she was very un-business like and friendly. Her name is Mai, she's 31, petite and I thought she was very attractive. She's a single mom but has no baby damage. I plan to see her again.

Saw a lot more pretty girls while leaving the plaza.

After seeing some of the responses, I think I need to be more adventurous and stay closer to Cowboy this time then. I was thinking Grand Centre Point T21, price is a little steep but hell I'm on vacation.

Curious though, Is it the price that makes Majestic Suites to hard to book? Looking at the pictures online, they're not all the glamourous, looks like the Lobby, Check-in Area and restaurant is all connected. Meaning to get to the elevators, I have to walk past the front desk every time??

You can be seen entering by the front desk. So what? That is not a problem. It is a Monger's Hotel, not a family Hotel. Anyway you obviously don't want it, seeking something more up market it seems.

Personally I prefer to waste money on girls more than expensive Hotels. However each to their own priorities. I used to stay in classy Hotels when they have a good price, like Column Hotel (a big favourite). Unfortunately they rarely have a special these days.

It is definitely not adventurous to stay in Terminal 21. Just get it straight what you are seeking actually. Personally I prefer to stay closer to Cowboy and to the MRT (underground) and to the major Massage shops area, as traffic in the below Soi 21 district is pretty jammed up and I rarely need to go down that area. If I want to go to Nana I use a motorbike for short distance or the BTS. Soi 4 is problematic for Taxis as they can't turn tight out of Soi 4 nor turn right into Soi 4. There are some tricks to overcome the limitations but I still prefer not to stay in Soi 4.

It is not normal protocol to discuss price for the night with a lady if you are not going to take her. Experienced mongers would probably not do that. Perhaps more applicable if you go shopping. Thais don't like it if people are asking the price when they don't want to buy. However I appreciate you wanted to see what prices you could get.

"Ba" means crazy (sometimes) LOL.

Can anyone recommend a good, clean, safe and cheap hotel close to BKK airport, arriving late and will probably take taxi to Pattaya next morning.

Finally decided on The Landmark, thanks for all the input. What sold me on The Landmark was that it's basically across the street from Thermae and also close to the BJ Bars. I realized that I'm not much into the GoGo Bars so neither Cowboy nor Nana really interests me, and if I did want to venture to either, they're not far apart (however heads up to Syzgies, I'd like to PM you about Cowboy if that's ok) After Syzgies made me think about what it was I was looking for, I realized that what thrills me the most is picking up SW / FL's, Plus a nice place to stay, room service and American TV is definitely a plus. Will report on The Landmark.

If you are Japanese(or similar) I could understand staying very close to the Thermae. Otherwise don't bother, IMHO.

No need for the club level, plenty of good breakfast places around. I personally walk to Cafe Tartine, nice sandwiches and croissants. Should be about USD $150. Get access to great gym next door as well. Pool is just OK, nothing like T21.

At night, one usually has to have the girl show ID and they write down her info. Dinotrex, please find out if they have a minimum age restriction.

Plenty of SW / FL around nana all the way to Thermae. Careful though, it's gets dark in those alleyways and tough to spot those.

Will report on The Landmark.[/QUOTE]Dinotrex, the Landmark is not directly across the street from Thermae but it is close enough. Landmark is pricey but the location is great. Almost all of the places you read about here are located very close to each other. Be sure to cross Sukhumvit and visit Soi 7/1 and Soi 11. Most hotels have only a few USA TV stations so don't get your hopes up too high for TV.
