The girls remember everything.
Quick story: Lil' BH has a mole on his back. About three years ago, a girl in Pappa's saw it and asked about it. I assured her it was just a mole, and I was even thinking about getting it removed because it had come into question before. About a year later, I see this chica again, and she asks me if I had the mole removed. Hell, I didn't even remember talking to her about it.
That's how much they remember.

I ran into a girl here in NL that I met in Juarez about 6 years ago, barely knew her, yet she remembered my name and what bar we met in. They have amazing recallection abilities.

They might know but can not let on they know. So, negotiate your pesos like it was 10 to 1. In other words, if you normally pay $100 bucks, act like 1000 pesos equals $100 bucks and you get 20% off. For a cheap bastard like me, I am totally taking advantage of the weak peso and paying totally in pesos. On top of that, I am negotiating additional 20% discounts because the chicas are actually willing negotiate because business is so bad. Happy hunting, fella!

They have no problem trying to screw us "dumb gringos" every chance they get either. I am already reading that Mexico is feeling the effects of American economic crisis.
Nuevo Laredo 1999 – If I remember correctly
Two very good friends and I decided to make the trip to border town Mexico. The destination was to be Nuevo Laredo, MX. I had a 1980’s something Chevrolet Caprice Classic at the time. It was a good car that I purchased in order to pull the boat that I would soon purchase. In any case, we locked and loaded and headed out.
My mistake was getting drunk on the drive down where I asked one of my friends to drive. We parked in the mall parking lot and walked across. I stumbled across.
My friend spoke perfect Spanish at the time. We got to the Hotel Reforma, on the main drag, and he negotiated the entire thing. He even asked to see the room prior to paying for it. We got the room, got settled in, and then we went to NL’s Zona. Boys Town would follow the next evening.
We went to a bar, I think must have been Herraduras, but I am way unsure. I need to go back to check out the scene. We were three men at a table when this woman came up to me and started rubbing on me. Oh, wait! That is NOT what happened! I asked her to dance, we did, and then the whole rest of the story. I bought. I told my friends to give me a 30 minute head start before they came back to the hotel room we shared. Like a DUMBASS I walked with the girl to my hotel. Prost is illegal in MX!!!! In any case the managers at the hotel front desk called me over as we entered. He asked for a $5 US charge for the girl. I was drunk. I paid it. I will be certain to ask this question when I check into a hotel. This was very embarrassing but the gal had obviously been in this situation before as she showed no embarrassment.
Arriba, or upstairs, we did the deed and it was OK. I should feel lucky that I was able to get off given my state of drunkenness. I paid her $20.00, which I though was high for 1999, and she walked herself away.
The next morning I awoke to the bullshit ribbing from my friends telling me just how ugly she was. Oh well. We went to breakfast at the place next door and had a wonderful breakfast!!! We ate there for all of our meals save for Carlos and Charlie’s. They make the best, the restaurant next door, BTW.
Please allow me to go back to just how non-pretty she was….. My friends sure as hell could have told me that better was available, but they did not. So. F-Off mis amigos! Ja ja ja.. Yes, this was almost 10 years ago.
Saturday – Please allow me to tell you about Saturday!
After much shopping in the square we decided to go to BT. Yes, we saw the fake Donkey Show as well as the Monkey Girl, which was a joke. Not knowing the layout we ventured down a street where the Trannies hang out. I went into a bar where these “really hot girls” were all over me. Their hands rifled through my pockets with expertise. Yup, I lost the cash that was in that pocket, and when I confronted them it was “no hablo ingels”. Ja ja ja. If you happen to be into the trannie scene; There is very happy hunting there. At least in 1999.
I now speak Spanish pretty well and I do not put up with the bullshit. Gentlemen, please trust me when I say it is very much in your best interests to learn a bit of the language.
If you live in Texas, I am considering starting a border town travel business. So please let me know what ya think about that idea. Austin to NL, PN, M, for some cash. I would have a bus limo type service.

Yup, I lost the cash that was in that pocket, and when I confronted them it was “no hablo ingles”. They took me for about $30.00 but I had cash in other pockets as well as my shoe. Ja ja ja. If you happen to be into the trannie scene; There is very happy hunting there. At least in 1999.

Nuevo Laredo Trip Plan 2008
•After the trip I will post a report with street names, directions, and experience. Not to mention photos.
•I do have one question. Do the girls that hit Herraduras and Montera require a bar fine or have a ficha quota?
Friday:
I’ll leave work after lunch, jump onto I-35, and drive down to Laredo, Tx. From past experience I believe I can still park in the mall parking lot on the US side and then walk across. I’ll have a duffle bag with wheels because I do plan to purchase some things while I am there. In any case, this should put me in NL at about 6:00 PM.
The first thing I’ll do is try to and secure a hotel room at the Hotel Fiesta which is purported to be very near Herraduras and Montera clubs where the chicas make the downtown circuit. I would make a reservation but I was unable to find contact info on the web. If someone can give me this info, that would be great. I would like to sincerely thank Jlurk for his information. I have been to NL before but that was almost 10 years ago.
After I get settled into my room I plan to immediately go shopping for a cute little mask for the girls to wear for when I photograph them nude. I will be sure and get face pics with their clothes on. I should be able to pull this off since I speak Spanish reasonably well. I’ll then go back to my hotel, shower, and head off to Herrauras and Montera clubs for the first night’s action. We’ll see how things go but I will likely head to NLBT after she leaves and I get cleaned up again. Tacos in NLBT for dinner.
Some things I would like to accomplish in BT are to photo a really hot tranny, without getting my pockets picked, and of course to get a really hot girl.
Saturday:
I am hoping to find that restaurant that adjoins the Hotel Reforma on the main drag for breakfast. After breakfast I plan to hit el Mercado for shopping. Saturday I would also like to do some decent sightseeing beyond the craziness of the zone. The night time activities will likely be a repeat of Friday night except in reverse order. I will find a girl who will spend the entire night so I can get some AM action.
Sunday:
Have an early breakfast with the girl, checkout, and head back home. If any of you would like to make any recommendations, I would love to hear from you.

No, to both parts of the question, the girls in these bars are freelancers.
Only fees they pay are to the touts, if one of them sets you up with her.
I know about 4 of these guys, DON'T let one grab you or follow you around, that is how they make part of their money and you don't need any help. Some are hard to shake, just be firm when saying no thanks. They demand money from the girls even if he is sitting with or close to you and you take the girl, he will tell her he brought you, so she owes him. It's BS but that's how they operate.

TLN's can be had, just be careful it don't cost you way more than negociated.
piedras don't take a camera to nlbt. bbond & baby huey have previously given you good advice telling you don't take a camera. we are regular visitors to nlbt.
you are asking for major league potential trouble if you carry a camera with you to nlbt. if caught the nlbt policia will take you to their office/jail. they will search/find all your dinero. they will probably put you in the holding cell to scare you. and then hit you up for a mordida/bribe to make the problem go away. the mordida/bribe will most likely not be a small amount of dinero. they might confirep001e your camera. the nlbt policia supplement their income with mordidas/bribes. why take the chance and possibly ruin your first return visit to nlbt in 10 years.
the nlbt policia search private vehicles entering nlbt. and they ask 99. 9-100% of passengers to exit the taxi for a search/pat down upon entering nlbt. the nlbt policia will ask you to exit the taxi. they will have you spread eagle with your hands on top of the taxi while they pat you down/search you. they will ask if you have any weapons/knife or drugs on you. be respectful and tell them no-no knife or drugs. they will let you go on your way.
i would park in the laredo municipal parking lot down the hill in front of the mall. it is $8 a day/24 hours.
in the early 1980's my buddies & i used to park at the mall. in the early 1990's i parked at the mall and mall security had my truck towed. the mall security guard told me any vehicles after closing time left in the parking lot were towed. not sure what there policy is now.

The Motel Fiesta is on the same street as the Herradura, Ocampo, just 1 block away. The Montera is another block on the cross street where the Herradura is, Hidalgo, but just across the main drag, Guerrero. Another bar, Bar Intimo, is a block the opposite direction to the Montera from the Herradura, more girls circulate between Montera and Intimo and don't bother with the Herradura till very late as it is normally dead till after 10:30 or so.
Bar El Rey also often has girls, some from other bars and some that just hang there.

When I went last weekend, the cop also pulled out my wallet and rifled through it. If this happens, make sure you watch him closely, and make sure that he knows that you are watching him closely. You don't have to say "I watching you", but stare directly at your wallet and his hands the whole time until he hands it back to you. Any slip, and sometimes anothe cop will try to distract you, but any time your attention gets distracted away from what he is doing with your wallet, you stand the chance to lose a few bucks. I usually keep my Viagra in my little crack pocket on my jeans, they have never felt it, or questioned it. They really are looking for the quick buck from stupid drunk gringos who bring cameras, forget they had their little pocket knife, brought an aspirin or Viagra with them (it's not illegal, but they will tell you it is), or don't pay attention and give them the opportunity to snatch a quick $20 or so.
I'm not trying to scare you off of you trip, lord knows it hasn't stopped me from going for nearly 11 years now. I just want to make sure you know what your up against. Stay attentive, stay aware of your surroundings, don't go to places you shouldn't be.
