Sosua Reports

"A British millionairess strip club owner has been stabbed to death while on holiday in the Dominican Republic. Denise D'Courtenay, 60, had been missing for a week before her decomposing body was discovered in bushes on a beach on the Caribbean holiday island's north coast on Monday. Police are today hunting a military policeman in his early thirties who had allegedly been stalking her. Staff at the hotel where she was staying say they saw Ms D'Courtenay, a former model, with Hector Amauris de la Cruz on the day she disappeared."

The Daily Mail has a more detailed story on Denise D'Courtnay (Dominican Today got her name wrong). She owned a strip club in London and may have been a former stripper herself. Possibly she was being stalked by some guy in the DR. I am sure that more will come out about this story.

I like medium to dark skinned women. Does that make me a racist? I see a light skinned woman and nothing happens, I see a brown skinned woman, and my heart jumps pace, my prostate throbs and I immediately consider what she would be like in bed.

Why is it any different for men who simply react the same way to lighter skinned women? Racist? We use that term too much, when a little more depth of thought could explain it accurately.

As far as charging more, they have a niche, and the women who make it there do a better job of maintaining their bodies, their hair, their nails, and clothing. It is an upper echelon from the perspective of appearance (not skin color). Take the same girl and put her in Sosua, with the standard PUTA garb and she'll command Sosua prices.

La Passion, Vikings, El Boheim, and others all have their market, but RACISTS, that's ridiculous. Simply ridiculous and you should be ashamed for assigning that definition to them.

Does Anybody has a bus schedule from sosua to sti and whats the best bus to take and also can you catch a bus fromsosua to Sti Airport.

Usually it is a Camry, cost is 40 pesos, and not one of those vans that packs 'them in like sardines. From PoP, take a small bus to, el rotondo, in Santiago. Cost is 100 pesos. Then cross the street and then take taxi either to the Matum where you can pick up a van to the airport, or have the taxi take you to the airport. Ask the driver first the cost. It should be around 500 pesos. Total time of travel will be about two and a half to three hours. Getting through Santiago is a *****. Or you can always take the CaribTours bus, big modern superbus from Sosua. Get off at the terminal in Las Colinas, the first stop. The second stop is closer to the airport, but the bus goes through downtown traffic. Take the taxi from there to the airport. Same price, 4 or 500 pesos.

Caribe Tours schedule is online. I think Metro runs hourly. I don't think either goes direct to Santiago International Airport.

You misunderstand. This is nothing to do with what turns their crank. They may get raging hard-ons when in the proximity of a black girl. It is a question of whom it is socially acceptable for them to be seen with, let alone accompany, when out with their family, friends or business associates. If you don't understand that then you know nothing about the DR.

I said nothing about Passions or Viking. My remarks were specifically aimed at El Bohen and their typical clientele.

But I am glad you apparently agree that the girls at El Bohen are essentially no better or worse than the girls elsewhere, and that the customers are paying a 3000 peso premium to cover the cost of a 500 peso dress and 50 pesos' worth of warpaint.

I'll be in Sosua from Sept 1st-4th. Anybody else on these boards going? I'm goin solo on this trip. Need a wingman that knows the area. Bottle of henney on me!

Can anyone recommend any good restaurants in Cabarete? Trying to do something different this time around instead of the usual Baileys, Rocky's, Tipico Alberto's, etc. (all are still very good by the way).

Try Oshays. Jose is an Irishman who moved to the Dominican Republic and set up a restaurant along the beach. It is a restaurant/sports bar and during the superbowl they would set up a big screen on the beach so customers can watch. They have the best shepherds pie I have ever tasted. Highly recommended but I found it a bit pricey for the DR. I go there at least once on every trip. take a carrito there.

If you are there on a Saturday night, try Tropicoco in Cabarete. They have an all you can eat buffet for around 400P and the food is excellent.
