I would add that when you bring the right woman with you, it can enhance the trip, and the wrong one can make it hell. My father said that was his favorite way to really get to know someone: to take a trip with them. Are they prepared? How do they handle authority figures and the rules? How do they react when things do not go according to plan ETC?
When you have at this a while, you begin to demand more. It is not enough for a woman to be attractive and good in bed. What kind of a companion does she make?

I have been to Medellin many times, but just started doing the FB thing as I wanted anonymity and found a way to develop a new account with a different name. I have found that most of the hotter gals here want to hit you up to buy video content, or flat out ask for help. WTF is up? Am I meeting the wrong ones, or has this this happened to other gents here? I normally just pulled from the clubs and around Lleras but wanted to work this angle. Any advice?
What you noticed is the time investment facebook sourcing requires. It's a good fit for guys who have time to kill back home between trips. Its usefulness is very limited if you fire it up after you arrive in Colombia. It takes weeks or more to prime the pump. I see this glossed over in a lot of the facebook content on this site. It's not a bad thing but you don't want to discover it after the clock starts ticking until you have to go back home.

I went to Lleras Park the last two Saturdays but left by 9:00. The girls know I am looking, but what they do not know is I am only window shopping. I hate seeing them get all excited for money when I will never take them. I sexed the short casa girl, ate dinner, then checked out the available street girls. Last Saturday I saw one Centro girl. She has pretty face, hot body, and good in bed. This Saturday I saw two Centro girls. One looks pretty but have never taken her so can not comment. The other girl I saw I took 3 years ago three times. First time good. Second time ok. I am going to either Bogota or Medellin for 2-3 weeks for "workation" and planning to stay at airbnb (but not getting anyone to come in). I have a pretty limited Spanish and want to see girls (of course). I usually prefer to be able to take a shower (together is an option), and not rush (1 HR). Safety / walkability is important.
Would El Poblado or Laureles have options to meet my needs within mostly walking distance? My preference would be either spa or an apartment. Is that area generally safe to stay? What are the ways to find the "good" information resources? And, finally, do you feel that Medellin would make a better base for such a trip?

You should be able to spot the pattern and avoid them. Facebook is a numbers game for the newbies at least. You need to look at your percentage.

Any advice?[/QUOTE]Girls trying to sell content or asking for money is just part of the game, not a big deal because you can just say no. They are doing that because you are not in Medellin. I know a lot of guys just move from them but when you actually in Medelllin and ready to go, some of the same girls are willing to have sex with you for money so I am not so quick to dismiss these girls.
But yes it is a numbers game and when you come to Medellin for a week, you do need to have a number of possibilities so when a girl doesn't respond, you have Plan be and Plan see for that day.

-Gabacho.[/QUOTE]Good advice. Safe to say any foreigner that engages in our behavior has some level of risk. And I don't take extra solace with a Colombiana versus a Vennie. That said, I'm not changing my process. I do think that maybe girls standing outside in Lleras are an increased risk and I'll avoid them. I'm sure some will flame me for some of this, but I'll tell you my main precautions that have saved me more than once.
1. Hotel. I stayed at an Airbnb once in Medellin. That was my first trip. Even that had a front desk of sorts. Who doesn't want the convenience of not having a doorman or front desk being nosy? But, in reality, it's a necessary evil.
2. Doorman / security guard. Treat them well. I frequent many of the same clubs when I visit. I'm by no means a regular. But I will tip them. Nothing exorbitant. I tip them maybe 10 k per night. I promise you that has paid off for me. They remember me every time. Twice the security downstairs at Gusto saved my ass. Once with a girl that was bad news and once when I partied a little too hard. The doormen at some smaller clubs are even more important. And though not in MDE, two doormen at my hotel in Rio saved my ass. I was zoned out, not using basic precautions. 4 guys were coming at me, just 30 feet from the front door. The doormen ran over to me yelling about my phone and the four guys ran off the other way. It's not even about tips or money. If you treat them well, engage them and let them know you appreciate them, they are an important extra set of eyes that know the lay of the land far better than you will.
3. Trust your gut. I'm not a guy that picks a girl, goes right to negotiations and out the door in minutes. Though I don't do it for safety reasons, I think my process has helped to reduce my risk. I want to know the girl. I trust my gut and I want a session where there is something more than a transaction. Is it fool-proof? No. But I trust my instincts to know if something is off with a girl. If nothing else, a conversation and time spent doesn't make you the easiest target in the room.
Just my two cents. It's worked for me for many years now that have gone by without any significant incidents.
This was my second time in Medellin. First was Nov. 2019 a little before the pandemic. First time I stayed in a hotel and spoke very little spanish. This time I stayed in an air bnb and have intermediate level spanish. Both times I stayed near Estadio, which I prefer to Poblado. Anyway, since I wasn't allowed guests at my hotel and had no spanish speaking ability 4 years ago, every day I would go to a casa or massage place in the day, and then Conejitas or Barra Ejecutiva at night. I went to the casas and strip clubs again this year. Still had a lot of fun, but there weren't any smoking hot 18-19 year old hardbodies there anymore. Prices up moderately. Luckily, I am not picky and still enjoyed myself very much. I walked around Plaza Botero in the day looking for sw there. I still couldn't get the nerve to pull the trigger on a sw in El Centro. Probably my loss, just need a little more nerve. But I figured for nearly the same cost I could just see a girl at New Life and it would be a lot safer.
This year I built up a stable of FB girls. Spent about 6 months or so building it up. Got about 300 friends. Since I don't use FB on my cell in order to keep it separate from all my contacts, I had to get Whats App numbers before heading down for my trip. Got about 10 numbers. First girl I saw was a real winner. I halfway wifed up with her for the rest of the trip. Saw her half the days I was there. Went together on a nice trip to Santa Fe de Antioquia (which I recommend over the trip to Guatape). One other girl was really nice one day I saw her, and then like another person high on drugs when I saw her for a repeat. One girl was a very sub par experience, and one girl never showed up after we set a date. A few other girls were unresponsive, and a couple I never got around to contacting. That should give you some idea of my overall FB experience. I was down there for just over one week, FYI.
Another thing I noticed was that you never replicate that feeling exploring a city for the first time. It was nice to be in Medellin with some experience, but that thrill of being there for the first time was missing this time around. Another thing was that it was stressful worrying about the potential for danger with the FB girls. I didn't have a doorman in my building. I guess that's on me, as I could have chosen one with a doorman. I kept remembering the story of the guy who got scoped after his 3rd date with a girl. You could call it a healthy paranoia, but I wish I didn't have to worry about it. I'd say I got lucky finding the girl I had so much fun with. Had a super time again. I'll be back in Colombia next year probably. Maybe Cali again or Bogota.
Holiday today so not much out so I looked under the metro which I rarely ever do. Saw an 8 month pregnant woman. Thin body (other than her tummy) and ok looking and guessing age 21-ish.
