What on earth were you thinking? If a middle aged guy like you interacts with younger, good looking women on holiday, he has to keep his wits about him big time. In Pattaya, of all places, one has to keep his wits about him so much more and move things along very slowly.

The 'take the bar out of the girl' cliches that you read on here and other forums are only as relevant as the situations/relationships that the participants create. If you are looking for a partner, it's all about finding a sane girl. And you are at least as likely to find one working bar who has been left high and dry by her immature Thai hubby as you are likely to find one from an affluent background who also feels the need to look outside her culture for a partner. Any farang with long-time experience of Thailand will tell you about horror stories they have first/second/third hand experience of with with girls from all types of backgrounds from this place. You have to take your time, and not rush into things. That means giving any girl you feel you may have a future with time to prove herself or to self-destruct.

I have seen too many guys rush into relationships with younger Thai women from all sorts of backgrounds only for things to turn very ugly when things have progressed too far and too quickly to get out cheaply.

Slowly, slowly.

I am thinking about visiting this place for the first time next year around march/april and just how much you need to have a reasonably good time here for about seven days, including girls, food, lodging etc. Is there particular month best for mongering etc.

Here is a newbie question. what's best way to carry Money in Pattaya.

Are ATM machines everywhere where I can withdraw as needed or travelers checks or caarying in foreign currency recommeded.

Pls comment.

It all depends on your style of living. eg 5* hotac, expensive restaurants etc

For the average monger I believe 5.000 to 7.000 Baht/day will cover everything for a week stay.
Hotac 1.500
Food 1.000
Girl 2.000
Drinks 1.000
Other 500
Total 6.000

For longer stays the average could be lower

Can anyone recommend a good place for a massage. There are soooo many to choose from here it would be helpful to have the opinion of a more seasoned campaigner in this arena. I would like to try a soapie as well as a more traditional Thai massage..with possibly a happy ending included if possible.

Also, I am interested in seeing a sex show similar to those found in Patpong Bangkok. I went to the Queens Castle II but was hassled soooo much that I really could not appreciated nor watch/enjoy the actual show. Is there anywhere in Pattaya where I could see this type of show while being minimally hassled?

Another quick question. It is my understanding that some of the places in Pattaya offering oil massages also will massage other places including the prostate for an additional fee. Does anyone have any info. as to where in Pattaya I might find this service?

ATMs are outside virtually EVERY bank and almost all 7-11 as well

Moreover - you can even go to a bank and make an ATM withdrawal with your passport up to the limit of your daily amount. (Mine is $3000 or roughly 100,000B)

Usually oil massage includes a hand job for a minor tip
