Can you choose the girls at Honobono?
Also Honobono (http://www.hono-bono.com/ladies/en.html) is a popular alternative. With all that your chance to sit duck in your hotel room are slim... have fun.
Thanks for the advice so far. I tend to try out AM (Rio) for the first time. They have a new chinese girl which was also available, but I couldn't find a feedback so I was not sure for the first time.I looked at the Honobono list, some look kind of cute but some look really scary, so I was wondering if you could really choose the girls. Most other places say only a few are available for NJ. How is their service anyway?
Cafe Kirara following the steps
I was talking about Cafe Kirara in Kabukicho by Koma Theater, but I think it's a chain and there is also a branch in Ikebukuro. As far as I can tell all the branches have the same basic procedure. Also, I have tried a few different chains in Shibuya and Akihabara.I didn't have any problem getting into Cafe Kirara (the website is www.kiraracafe.com), but I went in the afternoon, when it was pretty dead, and the place seemed desperate for business. It probably helps to make friends with the staff there, and be able to speak some Japanese so you understand the procedure. I think the few refusals I've gotten, at any p4p establishment, have been right after the store had some kind of problem with gaikokujins who didn't understand the proper etiquette. I just smile a lot and nod, and if they say 'no' then I leave, with no questions asked. I've been pretty successful.
Was curious about the new avenue you opened, and tried to follow your steps. Just been there on a Saturday afternoon, which is probably not that good a time. The first reaction is that it is closed to Gaijin. Definitely one needs to make friends with the staff before getting in. And UG I agree with you it is 90% about being likeable, smiling and speak some Japanese. I tried all that and they let me in in the end, but this good have gone either way (at the time there was more men than girls as well).Thank you for the tip Ultra Gaijin. We need to be very careful that they see gaijin favorably for this openness to continue. At the moment they are surprised but relatively open minded if you can show so social skill in Japanese. Some Japanese is a must as the also expect you to fill in some profile and discuss with the girl.
